Maybe we can get a green/white antagonist?
Might fit, some crazed exo-terrorist that opposes artifice and wants all of Kaladesh to become natural again and thinks it'll be for the good of the people. Could work, especially if he/she finds out that Arther isn't good for the plane .

I´m I the only one concerned that Thopters will be all over the place just like Eldrazies took up way too much space in the BFZ block?
It will probably be constructs IMHO.
Same question
The only reason the eldrazi taking up so much space in BFZ block was a bad thing was because of peoples expectations. A lot of people wanted to go back to Adventure World (i.e. Zendikar) but they got Eldrazi World instead. We didn't get enough allies and adventure-flavored stuff like quests and level up. On top of that one of the beloved mechanics that returned (landfall) was too weak to really be played competitively, even with fetches. There weren't too many eldrazi for the block to work well, there were just so many that they subverted the adventure themes people remembered and loved in original Zendikar.
That issue simply can't happen with Kaladesh because we don't have any preconceived notions as to what Kaladesh is. Because of Origins we expect thopters (at least in token form) and a mixture of indian and steampunk flavor, and probably some more artifacts than the average set. There's no real way for there to be too many thopters/constructs to subvert those themes

Well, we are almost certainly getting a heavy Chandra focus in this set, and she's arguably the second most divisive character after Jace. Some people like her and would be disappointed if her card turned out weak (or weaker than Chandra, Flamecaller at least), and others don't like her for various reasons.

But if you look at Origins you will see a lot of Thopters which is why i´m a bit concerned that it´s going to be a Thopter heavy plane.
The thopters in Origins were designed to work with the Eldrazi. Origins and Kaladesh won't be in Standard together, so the themes don't have to line up perfectly. Obviously it'll still be an artifact theme because of Kaladesh's creative, but they can do a lot of different things with artifacts.
Kaladesh antagonists probably will be WU, because, you know, order, unity, etc, and aether revolters can be RG. Not sure about the black part of the block.

Just gonna say it, but the setup I've always seen that "fire magic is strictly banned and punishable by death" always felt uncomfortably forced for Chandra's backstory. Like it was unilaterally a decision to give Chandra backstory, rather than proper world building.
Kaladesh looks like a Protoss world lol, with carriers and motherships and stuff.
Baseless Spec: The Protoss(kaladeshi) will have internal wars about either, politics and petth stuff. But chandra enters the plane zeratul style warning them of an alien(zerg) (eldrazi) invasion.

MtG is where you can hate white players or black players, and still not be racist.

This set feels like a good place to reprint Electrolyze.
They've kind of hardcore nerfed Red's burn power in Standard. You have to get to higher CMC spells or jump through hoops to get any semblance of efficiency out of them anymore.
Atarka's Command was printed only a year ago. That one was pretty efficient.
That's just because all we really know about it is that artifacts will play a heavy role (traditionally blue and red own most of the artifact interaction in the color pie). All of our knowledge about this plane comes from Origins and Chandra's backstory. In Origins Kaladesh got the RU artifacts theme, and Chandra is a red planeswalker, so of course it is synonymous with UR right now.
Obviously the other colors will carve out their own space in the block. Green (possibly green/black) will fight against the artifacts, UW is assumed to be the antagonists as well. I wouldn't be too worried about any colors taking up too much space because even in past artifact blocks, Wizards hasn't allowed that.

Actually, ALL magic is banned on Kaladesh by the consuls. I put together a Primer if anyone is interested. Magic is rare there, and it's outlawed. The antagonist of Fire Logic just hates Pyromancy in particular - he goes a bit rogue chasing down Chandra. The consuls want to just let the Nalaars go once they escape Ghirapur, but Baral ignores orders.

Artifacts on Kaladesh are in tune with nature, so while we'll probably see some green artifact hate, I'd wager we'd see it also interact with artifacts like Clues do in SOI.
With artifacts being a thing, does anyone think Metalcraft might make a return?
Doubt it. I think things like Ghirapur Æther Grid, Whirler Rogue and Clock of Omens. Along with whatever the unused mechanic from Mirrodin was (what do they call it? Mechanic E, I think).
Also, I think we'll see something like Gild return. Possible to just produce colorless mana ala Aether?
Honestly, based on what we've seen, I'm thinking it'll differentiate itself by going with an "artifact tokens as resources" theme. We saw a little of that in both Magic Origins and Mirrodin, but no plane has really focused on it. With BFZ's Eldrazi Scions (although not artifacts, they fit a similar role) and SOI's Clues, I think it's a strong possibility.
Ugh....
Being Abzan aligned I'm not looking forward to this block. I love enchantments and nature but artifacts leave me feeling cold. Even if all the colour get to interact with filigree, Not a fan. Oh well, hope others enjoy it.
I hope there are artifact-less jungles, woods, plains and swamps in Kaladesh!

So will the story be about Chandra revisiting Karladesh worried that Emmrakul payed a visit to her homeworld?
For Chandra it'll be a fake excuse. Remember her part of the gatewatch oath was for giving those without freedom of choice a chance to enact that freedom. Shes more than likely headed back home to topple the consul and let those who have natural magical abilities be able to practice them without being repressed by a government or hunted down by hateful bigots. I.e-Chandra going to be the Katniss Everdeen of MtG.

It was not just themes of Zendikar block that players missed, it was also the fact that Zendi was about fast, aggressive, draft archetypes where blocking did not happen much and the best drafter normally won, there would be one or two great decks per draft. BFZ felt more like Rise in terms of tempo, it was slow as hell, and it was far more about playskill in the game and less on how well you drafted, everyone got good decks unless you were in those archetypes that hinged on uncommons like GB.
I agree about preconceived idea not really having any justification for these two sets. Playing a set is a reason to expect something, but a set name and couple of Orgins cards should not do too much.

You are not wrong. The theme and gameplay both mimi ROE better than ZEN/WWK - an admitted mistake by the designers. I personally think BFZ/OGW is not that bad if you do not factor in the expectations to be more like the first half of the original "divided block".
