I was about to complain that the flavor text should say "There will be no redemption." but the flavor on Tree of Redemption was "The executioner's tree in Thraben Cathedral holds the power to absolve more than the souls of the hanged."
This is great on so many levels - both in all of the different ways it calls back to Tree of Redemption, and in its possible applications: Triskaidekaphobia, Assault Formation, synergy with Ayli...very cool card. Badass name, too.
Exchange? So in EDH, this could make someones life 13 and become a 0/40?
Ew, yes.
Not looking forward to this, but seems "fair" as it doesn't kill on the spot.
Also, will be lulz when I Humble the tree if it doesn't target me!

If Tree of RedemptionPerdition isn’t on the battlefield when the ability resolves, the exchange can’t happen and the ability will have no effect.
It can never be fatal even if you were to lower its toughness to 0 on the stack, because even though it would look at the last toughness it had on the battlefield and see 0 and use that value, you can't complete exchanges one-sided. So if combo'd the best you can do is set their life total to 1. Its still quite the play with turn to frog of course.
I have neither the skill to correctly and accurately analyze this set in the context of current and future formats after 12 hours of exposure, nor the hubris to delude myself into believing that I do.
Triskadekephobia may be more worthwhile
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Edit: Also, COME AT ME BRO when you've got a Doran out. Might try to squeeze it in as a one of for giggles.
