Flavourtext is: "The Eldrazi hordes and the cultists penetrated the Thraben defenses and the Guardians were soon overwhelmed"
So we have Eldrazi hordes running around Innistrad destroying stuff? That's a refreshing turn of events after BFZ block.
MaRo will certainly demonstrate how this is in fact completely different using his floating point logic and the horde of believers will follow suit.
I get that these ones are mutations of previously existing stuff, but in the end we have hordes of Eldrazi that look weird and tentacly (see Lone Rider), we have a *****load of preview cards with the creature type Eldrazi, a lot of colorless stuff...
I mean, we just had an Eldrazi block, and it was the worst block in a long time. At least give us a break of a year or two.
In case I was unclear, I completely agree with you. But the PR will be storng to sell te product as something totally different.
I think it's pretty terrible. As initially played, you have a card that does nothing, so you've paid 4 mana to lose card advantage. Then you would need to cast 3 big eldrazi cards to just break even with Harmonize, a card that is decent but not overpowered.
Uhm...after 2 Eldrazis you're already beating out Harmonize. Just saying.
Yeah, I misread the card. Not quite as bad as I thought, but I still am not sure if it's viable. I think if you're playing against the eldrazi ramp deck, seeing them waste a turn playing this card that does nothing on its own instead of ramping further is probably something that would make you happy.
This card's art is pretty obviously unused art from OGW. I don't normally mind that but when did Gideon, Chandra and Nissa actually SHOW UP on Innistrad?
Did I just completely miss that storyline development? I thought we left them behind on Zendikar.

The story just started, and the picture of Gatewatch entangled in tentacles on Innistrad was already shown. Jace called for them, IIRC. After all, that's what the Gatewatch is FOR -- to be called and come to help.
It is different. Sure, there are tentacle monsters with the eldrazi subtype, but there's no spawn, no devoid, no colorless costs, no hyper agressive eldrazi aggro deck is likely, and they're only going to be a tiny sliver of the set, not close to half.

The most recent story article ended with Jace returning to Zendikar to get help from the rest of the Gatewatch. They appear in the Eldritch Moon trailer, as well, which implies that the Gatewatch won't be able to defeat Emrakul on their own; Liliana will be the main focus of the set on the side of the "good guys." Good being a relative term.
Already two Eldrazi-matter cards in the set and only 12 "purebreed" (can be cast, not transformed) Eldrazis? Just more synergy with BFZ block or something wrong?
This hopefully signifies that the Emerge mechanic will be U/G for draft. So if I had to guess, we'll probably get about 6-7 more cards spoiled for it. It's more Eldrazi than I expected, but it's not unwelcome (mostly because I'm dying to brew a Pauper Eldrazi deck that doesn't suck).

We all knew what we were in for with no Emrakul present in Zendikar. This is the continuation of the storyline. Everyone would have been choked if they just jumped to a new plane with a new story with no ramifications towards the canon.
Mechanically speaking is where we'll see the differences. We won't have processors, we won't have Devoid, we won't have Scion tokens, we probably won't have colorless-symbol costs.
MaRo confirmed that no Devoid cards exist in EMN, at least. Given that ol' man Koz kicked the bucket, colorless costs are out too. Similarly, given that ol' man Ula is likewise dead, Processors are out.

Looks pretty solid. Only need two triggers to get great value, and one to get passable value.
A more expensive, delayed Divination is a strange definition of 'passable' you've got there.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
This seems like something that should've been in RoE or the previous block...
