No Phyrexian Altar either... That thing is going to get (even more) expensive, if 4C-Commander decks fail to deliver that one. Though 4C might include it.
I imagine there's a good chance one of them would have it. My money's on it being in GRBW
Seriously, the Khans lands are the ones they decide to reprint? Not even Mirage fetches?
Like I said, some really weird inclusions on top of some questionable exclusions.
Overally, yeah I'm pretty happy with the set, even if the only thing in it I really need is the foil Toxic Deluge (may consider going for the new Mystical Tutor over my FtV one, and I'm kinda divided on if I prefer my judge Vampiric Tutor vs the new one, because I do love that new art). My Force of Will is altered and signed, so not sure how much I rather have a foil instead.
Where the hell is Worldly Tutor? Green is my favorite color and I'm tired of dropping $6.50 for them, with no opportunity for new template and a foil. Dammit!!
This. The one card that I'd like to see in foil and EMA was the best chance. Maybe it made it in Conspiracy 2 or EMA 2018 or... who am I kidding. Sigh.
I want to riot. Not a single good card today. Set just went from great to below average. Imperous perfect at rare and sphinx at mythic feel like a punch to the face. No port. No berserk. No crucible. No flusterstorm. Im confident my box is no longer worth the msrp and while I expect a reasonable amount of filler once again they overdid it.
Yeah, let's ignore all the awesome reprints we did get, many with fantastic new art or being made available in foil for the first time.
Again, I agree that some of the cards they opted for over others is a bit odd, there's some real crap in here, but overall the set definitely seems worthwhile.
If you're trying to profit off of buying and cracking packs of this, you're doing it wrong anyways.
EDH/Commander is a social format, right? So why don't people use their social skills to discuss what they like and don't like, instead of adopting a list with 60+ banned cards?
Always nice to see more copies of Night's Whisper, Harmonize, Young Pyromancer, Rancor, Relic of Progenitus and Worn Powerstone out there. The foils for all were pretty expensive (or nonexistant)
Very disappointed with the lands. Mirage fetches or any other cycle would have nearly been more preferable.
I won't draft this at more than $40 or so, not worth it.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
I don't know who Ben is, but it sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders.
The Khans gain lands are a serious wtf in my mind. Of all the mana fixing they could have printed...
Definitely several good reprints, but a lot of chaff. I know people are calling to not whine because there's a lot of good stuff, but at $10 a pack it's no doubt a tough sell for a lot of people (myself included).
To everyone that's complaining - Remember Alliances? You know, the set that Force of Will came from? Yeah, there's only like ten cards worth over a dollar in that set. Packs go for around $15-18 because you might get a Force of Will. Just let that sink in.

I had the choice between buying a box of this or buying 4 Goblin Guides and drafting EMA a couple times and after this morning I am certainly glad I went with the guides. Some nice uncommons in the set though.
In the end I think the set looks very nice, both from a draft and a value standpoint. If you can get a box at MSRP you should generally get your input back with a reasonable chance of going over it if you pull one of the top mythics.
I am however very disappointed in the choice of lands. Mix of tempest pain lands and mirage fetchlands would have been great to reprint at common or uncommon. Some of those at least see play in EDH whereas the lifegain lands see play nowhere.
Contagion would have been nice to see in modern border too.
I hope with this the notion that "the value will be in the commons and uncommons" dies. They're almost all complete junk. Nearly every common and uncommon worth anything was bumped up to rare.
This set is so confusing. It's designed for draft but some cards were obviously bumped up in rarity with the secondary market in mind. The premium price tag and short print run directly impede the ability to actually draft it. This isn't going to help anyone get in to Legacy as the demand for Reserve List cards that this creates will offset any price decrease for Eternal Masters cards. It's simple economics. This set only exists to give Magic players another product to consume.
The only thing this set is going to do for the game is give Commander players easier access to some cards, give collectors new foils to bling out their decks, and shake up Pauper a bit.

It should have Ben the zendikar fetch lands.
Plus crucible of worlds should have Ben in this set

Pyromancer's Goggles was one of the Red mythics in Origins. Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth was a Black mythic in M15.

Horrible set, all in all, and that's not even taking the Reserved List into consideration (which, obviously, should've been nixed).

They would've done nothing in Pauper though. We don't have duals so Evolving Wilds & co are strictly better.

Urborg was a rare in M15.
