This is not too shabby. It`s not impressive, but it is a pretty unique card that`s likely to see niche play somewhere in the future, and the art is beautiful. I give this a 50% score.

I wonder if they decided on this as the promo for August before deciding to act against Amulet Bloom? We know that design and development work far ahead of the real world, but do we know when FNM promos are finalized?
We still get Eldritch Moon to see if there are more uses for it before it rotates out of Standard.
We get an entire other block too before this card rotates out of standard.

Look at my name...what did you expect?
Thank you WOTC for introducing the Modern format, a format where all the whiners can enjoy a level playing field and where they can play with none of the best cards of all time!
Cool art on that promo. The reason I don't like the card itself is because you can't play it and hold up the mana for an instant. So if you were hoping to Fiery Impulse their 1 or 2 drop, you're out of luck.

From my understanding the colorless mana it makes is ONLY for Kozilek's Eldrazi, therefore it won't ever be good for anything but a handful of cards from one set.

The mana symbol on this and other new cards represents Colorless Mana: it can be used to pay any cost requiring Colorless, but it can also be used in any cost requiring generic mana. The only thing it can't be used for is a cost that requires a specific color.
Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 2 decades later.
"Entitled:" the entire ad hominem fallacy condensed into a single word. It doesn't strengthen your argument to attack motivations, it just makes you look like you don't understand the argument.

I know it can be used for any general cost, but my point was that that the only cards that REQUIRE C are Kozilek's eldrazi cards, therefore I really see no use for this land in future standard sets, unless they make Emrakul's eldrazi also require this mana(in a future set). Basically only a very limited number of decks across all formats will need the kind of mana this land makes and in most of those formats Painlands are just better; therefore its future does not look bright.
Kozileks's eldrazi may be the first to use the colourless symbol, but there is no reason for the symbol not to be used in future sets for other things. We cant make any assumptions about it's use at this point, and considering the extent they went to in order to introduce this new symbol an incorporate it into all cards which previously generated colourless mana, I would be very surprised if it was never used for other things.
As to the promo, this very much seems like a card that WOTC thought would do more, or think will do more in standard before it's rotation. The art is gorgeous and I'm a little sad it isn't on a card I want to be playing, but I'll take it none the less and maybe it will find a home before it rotates.
It's still a really good card that could even be useful in Modern
(it already would be if they hadn't killed Titan Bloom).

I'm very surprised this hasn't seen more play in Standard, the 3 copies in my WB Eldrazi do good work

Yup, you are right. For some reason I thought there was a faster rotation with the two-part blocks.
