He's disappointing, guys...it needs a build around deck. It could make the cut into standard as top of the curve in a zoo-like deck, but that's all. Sadness...no modern viable legendary werewolf...
Oh noes, the niche standard tribe isn't one of the average of three cards per set that break into the power fest that is Modern! WHATEVER SHALL WE DO!!!!
You know what, he should have given +8/+8, Annihilator 10, Trample, Infect, Flying, and cost RG. That would have been Modern playable!

You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
He's both everything I wanted and nothing I wanted at the same time. I've been wanting a legendary werewolf too, especially since I opted for wolf/werewolf tribal during the original Innistrad block, and while I'm happy that this guy even exists, yes, as people have said I REALLY wish he had some tribL synergies. As it stands, 5 mana for a 4/4 + a ETB pump, and 5 mana for a 6/6 + fight are all fine and well, but unless he can consistently transform back and forth via some spells or support creatures, I don't see a huge appeal. I'll have to wait to see what else is in the set, but on his own, while he's plenty playable, he's not interesting or strong enough to start a werewolf EDH deck, IMO.
Werewolves EDH was always gonna be casual. I dont see anything wrong with this guy. Very very nice art and repeatable removal. Obviously not tier 1, but fun and flavorful nonetheless. The fact that he is underwhelming for a mythic also means his foil version wont be more then $5-10 which is nice.

So Werewolf fans were angry with no Legend in INN, so SOI/EMN gave them a Planeswalker and Legend. Nice. Too bad Jenrik got killed off. Hoping there's a Tamiyo card for us Blue fans, then!
What we've seen up until this point is boards with tons of creatures. I wonder what it would be like to make a 5/5 thopter or a 9/10 advocate is probably the most common target. I really like goldnight castigator into this, thats 13 damage flying, feels hard to beat. I think this guy will curve top a big aggressive red/green deck with thunderbreak regent lambholt pacifist loves this card, advocate. There's a deck here and a lot of great targets that aren't trash without him. The flip is just gravy. I don't know how dominant a R/G will be but I expect to see at least 1 in a top 16 because of this guy.

People just seem so easily disappointed these days. Everyone is bashing this and the new Emrakul. I wonder if they just skipped the part where wizards said this will be a powered down standard. I think this card is perfectly fine. Not insane but not bad. It will probably show up in standard every so often and I'm gonna test it in modern werewolves. People need to stop expecting the power level of the old Innistrad.

Tamiyo feels almost a given now when you consider how important she's been to the plot.
I expect her to have an ability that combats Delirium to mirror the way she protected Jace's mind from Emrakul.

Its fine. Likely better in standard as an aggro deck curve topper than EDH but I don't think anyone who was begging for a werewolf legend really expected it to be competitive or powerful. This will make the tribal Timmies very happy.

Emrakul and Ulrich don't even match the power level of current standard. Emrakul is an absurdly worse ramp target than Newlamog and compare Ulrich to Avacyn. Wotc dropped the ball of these two legendaries and you know it.

Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 19 years later.
Happy is the man who has broken the chains that hurt the mind and given up worrying once and for all. Be patient and tough. One day this pain will be useful to you.
I don't think this card will be good for anything other than casual play or finally giving people their werewolf commander, but yeah every spoiler season is full of cards people call awful that end up great, or awful cards that people called great. It's without fail, and there's no use fighting it. Just let everyone realize it when the cards they preordered for $20 are bulk rares and the "jank" they turned back over to the store after the pre-release is seeing modern play. It happens every time.
Well, no legendary creature from Innistrad set had tribal synergies. Mikaeus didn't boost Humans, Grimgrin didn't boost Zombies, Olivia didn't help your Vampires, she could only change opponent's creatures into Vampires then steal them. This guy is meant to RECEIVE tribal synergies, not generate them.
True, but Werewolves are a special case. There are dozens of lords and explicit tribal synergy cards for Zombies and Vampires, and Mikaeus, the Lunarch does, in fact, lord your tiny humans -- just not in a traditional way. Werewolves, on the other hand, have been seen in exactly 2 blocks so far so their choices are much more limited. There's Immerwolf and... maybe Vildin-Pack Alpha?
I'm just saying a legendary werewolf that had explicit tribal synergy would have been appreciated for the first of (hopefully) many.
It's a bit bland, and that's the doofiest looking werewolf I've seen outside of SyFy Pictures Originals, but I'm sure this guy will see tons of play in EDH.
Makes me wonder what happenned to the other packs, 'uncontested' implies that they are no longer around. Based on trailer art and scourge wolf, maybe one has converted'mrakul(yes that suffix is annoying but we may as well get used to it) and maybe Arlinn and him united the rest?

I know what? I don't have to give in to anything and say "Oh, Ulrich and Emrakul are bad cause they don't live up to the hype." They are fine cards. I just don't understand the mentality of anything not as powerful as X card is bad. The idea of saying a card is bad and YOU know it is just not a good mindset to be in. I can like this card.
