BFZ has 51/251 Eldrazi (20%) and OGW has 41/183 (22%).
12 of the 40 cards spoiled so far are (or specifically refer to) Eldrazi. And there are at least 10 colorless cards (non-artifact, so presumably all Eldrazi) yet to come, and you know they're not done with colored spells that transform into Eldrazi. I'm guessing at least 40, which would put it on par with both BFZ and OGW.
Just sayin'....
With the spoiled Eldrazi Vampire and Eldrazi Werewolves today, we're now looking at a minimum of 36 Eldrazi cards in this set. That's 18% already, folks, and I'm sure we're not done yet! My projection of 40 might have been a bit low, actually.
So if all DFC's (save Ulrich) are eldrazi on the back (How many DFCs are there again?) in addition to the 12 cards we know are colorless non-artifact, how many eldrazi does that give us?

Yeah. They may not be the same as the Eldrazi drones from BFZ, but they aren't really any better for me at least. Actually kind of prefer the more abstract Eldrazi than these.
Maro keep insisting that Eldritch Moon isn't about the Eldrazi, it's about Emrakul's effects on Innistrad...but if "Emrakul's effects on Innistrad" means everything turning into Eldrizi, then what's the difference?

"You say 'learn from history,' but that does not mean 'learn the same bull***** the people in history learned alongside phrenology and alchemy.'" - The Blinking Spirit
Unless I'm mis-remembering, there are more cards in Eldritch Moon that care about Eldrazi specifically (Emrakul's Influence, Coax from the Blind Eternities) than there are in Oath of the Gatewatch (Kozilek's Return).
MaRo's full of crap. The set's very clearly about Eldrazi and if you had Eldrazi fatigue, this will do nothing to help.
Tbh I like the whole The Thing vibe, that said this is a lot more Eldrazi influence than I had thought we'd get.
As a query for people, is it the Eldrazi sub-type or warping werewolves/vampires in general? So for example with the werewolf/vampire eldrazi we've had spoiled, if instead they went from warped humans/vampires (mad but no tentacles), to Werewolf/Vampire horrors, but no Eldrazi type, would that have been better?
For me it would be to what degree did the change occur. Werewolves, for example, were super roided up in SOI compared to their leaner appearances in the original block. If it were accentuating normal features for tribes - bulkier, larger maws and muzzles, lack of transformation back to human - and they justified that as the horror subtype, I'd be more readily accepting. This set isn't that, though. Sticking tentacles and multiple body parts throughout my werewolves isn't letting them be what they are: they aren't werewolves with Eldrazi features, but Eldrazi with werewolf features. And I didnt get lured into this game during Dark Ascension for Eldrazi

I'm not a huge fan of the body horror kind of transformation thing in general, though if it was done from a more internal source then I wouldn't mind as bad. Still wouldn't be good, but it's degrees of bad.
Lol I ALMOST feel sorry for liking this plot of eldrazi takeover.
Don't. It's not your fault, and I'm not even mad at Wizards. There are clearly fans for this kind of thing. I'm just not one of them, and it sucks that it happened to a plane with a lot of fans who aren't necessarily fans of this concept. I feel sorry somewhat for being glad that some of my favorite planes aren't popular enough to show up again, so they won't have this issue.
At this point i want one of each creature type from original Innistrad to get an Eldrazi form.
Seriously, if we don't get a Dragon Horror -> Eldrazi Dragon, and Elemental Horror -> Eldrazi Elemental after getting Hippogryff and Humunculus Imma be mad.

Hi, I'm new!
Mark my words, the Year of Eldrazi will not be the last we see of them.
I'm not saying that the storytelling or flavor is bad -- I've lately enjoyed both and the twists on repeat settings -- but, card-wise, I feel as though the last few years have been all, like:
Wizards: "Check out all these Eldrazi on Zendikar! Bet y'all don't miss allies and Adventureland!"
Players: "We kinda do, actually. Can we have both?"
Wizards: "Check out all these Phyrexians on New Phyrexia! Bet y'all don't miss Mirrans!"
Players: "We kinda missed the Phyrexians, but Mirrodin was pretty okay, too."
Wizards: "Check out all these sweet angels on Innistrad! Bet y'all don't miss werewolves!"
Players: "You kinda...undid Innistrad, but the angels are okay. Can we keep those, but get the other stuff back, too?"
Wizards: "Check out all these dragons on Tarkir! Bet y'all don't miss wedge clans!"
Players: "Dragons are kinda cool, but every set has those, and we'd been asking for wedge stuff for how long?"
Wizards: "Check out all these allies and planeswalkers on Zendikar! Bet y'all still don't miss Adventureland!"
Players: "No, we still...we still miss Adventureland, and those Eldrazi things are even more plentiful, now, and --"
Wizards: "Check out all these normal werewolves and messed up and/or dead angels on Innistrad! Bet y'all don't miss the lawful good guys!"
Players: "Can you please stop over-correcting?!"
Wizards: "...Check out all these Eldrazi on Innistrad! Bet y'all don't miss Halloweentown!"
Players: "..."

