Found this on Amazon while checking the Innistrad art book page for more info. Didn't see it posted here yet. Not much is known, but I added a higher res of the cover art, by Adam Paquette
Looks like half dominaria While the last Phyrexian invasion and Esper. Looks like loots of Steamagicpunk, i wonder what Will be The theme for green cards ( sumic? Magic devolving life? Rampant creations on the loose ?). I m sure i will like
wow looks really cool. i sure hope this plane doesnt end in some horribly unimaginative apocalyptic event involving giant aliens like the last 30 years of mtg sets have...

Yeah! A plane where everything is nice and pacific forever! What fun! All cards will be about gaining life, and allowing the opponent to draw cards and the such. Compelling gameplay just there.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
You guys do remember we used to have 3 serlt blocks, right? We have two sets of Eldrazi on a plane where they were expected t be, that nearly everyone had been demanding to revisit, and then for the third set, they take one of these massively popular characters, and put them in a massively popular setting: the one AND ONLY time these characters have been transported anywhere other than Zendikar and suddenly it's "oooh Eldrazi are just everywhere now."
It's baffling, the collective short memory here. Emrakul on Innistrad is like a fan boy dream.
On topic: Kaladesh looks great and is almost certainly our new artifact plane, since mirroring was conqueredm

lol... yeah and sarcasm is a thing too. i thought 'the last 30 years of mtg' bit wouldve been obvious but i guess its lost on some people.
but while we're at it lets look at previous sets
first zendikar block = ends with rise of eldrazi, apocalyptic stuff
second zendikar = same dudes come back for more apocalypse
scars of mirrodin = ends with phyrexian take over, apocalyptic stuff
lorwyn (least apocalyptic setting of all time) = ends with creepy scarecrowy apocalyptic stuff
time spiral = already apocalyptic
alara block = ends with extremely fabulous multicolour apocalypse
first mirrodin block = ends with extremely fabulous multicolour apocalypse
kamigawa block = ends with epic ninja apocalypse

Since my own sarcastic post was apparently lost in you as well, I'll ask directly. What the hell do you expect instead? Storytelling and gameplay are driven by conflict. The higher the stakes of the conflict, the more likely it is for people to engage. it is not "lazy" it is simply how it's done.

Can't wait for the inevitable eldrazi appearance. Let's hear it for steampunk thopters...with tentacles!
There is no inevitable Eldrazi appearance. The probability of Elrazi appearing in Kaladesh block is pretty much zero and you (should) know this. So please stop writing stupid posts like this. We get it. You don't like the Elrazi. Good for you.
alara block = ends with extremely fabulous multicolour apocalypse
I actually laughed out loud at this.
I would like to add some planes to the list, some of which might not be so apocalyptic:
Ravnica: Guilds destroyed in the first block, and things got bad, but they weren't _that_ bad. 2nd time around it almost sorta happened when the maze-runners got the ability to cast Supreme Verdict, but Jace managed to get them to understand each-other and not do so. Apocalypse averted.
Theros: What happened there wasn't quite that level, although still bad, a war and a brand-new god getting killed isn't quite an apocalypse, nor is Ajani starting to spread doubt about the gods.
Tarkir: From the perspective of the people in both timelines, there was no apocalypse in the present, although you could perhaps argue that the extinction of the dragons in the original timeline was one from the perspective of the dragons, given how slow it is implied to happen, probably not quite a qualified thing. The timeline change itself might qualify though under some perspectives, especially since almost everyone sorta 'died' from the original timeline to be replaced by alternates or not at all. Okay, yeah, this one was probably an apocalypse from the comfort of the 4th wall or anyone who knows what actually happened and thinks it through more than the likes of Sarkhan.
Fiora: No, changes in leadership aren't the level of an apocalypse, although given this isn't a normal set, I'm not sure it counts.
Shandalar: This is where the Magic 20XX core sets take place, although they also have cards from other stuff as well, since they have looser rules, but locations like Kalonia, Thune, Valkas, Evos Isle, and such are all from there. Shandalar _has_ gotten a potential apocalypse in the form of the sliver hive developing, although it seems to have just started relatively speaking.

Yeah, how dare I have an opinion that differs from yours. On a website message board. Where you discuss things. You could have just had a chuckle at the intended lightheartedness of the original post, or groaned to yourself at how awful it was. Ultimately though, no one needs you to police the forums and if you find me that grating, just block me. I couldn't care less and maybe you'll be happier.
On an actual, on topic note so as to not derail this thread more than I already may have, Kaladesh does look really cool. I don't think I've been this excited about a set/block/plane based on pure aesthetics since...ummm...ever? I'm interested in digging a little deeper into the world beyond the peek that Origins provided.

Funny thing. If memory serves the Supreme Verdict would only have wiped out the tenth district. Far from an apocalypse.

Yeah, how dare I respond to a comment that I disagree with. On a website message board. Where you discuss things.
I silently rolled my eyes the first time you made that "joke" in another thread. But since you made it again here, I was afraid that you would make it again and again over the upcoming spoiler season to show your disdain for the Eldrazi and their involvement on Innistrad. So I called you out on it.
And I do not block people just because I disagree with their opinion and attitude. Do you?

Indeed I do not, but I also don't make a habit of calling people out on forums over something so inconsequential. It's petty and small. I'm not concerned with your thoughts on forum etiquette, nor are my posts being submitted for your approval. I will continue to voice my (currently tentative) displeasure over EMN's story direction whenever I feel it to be relevant to the topic at hand, and if that means you may read comments with a certain level of redundancy, well that's your problem I suppose. I'm not going anywhere either, so make with the block or live and let live.
On a separate, but actually on topic note though, why shouldn't I be concerned that previous failures* won't rear their heads in subsequent blocks? Maybe not eldrazi thopters, but (and I'm just thinking out loud here) maybe Sorin is on Kaladesh because he needs help from an artificer planeswalker to create a replacement for Avacyn as Innistrad's guardian.** It's this kind of shallow, everything-is-connected lameness that I see creeping into the MtG narrative. The interconnectedness itself isn't the problem, but rather the laziness* with which its executed.

One of them could have, I had the impression that the maze-runners had the knowledge and potential to cast the spell put into their minds, so it would have become something like nuclear war mutually assured destruction with multiple districts getting destroyed, especially those of rival guild headquarters.

To be fair I didn't actually get to read the third part of the Secretist I just got that from summaries and such and the way I understood it was that the Supreme Verdict would have been fired by the various magic systems that made up the Implicit Maze of the guild champions continues arguing and Jace used his mind meld technique he created on his breif walk to Zendikar to give everyone a sense of understanding. It didn't seem like there was to be multiple instances of the spell. There wouldn't need to be as the tenth was the district in which most of tthe guild halls were right?
actually, if your sarcasm had been lost on me, that would imply that i misunderstood you to be agreeing with my opinion, which i clearly didnt.
nice try tho maybe the definition of sarcasm is lost on you?
anyway, kaladesh looks cool. hope its a return to more traditional fantasy cause this new psuedo sci fi stuff stinks
I'm so glad they're continuing these! Aesthetically, Kaladesh is my favorite since Mirrodin! And I'm very fond of that Gap Generator in the background.
I want a giant steampunk metal sculpted elephant artifact creature like the one in the image to be legendary. Maybe even a steampunk Ganesha type legendary statue creature for commander.
Eldrazi and Angels and planes getting blown apart, population wiped or turned is getting boring.
I want a nice boring plane with cool machines to cleanse the palette. And Naya has had an amazing run, time for some good Blue/Black/Red cards. (Well UR at least)
