Awww...
I really hope the previews will be worth it, because I am really starting to be not happy about this...
Well, a valid guess is that we will have the Nephilims in these decks, so they should be in the spoilers anyway
They should be re-errated long long ago.
But 0 spoilers is not good. I think the hype is long dead and people even forgot that some C16 is coming out.
Also I am not sure if they will include all Nephilims in all decks. Maybe they will, but if the nephilim is completely out of the idea of the whole deck, will they put him in?
I for one hope the Nephilim don't show up. They... are pretty bad. That is a waste of space. There is no huge demand for these cards aside from just having an errta text saying they can be used as commanders. I am talking about the origin original versions. If they make better versions of them then fine.

We were at quite the Magic high lately. Shadows, Conspiracy, then Kaladesh. Then... big gap of nothing. Like not even a hint or some sort of designers blog about what they have in store. Give me anything aside from "this will blow your mind." They say that everytime. Sometimes they are right... sometimes they are so freaking wrong (Megamorph anyone?)
One thing I do hope for is that whatever this new idea is, can translate to non commander products. A new way to determine color identity without the usual color symbol in mana cost or activation cost. Granted we might not get it but... the way Maro hyped it up does make me excited as well as skeptical.

As someone said, it will be something really good or something epically bad, because they are holding all information.
Are they not satisfied with their own product? Or they don't care? More and better communication would be good.
I know that spoilers will be today, but for next time.
I would like to hear the reasoning behind 0 spoilers and then whole spoilers in 1 week.
But I think, if they don't spoil all generals + new cards today, people will kill them.
Here in Italy (CEST time zone) the Mothership usually is updated around 5 PM. I hope some other site around the world is getting some early spoilers! I've waited way too long!
We are in the same boat man, it's a matter of hours. So excited.
I'm surprised there was no slip ups this year... very tight in terms of having no leaks. At least last year there was a slight slip with the Boros general. I hope we get a good preview and not some whack preview... of a preview.
I was under the impression that Asia being ahead in the time zone, selected vendors would get (and reveal) news earlier.
It's the same time spoilers always start. (less than an hour from now)
I don't get why people got worked up about the asia thing; timezone has never mattered for
Card reveals. It'd be silly if it did because we'd just translate it and they'd lose their carefully crafted reveal.

Every company likes to tease things out. Movies have trailers, Apple has their formulaic reveals, WotC has spoiler season.
I would be interested to see them diversify how they spoil things as their current formula is pretty stale. I am sure many of you have seen the Nintendo Switch teaser which was just a 3-4min video of people using the system. No pretentious press conference, no cryptic teasers, just some people enjoying the next Nintendo. Didn't need to provide every detail, but it gave you what the system is all about.
What if WotC had a video of people drafting the new set of never before seen cards?
Shake it up WotC!
Partner seems to be something that is very easily abused - or the powerlevel of individual cards needs to be actually subpar. But having not 1, but two commanders is means you can do so many more combos.
I'm wondering though - how does it work with commander tax?
Also with amount of keywords atraxa, praetor's voice got she lends herself perfectly for a voltron deck? Heck even without that proliferate she is quite mana efficient and "good stuff". And, did they just print a card with flanking? I thought that was retired long ago.
It explains commander text in the wizards article. Taxes are paid tracking the individual commanders. So if Commander A died once, you would pay 2 extra for it, but if you haven't yet cast Commander B, you aren't paying the tax on it. Commander damage is also tracked separately. The individual commander needs to deal 21. If you do 20 with A and 1 with B, you still haven't finished the job.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
I doubt any of the partner commanders are going to be good enough to change the rules for. I actually kind of like that about them; not good enough to be commanders on their own, but good enough as a modal creature.

MTGSalvation; Where the whining is a time honored tradition, and enjoying the game is trolling.
Well partner is (so far) a numbers-game. Since it's a very limited mechanic (I wonder if the mechanic would even be applicable to future sets) there will be like 5*4 = 20 creatures with partner. (Following the idea of each deck having 3 commanders, so one 4 colour and 2 sets partners).
Since the number of cards is so small they can indeed prevent any broken combos (similar to how the PW commanders can be prevented to be too broken). However it is a mechanic that stretches the most basic rule of commander, and thus might lead to utterly broken decks.
4 Commander cards per deck.
1 Myffic 4 color
1 Myffic ally partner
2 Enemy partners, one myffic and one rare.

The partner commanders look rather weak on their own and even together (with the ones present so far) so I think Wizards is going to tread carefully to make sure thathat having two commanders won't be a simple one -two punch combo deal.
I am a bit disappointed if this is what they were saying was so easy that they should have done it years ago... players have been messing around with both Syggs or both Mirris as "partner" commanders for years.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
To recap, there are five decks for Commander (2016 Edition). Each deck will focus on four colors. Each deck will contain fifteen new cards (although note that some new cards may appear in more than one of the decks). Among these fifteen new cards, each deck will have:
*A four-color legendary creature (new characters but from known worlds) printed at mythic rare
*An allied two-color legendary creature with partner (characters from Magic's past that haven't yet been printed as cards) printed at mythic rare
*Two enemy two-color legendary creatures with partner (characters from Magic's past that haven't yet been printed as cards that are creatively linked to one another), one printed at mythic rare and the other at rare

I'm in two minds about this whole thing. On one hand, I like the idea of Partner and the flexibility it brings to the table. On the other hand, I'm quite unhappy they did it now and cut into "proper" 4 colour space.
Yes, yes, MaRo justifies it in his article. He says how designing 4 colour cards is hard. He brings up a bunch of examples they tried. He mentions trying things with activated abilities, and how the design space ran out super quick. The old guildmages were tricolour and everything was a-ok. Add a fourth colour and make the abilities somewhat relevant and you have a second cycle of legends, as I'm pretty sure you could coax enough room out of the design space to make one cycle. There. Two cycles of "true" 4 colour legends for decks to run. Two new legends per box has been the norm for a while now, so it would have been a-ok.
