Bleh, but not too bad I guess. At worst it is a nice burn spell on legs.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Wait till you open one of these bad boys in a pack. Aint worth 10 bucks you paid wizards.
I'm just hoping my packs total $10 in value, if they do I'll be semi-"happy". This guy might beat for a bit or trade with a Giant Tortoise. ugh.

they are not spiders but they are of the arachnid family which spiders are a part of. This is just an oversight on Wizards as they either didn't realize the difference between insect and arachnids or them just not caring enough to differentiate the two.

It wouldn't be the first time they mismatched the art with what the card actually did. Like Whippoorwill. It's a bird that doesn't fly and yet it's shown mid-flight. Many people assumed Bronzebeak Moa had flying too.

Except when you open it with a chain lightning, or cabal therapy. If you judge the EV of the product by the rares you are going to be unhappy every time. The value of this set has to be in the common and uncommons or you are always going to lose.

that is exactly what I'm interested in seeing. we're halfway through the rares, and nearly all mythics but the commons and uncommons have barely been spoiled. I'm really interested in them. and lol if they include serum visions in here
Yep should have been downgraded. I also have a feeling this won't be the last jank rare we see soon.

Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
I'm a little confused as to why (nearly?) all of the Modern-legal cards spoiled so far have been jank. If they wanted to save the good stuff for Modern Masters 3, why not just keep the set entirely pre-8th edition? If they want to include Modern cards, why not throw in Damnation or Snapcaster?

Pretty much anything in Innistrad or RTR won't be included because MM3 will have those sets in it, if the pattern continues, and putting Snapcaster in now would make them not put it in MM3, for some reason. I guess reprinting something good twice in two years is too much, but Wolfbriar Elemental and Terastodon can be reprinted 2 or 3 times in a year.

Eh those uncommons are the most valuable we've seen spoiled so far and both are preordering for well below $10 already and are likely to continue dropping as more are opened. Which commons are worth anything? We haven't seen much yet but the spoiled ones are worthless so far.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

But they are not insects? I think. Still arachnids, just not spiders.

Nah, but in all seriousness, this is a cool throwback card. I would have loved to see it at uncommon, though, so I could get my beats on in Limited.
