Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
So I have been whining for the last 3 months about how they need to reprint Mana Crypt but it will probably never happen...
Then I woke up from my nap and saw this spoiler.
Then I let out a triumphant "YESSSSSSSSSS!"
Thank you so much WoTC, you finally did it. In case any one was wondering, before they reprinted this in EMA there were less Mana Crypt printed than Beta Black Lotus.
Every EDH player rejoices at the sight of this. Best Masters set EVAR!!!!!!!
is that in English only or less printed in all languages combine? Cause it got printed in multiple languages.
That cheer you just heard? That was your local Commander player.
Absolutely not.
This set is ultra limited to the extreme.
I'm expecting to be unable to get a box for less than double MSRP.
I might as well just buy all the cards that are being printed in it with how expensive and unavailable it will be.
Is it expected to be more limited than the last Modern Masters? There's certainly going to be more demand for this set than there was for the last one, so I really hope they don't decide to drop the supply of it after the problems that happened with the first Modern Masters.
I'm apprehensive at the prospect of more Mana Crypts in EDH. I mean, it's a cool old card and I'm glad they're reprinting it, but EDH really doesn't need more fast mana. We'll see much this makes the price drop.
I got 28 boxes of Modern Masters 2015, albeit I think I was initially promised 20 and some shops backed out, and this time I'm allocated 16 and hoping for extra. Seems smaller.

So this means that Mana Crypt is no longer super banned in Legacy only normal banned. Well there goes the piece of random trivia.
For those that don't know what I'm talking about this is how the card pool of Legacy is currently officially defined.
Legacy decks may consist of cards from all Magic card sets, plus the following cards: Sewers of Estark, Windseeker Centaur, and Nalathni Dragon (Mana Crypt would also be included were it not currently banned – see below).

One step closer to being unbanned in legacy.

Agree, at least down here most people tend to play Duel Commander. So I'm not as worried for it, I'll probably grab 1 copy for Multi Player lists if the price is right, but I do agree, If anything, EDH needed less access to fast mana. As it stands, this is gonna bring more consistency to my Turn 1 3 player kill mono black deck.
As an EDH player I should be rejoicing at this, but remembering the effect Master Sets have on their own Mythics and the fact that Crypt is easily one of the "ubiquitous" cards of the format should it become easily accessible, I'm sort of already defeated of the idea of getting several foils, so ironically this might be one of those cards I'm skipping instead.

People is pushing the price up already with the pre orders, this might settle in its originial price after a couple of months. Honestly I've always found mana crypts available online, but of course never on an acceptable price range (under 50 bucks would be my sweetspot).

Ahhh, but I go for the foils straight if I don't already own the card as a policy (because it saves more in the long run). Doubt the foil's going down much and due to its ubiquitous nature, almost every deck I have is going to be scrambling for it. Not sure how much the EDH fervor will impact the first Eternal Masters's Mythics as Modern did for the first Modern Masters (which went up instead), but I'm going to assume the worst initially (although I'm going to keep monitoring the situation, there's a lot of delicious foils I want to snipe at their lowest prices for EDH already).
What will the price settle at? The only reason that it is nearly as expensive as it currently is is because the demand far outstrips the limited supply.
Of course, this is a limited print run, so it may still stick in the $50-$60 range, if not higher.
It's actually so high right now because speculators and vendors bought them up (gotta love that side of magic...not) to hike the price assuming no reprint.
It was 30 euros 3 months ago.
Mana Crypt hasn't been widely available under $100 since January 2014.
I guess all those 30-40 euro mana crypts my friends and I looked at/purchased were a figment of our imagination then.
EU and US market are VERY different, I saw card that costed 30+$ going at less than 10euro
right now a black borded mana crypt is at 65+ euros on mkm and at 169$ median on tcgplayer

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!
Wait, really? I thought you were just a great troll.
English only mah bad
