More artifacts makes my Daretti EDH quite happy. I do look forward to a plane that we haven't visited much, a nice breath of fresh air after how dreadful BFZ was and all that dead stuff in Innistrad.
Should we be worried that they have learnt nothing from the BFZ and printing way too many Eldrazies and does the exact same thing with Kaladesh and Thopters all over?
I don't think so, all that is known that was something powerful broke the plane into the five shards long ago and Bolas spent a lot of time planning in order to get the Plane slammed back together (for his own benefit since he wanted to siphon the energy that would erupt as a result).
Considering the Shards did survive for so long, I would think it's a natural plane, as artificial planes needed a lot of maintenance to stop themselves from falling apart.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Dear god, why did they announce EVERYTHING AT ONCE? They could've easily announced one of these products per week during this month-long news lull.
I actually like this Announcement Day regime. Now it'll be easier not to habitually check for news several times a day just in case they've announced something new. Now there's basically those two days a year plus spoiler seasons. Early leaks seem to be rarer than before too, which is actually good for everyone. All in all a positive development imho.

It seems everyone is assuming this will be an artifact dominated set but just because Origins gave Kaladesh an artifact theme.
Yeah, I don't see why a plane where active spellcasting is outlawed, mana sources are heavily controlled, and everyone does everything with fantastic artifice skills would be an artifact heavy plane.
Green will more than likely care the least about artifacts, black will utilize them for it own gain, white will care about them in regards to everyone's well being, and blue will absolutely care about artifacts.
Red will hate or love artifacts but only in connection to another color.
And while it won't be as artifact heavy as Mirrodin, it will be closer to what Esper was in Alara. Very noticeable but not the definition of the entire focus of the set.

I think one of the best ways for this set to distinguish itself from mirrodin and Esper is just to reiterate on the common theme of kaladesh in origins and make this the set that is about artifact tokens and have a lot of the non-artifact creatures, enchantments and lands create artifact tokens. This way it can still care about artifacts, but cards like Etherium Sculptor won't reduce most of their mana costs.
Kaladesh is apparently a plane with diverse ethnicity. deal with it.
I think we're all "dealing with it" fine. Kaladesh is confirmed to be a very diverse plane. That's awesome. I think the qualm is that Chandra appears to be explicitly of mixed-race origin and yet that isn't necessarily reflected in her appearance. It's unlikely they planned her heritage all the way back when she was introduced in Lorwyn, so they didn't really have many alternatives.
This Block's announcement makes me a little suspicious about their FFL. My understanding is that they do things 2 years ahead. Origins was only last year, which kinda suggests the two-year frame is pretty exaggerated.
We're all human; there's a tendency to shelf things until the last minute. Definitely not 2 years ahead for me. Much lesser. Which means alot of copy + paste, linear/"templative"/formulaic design. It's not a surprise if everything is haphazard and lagging in terms of future thinking/planning. This is probably why we get so many Block Returns (insert old block rehash). The lack of a -1/-1 counters theme, the lack of highly demanded stuff like Modern staples, disconnect between Pros and gaming/prize/reward structure, Mtgo issues, etc.
If anything, and this announcement is indicative of, they're working at most 1 year ahead.

Thanks, although that doesn't totally dispel the suspicions I've about them. The question posed to him felt guided, like it was supposed to assure us but not pointed out prior to the announcement (whether through articles in the past, etc).
I don't like it either.

Just Maro killing off another part of the game that makes magic unique. Nothing to see here
Using Æ makes the game unique? That is just a ridiculous argument.

I personally don't lament the loss of the ligature.

Don't hold your breath, bb, this is the same group that snap the retcon stick and made Gideon "Officially mediterranean" after all.
