This set literally has at least 1 card for every single one of my decks. Manaless Dredge gets Prized Amalgam to test out. Werewolves gets a couple of solid additions, one being a sorely needed effect and the other main addition being a second good 1-drop to go with Reckless Waif. Lazav and Saffi both get some new toys to play with. I am very very satisfied with this return to my favorite block of all time.
So... Merrow, Rite and Laboratory Maniac? seems like one of the silliest casual decks ever.
The whole combo costs 3GU(W/U)(W/U) in three cards and it's not crazy to imagine it going off on turn three, so... I think it's pretty kitchen table viable.
This set makes me wish we were still getting 3 Immistrad sets instead of two. Or wait, is it the same amount of cards total?
Also, I'm a bit concerned with the odd layout of their tribal. I feel like Vampires and Werewolves got a ton of playable cards, while Spirits and Zombies got only a few pushed cards. I was hoping each would be a little more fleshed out, but maybe they're going to push those more In the next set.
This set looks really fun though and I'm excited to play it!
Looooooove Innistrad. If the next block were Innistrad Continued I think I'd be ok with it.
Greatest flavour lolz for me: Dual Shot - "Have you ever fired two [crossbows] at once while diving through the air?"
And who ya gonna call? Geistblasters!

Actually...
T1: Land, Merrow
T2: Land, Rite, grind until Maniac is on top
T3: Draw the Maniac, play him (don't even need the third land drop since you can tap the Merrow for mana)
T4: Grind your deck out during your upkeep if all the pieces are still in play

Yeah I agree, every tribe but Zombies got a one drop creature. That alone might keep the deck from seeing play.

...Seems pretty reliable, honestly.
That's it, I'm building this. Although Puresight Merrow comes down turn 2; ideally you'd drop mana dorks on both turn 1 and 2 so the Rite and the Maniac could both hit on turn 3.
I find it funny how people keep talking about Cryptolith Rite in EDH as though Earthcraft doesn't exist.
That's a 20 or 30-dollar card that's only been printed once and is, in fact, on the Reserved List. One can imagine that a cheaper version of that frees up a lot of space in one's EDH budget.
I'm hyped on Insolent Neonate - I might be overvaluing a bit, but it seems great if we get more madness cards next set.
It's far from the second coming of Faithless Looting, but the Neonate is definitely madness.dek's ideal one-drop, more so even than Falkenrath Gorger.
Has possibilities with dredgevine, being a 1 drop with the opportunity to pitching Dredge card or Vengevine then dredging and/or drawing into another 1 drop to go off. It being a common, I have to agree it being the poster boy for madness decks in limited. It's a pretty sweet little 1 drop.

I didn't even think of getting re-Venge off a Neonate sac followed by a Memnite drop or something turn 1 in Modern. It's certainly an involved, half-jank combo, but it's still nutty.
Geistblast seems good. Even if it's not good, I think it's a creative design and I like it.
Cryptolith Rite seems completely bonkers.
Funny how just yesterday, I was thinking that if WotC was going to keep just cribbing stuff from old horror tropes, I wanted some pure schlock garbage, and boom, today we get Moldgraf Scavenger, which is a nod to Day of the Triffids. TERRIBLE movie, but the card actually seems strong. Now lets get a Troll 2 nod, hah!
I still want WotC to throw us a curveball and have Oona be the one corrupting Innistrad.

Oh I don't don't intend for this interaction to be a turn 1 play. The deck runs red for Faithless Looting, Lightning Axe, and the sort for ways to filter through and pitch certain cards to the yard. I'm mainly pointing out this dude counts towards 1 of the creature count for Vengevine on top of pitching those cards while either dredging or searching for more dudes.

Beautiful set. The art, the flavor. They worked hard on this one.
There's Kolaghan Skirmisher, which is oddly like a mirror of Ghoulcaller's Accomplice, but yeah, almost unprecedented indeed. Again, one more card contributing to a spectacular Limited.

Get your red and black dual lands now folks
It got so many more good cards from the final spoiler. Pretty much builds itself
That makes me sad, they might've been offed out-of-card then...
