The art and flavor text have a kind of Innistradi feel to them (to me at least). Love it and love that it is getting reprinted.
Agreed on both counts.
I'm a little surprised at the... surprise this has generated.
If I had made a prediction list, this would have been on it
(though I expected Uncommon, not Rare).
I'm happy to see my second favorite LD (after Vindicate) with awesome new art.
It would be cool to see Ice Storm, too.
Maybe that could stay Uncommon since it's 3 mana?
Momir Vig, Simic Visionary
Melek, Izzet Paragon
Oona, Queen of the Fae
Bruna, Light of Alabaster
Gisela, Blade of Goldnight

I just can't believe anyone would think this should be uncommon have played with it/against it a lot, or just played formats where it was used.
Ahh. The old "they think differently than me so there must be something wrong with them" logic. I played it back in the day and I've played it in some fringe playable Legacy Pox lists. It's not really a great card, though it's one of my personal favorite MTG cards ever. That said, I've never played it in a limited format, and WOTC obviously hates LD nowadays, so I'm fine with the rarity shift.
That's solely because of the unique way Legacy is structured. NO land destruction spells are good when the meta is saturated with decks playing Delver, DRS, Aether Vial, etc. (Stifle being a unique case because it doesn't put you behind in tempo)
In any more general format not dominated by overpowered one-drops, Sinkhole is ridiculous
2-mana LD as anything more than a 1-of in draft is ridiculous. This isn't Legacy with super-strong mana-bases that can take repeated Wasteland/Sinkhole Hits (and plenty of Legacy decks have issues dealing with a double Wasteland...or Wasteland --> Sinkhole). Even having Hymn as an Uncommon is risky, if we're talking about cards that can define game on their own.
But yes, Mono-B is looking nuts. All we need is Carnophage and some 3-drop value creature (Looking at you Vampire Nighthawk) and I can't see why you'd draft anything other than Bx.
Agreed on both counts.

Reprint Stasis!
Control needs more love.
