I mean, I guess at least Necro is played? It was obvious by the set being named "Eternal" that they were going to find some low value Vintage only staples to make mythic....
So when are we going to start getting the spoilers for the limited draft fodder that will inevitably be in this set? I suppose they want to wait for more preorders to go through first.
I doubt wizards is worried about preorders. They know the set will sell. Preorders don't do anything for wizards. They are already sold in their eyes when they make it to store shelves.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
Yeah, you're right. There's no way they judge the success of a set by how many players enjoyed/bought it from distributors. After distributors buy the set, they totally don't care what players think. They only put Mana Crypt in so distributors would buy it. Definitely. For sure. Yeah, Wizards has zero reason to care about whether players buy it or not. My apologies for being so myopic.
Sigh...let me temper my lack of enthusiasm by saying, in purely an informational way, that I had no problem cracking Deathrites during Return to Ravnica. I don't know if I could handle it if I opened it as my rare. Also temper that by the understanding I will be cracking few, if any, packs based on current MSRP and likely actual RP.
Why? I realize Deathrite isn't an overly expensive card right now, but it's a pillar of Legacy. This is not Endrek Sahr.

I have no clue what your problem is, but you are not worth my time.
These are probably stupid questions I could find the answers to, but:
How many weeks of spoilers are there? Just one?
Is this set going to have any modern legal cards that are eternally relevent - Snapcaster, Liliana , etc?

Just 1 week of spoilers meaning this friday the full set will be revealed Goblin Charbelcher is legal in all eternal formats + modern so is possible for those cards

OK, let me try to be more clear. From a purely self-serving point of view, Deathrite doesn't excite me. Not because of monetary value, not because it isn't a staple of multiple formats, but because I have at least 2 full playsets from RtR. So, there you have it. I would rather crack a pack with a lower value rare that I have no copies of, keeping in mind I likely will crack few, if any packs.
no idea on why reprint Necropotence though...
it's crazy powerful, sure, but banned in legacy, restricted in vintage, doesn't see any play because of that, it's not expensive or anything.
seems only to be there so you get angry when your mythig rare is a necropotence.
Necropotence is a bit of a let down, but I guess not all of the mythics will be pure homeruns. The rest are fine though.
Ah, my young padawans... never, ever, ever sleep on Necropotence.
If Dark Ritual is in this set, even at Uncommon, 'Potence is probably close to a Limited first-pick. It's banned in Legacy and restricted in Vintage for a damned good reason.
I suspect 'Potence is probably going to be this set's Mirran Crusader from MM2015. People look at it and think "why the hell did they reprint a card that's barely worth a dollar?"... and then they suit it up in draft, go undefeated thanks to it and a new person falls in love with it.

Honestly, Deathrite Shaman is going to be one of those cards that will be highly playable (in everything other than modern, being banned) for the foreseeable future. It will probably rise in price over time (despite being reprinted here), so I wouldn't feel too stink about opening one of these. I have held onto two playsets plus a foil of DRS just because of how sweet the card is, and I know I'll play them or sell them one day.

I have Forces and Wastelands, so I think this set is unoriginal garbage. I own certain cards, so why should they be printed again? Useless....
I am kind of disappointed in Deathrite because it is only a few years old but it isn't legal in Modern so I understand it here. Bloodbraid makes no sense really because it doesn't see play anywhere now (It did in Modern when it was legal) and is moderately powered in Limited so congrats?
The rest so far are fantastic although my hopes of a Demonic Tutor reprint are likely crushed with Necro taking a Mythic slot but oh well.
Demonic Tutor was an uncommon in the Duel Deck. I could see it being a possible rare in this set just because of what Wizards is putting in the Mythic spots.
A duel deck and a set that will have a Limited environment are two different things. Tutor is way too powerful to be an UC and more than likely so for Rare. It would need to be a mythic because of power level. Necropotence is more powerful and is at Mythic level.
First, I said rare.
Second, Rare is a possibility because part of what makes Tutors powerful is the cards that they tutor for. In a Limited format, generally the best thing they can tutor for is a three drop. That's not to say that two mana for any card is not powerful on its own with the potential to warp formats, but I doubt players will be able to string enough spells together to make it live to its full potential.

See what I did there?
Yes, you are extremely clever and deserve all pats on the back you give yourself.
I am however, going retract part of my previous statement now that Control Magic has been spoiled at rare. Deathrite doesn't seem so disappointing now compared against the few dozen copies of Control Magic I already own. I guess on I'm on the express train to Singlesville since I wouldn't have the appropriate language to publicly express my frustration in cracking a $10+ Control Magic.
