So...riggers and contraptions anyone? Will we be...assembling decks?
Im leaning toward Atogs.
I came to M:tG after the time of Atogs, so I don't really know much about them. I just remember the Rigger card from Future Sight and it has vexed me ever since I first read it's crazed text.
I suspect this might be a sneaky hint for Kaladesh:

Elephants are my favorite and I would like to request that next time we see a group of elephants like the loxodon we can get a lord or some tribal support. Do you think that this is something we will see in the future?

It was created as a joke that has become a thing where people actually want to see it happen.
Atogs are creatures that 'eat' permanents or cards from your hand in order to power up. Maro LOVES them, and a new artifact-centric set is a good place to introduce them.

Elephants are already confirmed for Kaladesh, given that a clockwork elephant is on the cover of the art book.
I hope Kaladesh doesn't go too far with elephants. I don't particularly want to see Loxodon. It's one of those stereotypical things people think about when they think India, though, so it's almost a shoe-in.
Hey, how about a GW Loxodon legend? Then Elephant tribal fans finally get a card.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I was looking through Gatherer and came across the Arcbound creatures, totally forgetting they exist, then I wondered if Modular would be in this, if Kaladesh is as artifact heavy as Origins lead us to believe. Arcbound isn't necessarily Mirrodin only, if all Arcbound stuff is is a construct with energy keeping it together, electricity and other things.
If not then I expect a Clockwork (like Clockwork Hydra)creature of some sort.

It's certainly possible, but I don't think Modular lines up with the artifact flavor of Kaladesh. In the original Mirrodin block, modular represented the idea of combining robots that can assemble and reassemble themselves at will. Most of the Kaladesh cards from Origins focused more on the artificers than the artifacts, which isn't very compatible with a mechanic that represents artifacts that build themselves.
In my opinion Wizards killed all the masculine representation.
The majority of Kaladesh collection is represented by women. Garruk disappeared since 2013.
Garruk is the most masculine PW ever created.
My opinion is sjws "attacked" Wotc, like Marvel,DC and other entertainment products.

That about sums that up, right?
(Note that I say this, as a man myself.)
While I think the main complaint is stupid in and of itself, this line of thinking is even worse. It's ok to marginalize a group because other groups have been marginalized? I'm a dude, and I love Chandra as a character, who the heck cares what gender a character is, as long as they are interesting and multidimensional, unlike Gideon. If we have an all male pw, block later or another all female pale block it's definitely not because of sjw,s or menimists, it's because that fits the story best.
Garruk should be in the gatewatch .Not nissa.
Early magic versions garruk represents the green color. Not nissa.
Ob Nixilis IS a man who got cursed by the CHAIN VEIL and that transformed him into the monster he is today. So please tell me how that's any different than Garruk?
Garruk is represented by human form (not cursed)
Ob Nixilis most of the time is a demon form.
Garruk is mono green first pw. Why discard a classic pw?
Garruk is represented by his cursed form. Because that's the form we've seen him in classic years. Your initial argument was about gender but the gender representation on planeswalker is relatively even. But then you moved on to aesthetics? I'm a little confused as to what you're actual issue is with anything. We have Gideon, the typical brawny man, and Jace, the typical brainy guy. Are we at a loss for green planeswalker on a whole? Yes. Yes we are. Masculinity in the game is lost once we hit the first set that is headlined by a female cast, IGNORING that the very next set reintroduces all the main male characters, including some extra like Ajani, Tezzeret and even Nicol Bolas. Mostly female cast for 3 months and the world is coming down? Somehow Garruk/Ob Nixilis aren't in exactly the same circumstances despite being cursed in the exact same way by the exact same thing? Garruk got his own sethe, with his own cut out and his own Nerf product. He got the attention he deserved. And it would be great to see him again, I agree. But your argument is...incomplete.
I am a man, I am a proud feminist and I cannot even start to see the relevance the discussion of whether the magic universe is not "really masucline" (seen as a good thing) enough and "too feminine" (obviously seen as a bad thing).
I cannot believe people are still perpetuing old-fashioned stereotypes about what being "masucline" and being "feminine" are supposed to mean exclusively. Hey, it's 2016.
I find WOTC's universe to be on the whole quite well balanced for a high fantasy universe.
Man, I would not have expected this to be the topic when coming to the 'aether revolt and kaldesh' thread lol

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
Yes I know, but I explained kaladesh have a lot of women in cards.Much more women than other sets.
I remember some people saying something similar around Theros because of Elspeth and Kiora and Ashiok being prominently featured as planeswalkers, plus heroic greek warrior women. But, some stories have more female characters, some stories have more male leads, just depends on the creative needs at the time.
