Commander makes sense since they've tinkered with it at some events, could be some market research. Commander would be AMAZING and would bring back a lot of players like myself who've fallen off the wayside...
Problem with competitive Commander (been doing this for a while at the local level) is that people will just Ad Nauseam or so on as quickly as possible. If they were going to make Commander a competitive entity, and Sheldon has said they (the Rules Committee)have no intention of doing so, they'd need to ban a whole mess of tutors and combo enablers. I don't see this as feasible.
An official Duel Commander format with separate rules and bans from regular Commander could work. They could even just bring on the French team like they did with the RC for regular Commander.
Tin foil hat time...
What's the oldest card in BBD's siege rhino/avacyn abzan deck from over the weekend?
Could he have an inside scoop that led him to test that list, and then he ended up running with it?
Tarmogoyf and a Worship in the sideboard. Looking at his list, its a normal Abzan list, no weird lands or anything, just has two Avacyns in it as a value curve topper.

Correction for you. I got one thing wrong out of about 20 spoils so far... The green black man land. All from the same source.

Why the **** you lyin? I remember when you posted a UB Jace as if it were real when a user on this very forum said it was a custom card he created.
Yeah, he's definitely been wrong more than once, but he has still been right more often than wrong. Not to mention there was speculation about Wizards doing just this a while ago. Eternal Masters would make a lot more sense if this were the case, too. Who knows. If he's right, we'll know by friday.
It should be pretty clear that he had legit information in the beginning, and everything after was speculation.
You missed his spoiling of Undergrowth Champion.
But to be fair he also messed up the wording and mana cost on it and got Gideon's middle ability wrong. Also to call a ban on the Eldrazi deck shouldn't really be counted because, EVERYONE knew that was coming. That puts him at 4 flat out right and 2 flat out wrong with muddled information on his 'right' ones, so that puts his credibility at somewhere around 66% accurate so take what you will.
Oops, you're right. I lost my post and tried to recreate it from memory.
My point is that all of those BFZ leaks came from the same instance. They should be counted as one leak for the sake of determining accuracy, imo.
If you count all of this BFZ leaks as one then his credibility drops significantly, He only has 3 v 2, with inaccurate information mixed into this correct ones so he is barely above 50% trust-able.
I must apologize for not adding his call on eternal masters to my first post so counting individual spoils he sits at 5 right 2 wrong 1 obvious, so he has a nice 70ish% favor-ability but if you count his entire first reveal as one then he drops to only about 50%. Though I can't find the Omnath that he says he spoiled long before others did.
If this is true, Pauper is the only thing that makes sense. WotC has seemingly gone out of its way to stock EMA with Pauper staples.
Non-RL Legacy? Really?
1. There is a LEGACY GP scheduled the weekend of EMA's release. It makes ZERO sense that they would destroy the format and alienate the player-base.
2. Since Eternal Masters got announced, lots and lots of people have gotten really excited about Legacy. Lots of people have shelled out hard-earned cash to buy a few dual-lands, or Mox Diamonds or whatever. WotC isn't stupid, and they're not going to give all these people a giant "f*ck you."
3. The original Eternal Masters leaker (I'm personally unclear whether this is the same person) claimed that enemy fetches were in the set. They are clearly not, based on the number crunch. So even IF this person has a source, it's not entirely dependable.
4. Wizards just announced a huge push for Legacy Leagues on MODO, one that involves dual lands for prizes. Seems like an odd thing to do if they were planning to kill the format.
5. Aaron Forsythe specifically tweeted that Eternal (non-RL Legacy) was not a format, real or imaginary.
6. The whole idea of a non-RL Legacy has ZERO basis in fact. It's a pure example of the internet hive mind at work, and blew up as wishful thinking that over-extrapolated meaning from the announcement of "Eternal Masters." That's it. It has zero basis in reality.
It makes sense. They just announced they were doing away with Modern for Pro Tours, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them ramping down support for Modern in favour of something new.
Paper pauper makes the most sense. It already has somewhat of a paper following. Would also provide an official stance on how paper vs online rarity discrepancies should be handled.
I figured out how wotc is gonna ruin the game.... they're going to give us the single best batch of reprints they've ever given us, then they're going to make a new format where the only banned cards are eternal masters. This set has y'all up in arms. This set is bonkers. Get off home for trying to add some to the party. Even if he's wrong, who cares? We're still getting this ridiculous set
I'd like a commons + uncommons format, replacing Pauper which is overly stale.
Especially considering that new commons are typically rather boring thanks to NWO.
Rarities in newer sets definitely feel like Mythic/Rare/Uncommon/Limited Chaff. A format of common/uncommon would be MUCH more interesting!
As much as I love burn... a no reserve list legacy is a burn player's wet dream.
I do think if wizards is planning on making a new format they are going to use the modern list and add the eternal masters cards to the list (maybe it's restricted to all new borders)... but I still think it's a hard pill to swallow when you have cards like balance legal.
as for duals... wizards can make up a new set of duals (not using original names) when they make commander sets.
They killed off online Legacy Tribal Wars as a separate format earlier this year, collapsing it into Legacy proper. This move now makes more sense if we correctly speculate that they knew Tribal wasn't worth the bother to maintain given known-to-them upcoming changes to Legacy.
It makes sense. They just announced they were doing away with Modern for Pro Tours, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them ramping down support for Modern in favour of something new.
Not long to wait to see anyways.
Modern no longer being at the PT level has nothing to do with a new format. I doubt any format besides standard will ever make it to the PT now.

I'd be glad about No RL Legacy, already went through 3 30+ people tournaments with pals and it's fun.
I'd be fine with All Modern-Frame Legal, because I love the stupid OP ***** that can happen when you have Sol Ring, Demonic Tutor and Balance but no Moxen, Recall and Lotus.
M15 Onwards would be Jace the Jacening with ***** mana. Not worth a dime.

Here's a wild guess - new Format: Legacy + forced Ante
Everybody rushes to replace their duals with Shocks because those are cheaper to lose, and the 2 life isn't always relevant.
I've always wanted a format where it was sets based on certain planes. I know they'd probably never do this, but make it so there was like, a specific "Ravnica" tournament, and you could use any cards from either Ravnica Block or Return to Ravnica. Give me a tournament for each plane!
I'm skeptical that this is true, but I just ordered the rest of the shocklands I need in case it turns out to be accurate. Maybe that was his plan all along.

My local community have a paper pauper magic tournament every week, i just bought all the format pool of pauper for play it and for play whit some friends, its a very good format and very cheap for play in paper like 120.00€ all the pool (including bolts, delver, probe, dark ritual, pyro/hydroblast ...)
