I really should have sold my 10 Strix when they were worth $20 each
Glad to see Regal Force- foils of that are stupid expensive,
and even though I have one, I'd love one without the super dark foiling they used in SHA-EVE.

Rare on Strix!? Come on. this is a set with cards like Top, Vampiric tutor, Sneak Attack and Balance. Strix is really OP at uncommon? :/
Very happy about the Regal Force reprint though. I've been needing an extra copy for Omnath but I was too cheap to pick up another copy so I've just been switching mine between decks.
Yay for two more great cards in this set, allthough seeing strix as a rare makes me cry a little. I miss the time where uncommons were allowed to be good, it's one of the reasons why I love the first modern masters so much.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
Strix has to be rare for 2 reasons:
1)psychatog.
2)it is very very powerful in limited. Way too efficient!
Calling BS on both of those reasons.
Firstly, we have no proof Psychatog is even here.
As far as limited goes- yes, it's efficient,
but so is Animate Dead, and it's still Uncommon (and only a single color).

Eternal Masters is quickly becoming my favorite MTG set in a long time. So much power and so many fond memories.

Honestly the archenemy/commander rarity has always been random anyway, not surprised, and happier to see it at rare than not see it at all.
Yeah, Commander puts rare stamps on virtually anything and so on, the rarities are really wonky in those supplemental sets. Glad to see Strix back though, and foil Strixi? Sweet!
Hope Regal Force means we see some kind of cheat effect like Tooth or Natural Order.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
With the bump in rarity for Strix, I'm surprised Regal Force wasn't a mythic. Glad that it's not, but man. Strix would be baller at uncommon. I have a couple from planechase, and really really don't want this super efficient speed bump to be a rare.

Animate Dead is not a powerful card in draft unless there are good uncommon/common reanimation targets. If all the good Reanimation targets are rare and mythic, then its jut a solid card.
Can I get one damn set that isn't warped around drafting? Getting very sick of the "hurr durrr limited environment" argument.
Hell, Strix might have moved more packs at uncommon. At any rate, glad it's getting reprinted, because I didn't even want to pay the $6.00 or whatever for them.

Market studies have shown people will draft anything sold in boosters, so for quite a while now anything sold in boosters has been "warped around drafting."
The biggest milestone I can recall was the work done for Unhinged, which I believe was tuned to better support draft as opposed to Unglued where WotC learned the lesson about how anything sold in boosters, even novelty joke sets, will in fact be used for drafting.

Especially with sets like this I don't get why they have to be "draftable". Why can't we get a straight up reprint set that doesn't care about limited?

There are some people who like to complain. There are many people who like to think of themselves as Wizards' amateur spokesperson and defend every bad decision the company makes. I hope both sides can agree that Strix should be uncommon.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Solid choices. Props to Wizards on bringing these 2 back.

Woo, now I have a foil printing to put into my Legacy deck!
Bro, Use your brain. No way they would print that at rare. It needs to be mythic.
I would be stoked about the regal reprint if I thought it could put a dent in the price.
