Cavern Harpy is part of a tier 2-3 Legacy deck that actually see's play. Alluren. So I fully expect cavern Harpy to be in this set.
I can't remember the last time I saw anybody play Aluren in Legacy--maybe like 2011? In any event, it actually turns out that Aluren is on the Reserve List anyway, so it's not going to be in this set, and ergo I'd imagine that neither is Cavern Harpy.
Land Tax isn't useless is limited. It fixes your mana and things out your deck, it also ensures you always hit land drops.
Perhaps "ZERO application" was a bit harsh, and maybe that's even less true in an environment like this that isn't going to be as strictly combat-oriented as others. That having been said, Land Tax only truly becomes busted when you pair it with Sroll Rack; otherwise it's kind of underwhelming--especially when you consider what the other colors besides maybe red are getting at mythic.

Martin Goldman-Kirst played Aluren to a top 8 finish at GP Tacoma 2015.
This is a wild guess, but it's pretty likely that with GW being enchantress and taking into account the preference for non-Modern legal cards, the card above Baleful Strix is Armadillo Cloak. The card is somewhat iconic, is a Pauper staple, and hasn't been reprinted in ages.
Is Akroma, Angel of Wrath out of the crunch? Being an iconic card, a Reanimator target, and given that White doesn't have that much mythics to pick from unless you upgrade Thalia or SFM, I find it plausible.

considering Auriok more of a modern card, plus the usefulness of Midcensor in a limited with a lot of tutors and the possibility of its first reprint in a normal frame i think that he wins the #01 slot

Yes i didn't expect aluren But like we have seen sneak attack but show and tell doesn't seem to be in the set. just cause 1 card of a deck is in doesn't mean that every card needs to be in. Cavern Harpy is an ok limited card to go with the fact that its part of a legacy deck. remember this is supposed to be a limited first set. Ravenous rats+cavern Harpy was amazing in IPA limited together. Would not be shocked if we see both come together again here as we have yet to see any little creatures and tricks yet for limited) But even if Ravenous rats isn't in the set Cavern Harpy+any CIP effect is usually really good in limited.
I see many people hoping for Stoneforge Mystic, but there are no equipment in the set, not even Batterskull to justify it's inclusion. I just don't see it happening, or am I missing something?
we are currently at 60/249 cards, so less than 1/4 of the set. it's still plenty of room to get some equip in R/U/C slot, and if karakas has to be counted as the second white mythic the last Mythic slot can be an equip (Batterskull for example)

CF and SCG just got cleaned out of Glimpse of Nature. Saito already bumped them to $35. There are still 50ish copies left on TCG for under $20; you guys should hop on that. I would if I had change.
thinking of it, i hope so, I alredy have a butterskull, but I traded away all my jitte form kamigawa, it would be good to get one back (with an upgraded art maybe)

There are at most 23 colorless artifacts between #216 (Giant Solifuge) and #240 (Karakas), and six are already accounted for. Again, Ashnod's Altar + Chrome Mox eliminate Batterskull.

I thought equipment were numbered along with the other artifacts, making Batterskull not possible anymore?
218 Ashnod's Altar U
219 Chrome Mox M
Also any swords would be kinda silly, and some random uncommon equipment wouldn't really make sense either. I also agree that Jitte would just be a terror in Limited, which they tend to think about a lot (too much IMO).
my bad, didn't check the number of altar, so batterskull is out. jitte can be a terror but at mythic it's supposed to be seen a lot less (same explanation of other mythic)

The set has Mana Crypt. They aren't afraid to print utterly, completely unfair bombs at mythic in this Limited environment. JtMS isn't too far behind in power level either.
I played a lot of VMA limited and never saw a player lose after casting Mana Crypt or Sol Ring on turn 1, and only once did I see someone lose after a turn 1 Mox.
At least with Jitte, you can contain the damage it does by casting artifact removal. Card is still an insane bomb (better than JtMS) but it isn't like Mana Crypt or (in VMA) Skullclamp.

What prompted this? (Trying to understand whether it ties into something gleaned from the Number Crunch.)
There's 2 of each color mythic. They aren't going to randomly have three mythic artifacts and only 1 white or green card. That means it has to be rare and that is never happening ever.

Green Sun's Zenith (and Gaea's Blessing) ruled out Glimpse in the number crunch. Any good card ruled out is going to spike. Counterbalance is another one but there are a lot more copies of that floating around than Glimpse. Plus, they're pushing the Elves theme in EM so people will want their Glimpses and Cradles.

Karakas could be counted as white...
For the missing green mythic, my guess is on Oath of Druids or Survival of the Fittest...
Pretty sure Survival is on the reserve list despite the judge foil. My guess is either Oath or Berserk
UBRKess, Dissident MageUBR - Controlling Dissidents
GRhonas the IndomitableG - Indomitable Four Drops
WUBOloro, Ageless AsceticWUB - Loot & Renanimate

Gaea's Blessing is already at #168, so this rules out a whole pile of things, including:

Burning Wish is down to only one potential slot... but it's pretty much only competing with Butcher Orgg.

Not yet, but it would have to be #1 (as Balance is #2). There's a few hoping for Aven Mindcensor or Auriok Champion in that slot, too.

I think those are more likely to see print in MM3, or in the case of Mindcensor even in a Standard set.

Craterhoof Behemoth is a key part of Elves ......
Pretty sure Survival is on the reserve list despite the judge foil. My guess is either Oath or Berserk
Survival is definitely Reserved.
Oath is a possibility but would be disappointing given its relatively low cost and Legacy illegality.
Berserk is a possibility but could feasibly be Rare.
Craterhoof Behemoth is actually a reasonable possibility as well.