Kind of sums up my thoughts on a lot of Planes. I don't necessarily mind how these last two blocks have played out, they make sense from a story standpoint, but I still think they could have been done in a different way. At least the Eldrazi had to be dealt with since they were made, would have been weird to bring them up and never resolve them. Though I didn't miss the Phyrexians, kind of miffed about Mirrodin to an extent.
Just a short reminder for people who like getting angry at Maro for "lying": He didn't say anywhere that there would be only a small amount of Eldrazi on Innistrad. You can be mad about Eldrazi being prevalent all you like, but the title of this thread is very misleading.
I did not like the BFZ Eldrazi. I thought Colorless Mana was cool but the OGW Eldrazi were also lame. However I really really like these Eldrazi <something> creatures. The only pure Eldrazi creature is Emrakul and everything else is a weird mix, and I enjoy this set quite a bit.
My guess would be that they seal Emrakul into the moon and the extreme transformations will stop. Leaving Innistrad permanently a bit warped but overall okay.

That is my guess as well. You won't get the extreme aberrations we've had in this set, though they'll still likely exist, while Emrakul becomes the focus of a cult-like following. Though I know others along with myself aren't really happy with that solution it's really the only "good" way to have things turn out.
Yet, from 46 spoiled cards, 17 are or become eldrazi and 2 works specifically only with eldrazi. If this rate keep going, it will end, proportionally, with the same or more eldrazi than the zendikar sets.
With the Eldrazi storyline, be it on Zendikar or Innistrad, it's like WotC went "We must destroy everything good about these planes! And murder all the characters, oh yes. How else would anyone understand how completely awesome and all-powerful the Eldrazi are?".
What about Innistrad is being destroyed? It's a horror plane, and I just see eldrazi being used as a way to expand on the tropes present in the set.
Wasn't it last set we had *****ing about the eldrazi NOT being powerful enough because they didn't kill anyone important? Now, that they did kill important characters, Wizards is horrible. It's as bad as people both wanting Wizards to reprint and not reprint the same card. It can't be both ways.
"Filled" is a wrong word. With this amount (30% of spoiled cards are eldrazi, which is already 10% more than BFZ), Innistrad won't be filled.
It will be overflowed.

To put it in horror movie terms, it was a gothic horror plane. Now it's a slasher plane.
Innistrad was scary because the unexpected could happen, you didn't know what horror lurked near or how to fight it, and even the people were one step away from trying to eat you without any need for mind control or mutations.
Now it's all about a franchise villain we've seen a million times slowly walking towards you with his invulnerable plot armor, exept we already know the killer is not invulnerable and will be beaten by the end, we've watched this movie before and the aesthetic overhauls don't do much for the plot.
Invincible evils don't work in serialized storytelling, that's why people don't take Galactus, Thanos, Darkseid or Daleks seriously anymore, why Resident Evil went full sci-fi and why Scary Movie did better than all the movies it was making fun of.
Eldrazi or no, some amazing artwork in this set - very happy to see Jarvis take some steps away from that sterile, cookie-cutter concept art look that ruled the past few blocks.
The one of problems with eldrazi of BfZ and OGW was: most of the eldrazi were boring and unrecognizable, a one big many-handed/headed/tentacled mess. Not joking, I remember all eldrazi cards from RoE but I barely remember names and abilities of BfZ /OGW drones. To prevent this, Wizards tried to mashup things - and make eldrazi werewolves, eldrazi vampires, eldrazi reflections, eldrazi brushwaggs, eldrazi uncle istvans, eldrazi everything. But I already feel that fails the same way - people get tired of twisted, enormous looking monstrosities pretty fast, no matter it looks recognizable or not.
I feel like the creative team gives too much deference to characters (i.e. the Gatewatch), and very little to the actual worlds. They don't seem to matter at all.
Further, I was really excited when they announced the changes to how the story would be delivered, but the story they have chosen to deliver is lazy, boring, predictable, and a slew of other unflattering adjectives. Some of the stories appear to be written by high school students who mistake an abundance of adjectives for good writing. I also didn't need what amounted to a sequel to BFZ's story. I was bored of the eldrazi before Oath, and now they're back, keeping me from enjoying my favorite plane.
Maybe my newfound disdain for the eldrazi is a byproduct of BFZ block being lackluster. Either way, I don't find them to be compelling villains, which is something Magic has in painfully short supply.
