Heh. The rare/mythic stuff barely matters to me since I'm not going to be getting very many packs of EMA anyway, so I'm just glad to see a couple more sweet uncommons to have a feasible chance at pulling: both PoP and Mesa Enchantress fit directly into casual decks I already have built. (To be fair, so does Argothian Enchantress, so I'd be perfectly okay with getting it as my rare/mythic in a pack - value doesn't matter nearly as much as playability.)
...actually, WG enchantress being confirmed as an archetype means there should be some solid inclusions at common, too, which is even more of a boon for my enchantments deck.

I like Enchantress but NOT at Mythic.Hey whats the excuse for her been at Mythic? What is it?Shes not flashy or epic in lore.I SERIOUSLLY doubt she's broken in limited so whats the excuse?
Sigh is still a great card and Price of Progress is ncie but im still salty at Enchanterss ben mythic...
To balance the value of cards. The reason for the mystic in this set is not to damage the value of the cards in the second market. Also wizards cannot keep offloading 100+ cards in the mystic slots without adding a few crap cards; otherwise card shops would not sell the packs or they'll wait a few months and sell the packs with a higher cost and say it's out of stock, that's why you're playing 50 dollars for a booster pack.
love the POP art and I wished new art for the enchantress
It is easy to find mythic level cards that actually deserve the slot over something than this and the card doesn't have to be $100+ and could be $20-$40. This is about as mythic as Comet Storm was in MM2. This was clearly not done for limited, which is mainly what this set is made for, unless there is a lot of good enchantments.

Which there will be (a lot of good enchantments) because they stated on day 2 that white/green draft is and enchantment draft strategy. Argothian is more than worth the price of admission based on MSRP pack prices.
It's kind of funny how one mana less and shroud makes the difference between a mythic and an uncommon. Rarity shifts, you so silly.
The uncommon shift of the Mesa Enchantress makes me happy, I might build a PDH deck around her now. There's a surprising amount of decent enchantment stuff at common, and given the fact there's an enchantment archetype in draft here maybe there will be some sweet common shifts.

Lets's not kid ourselves, the rarity difference has nothing to do with the abilities. It's purely a price thing.

That can't be a justification. There are common cards with shroud and Hexproof. She's just a 2 mana 0/1 that only does something if you cast an enchantment. I don't get it. She's not even a $$$ card so I can't even blame the rarity bump on price!

You are right, not sure why they are messing with the rarities like this. Mother of runes was just spoiled and she is now a rare card. Go figure...
We'll be remembering this spoiler season as the best one in the recent history of MtG, maybe the best ever. Every time I manage to close my jaw it falls again for other spoilers... and we should be far beyond the moment when bombs come out. Let's see the whole spoiler, but the set is a 10 so far. If only it wasn't so strictly limited print...

She is the best card drawing creature ever printed by far. At 2 mana she sneaks in under counterspells and then yous just cast Rancors and Wild Growths and thanks to shroud there's just nothing your opponent can do. I think she would have been fine at rare even for limited, but her power is without question.

When built around she's powerful, otherwise she's just a do-nothing 0/1. Doesn't really scream mythic to me. That's why I don't get the rarity. She just feels so lame and generic next to the power level of almost all of the other mythics that were spoiled so far. The exceptions would probably be Vampiric Tutor and Force of Will Those don't really feel very mythic either, but were obviously made mythic because $$$.

I dunno. Completely discounting value and just going for the win, and ASSUMING we get rancor at common, I'd first pick Enchantress. I definitely wouldn't for Karakas or either of red's mythics.

Well, to be fair, Comet Storm wasn't a $15-20 card when it got dropped into MM2015. This is. It's not a home-run mythic, but it's definitely worth the price of the booster. If you pull one, find your local unkempt EDH player and trade it to them for a bomb.

I'm guessing so too. Mesa Enchantress at uncommon is basically WotC saying "Look! You know you want to draft Enchantress hard! You know you love it! Ignore all those silly Chain Lightnings and stuff in this format, and live the dream!"
What the hell makes Argothian Enchantress a mythic?! I was happy to see it reprinted until I noticed that.
Not sure, maybe due to the fact she has shroud?
The shroud on Argothian Enchantress is actually a drawback in my mind.
So many times have I gone T2 Argothian, T3 draw Ancestral Mask.... awww crap, can't enchant it.
I suspect there's going to be a couple of disappointed people who experience this in Limited, and then go to toss Argothian in the trashcan. Truth be told, it's probably so that the thing survives such a harsh Limited environment (where I expect red and black would be able to blow it off the table on resolution had it not had shroud), but I find Enchantress's Presence the better deal at the kitchen table (as enchantment removal is less prevalent for me than creature removal). If they ever printed an Argothian variant with hexproof instead of shroud, I'll be there (but it'll probably be a $30+ mythic).
Gotta say that Argothian dies to Nausea pretty hard, too. That's going to suck in Limited. Welcome to the Enchantress train, everyone! Enjoy getting 3-for-1'ed!

You should of been there for MM1.
I was. This time we have no false hype for draft archetypes like WG Thallid at least, they left unuseful Limited fodder for the entire spoiler! Moreover, some of the reprints were a given at the time, because we were firmly convinced it could not have been different. Then MM2 arrived, and everything fell apart...
Yes, instead of WG thallid we have WG enchantments. To me this completely mirrors MM1. They made the same mistakes of very limited print run and several low or no value mythics. Though they seem to leave some power in the uncommons and commons. The two mistakes are sad because they had already learned that lesson the first time and corrected them in MM2 while making the mistake of getting rid of the needed uncommons and commons.
MM1 was also the first in this series so it was a lot more exciting than this, the 3rd installment in the series. At least for me. Don't get me wrong, I have been excited about each installment, but the first is the most novel.
I agree that MM2 fell apart. To me it wasn't as much fun to draft, and while they fixed the major complaints of MM1 they didn't learn from what made it a success as well.
