The zombie producer is just...fantastic. The life gain really sells it for me. Madness casting it for x=4 or more is going to be beautiful.
The Hydra is interesting. Reach instead of the usual trample. And a mini once only Primeval Titan impression? I feel like this is good. At least it isn't a +1/+1 counter hydra for a change.
From Under the Floorboards makes Empty the Pits look even worse than it truly is; man that is a big payoff for madness and the initial effect is quite reasonable for five mana as well. Super solid, super flexible finisher for U/Bx control lists.
Ulvenwald Hydra appears unexciting, but then again so did Prime Time at first glance compared to his brothers (at least to me; I foolishly ranked it as the 4th best titan, beating only Frost, when initially spoiled), and Primey was a fixture of standard, was occasionally played in Modern, and got banned in Commander. This is infinitely more fair but don't discount the power of dropping any land you want onto the battlefield when its stapled onto a growing 7/7 Reach. Once again, its the strength of the lands in the meta and Ulvenwald Hydra has some powerful Eldrazi-centric lands to pull up thanks to BfZ block.

There is no discount associated with the madness cost. To get the same effect with the madness as just casting it still costs 5 mana. The madness does nothing other than offer flexibility.
I thought there were no hydras on Innistrad. That's more of a mythical creature rather than a horror trope.
Indeed, the idea of multihead worm hydra is good, but need something more, maybe hydra horror type and a flavor text where we can see something like "this strange energy is changing not only the minds, but the bodies of all creatures in Innistrad. blablabla serpent/worm blablabla monstruos hungry hydra"

Impossible Creature Type Game and The Bestiary are my home.
Was pretty hyped to play U/W Control this format, but pretty sure From Under the Floorboards pushes me violently towards U/B instead. That's a solid card.

I know. I'm saying that casting it for its madness cost is discounted by 1 from Sphinx's Revelation (2 colored and X, rather than 3 colored and X), not the card itself...
Creeping Dread is interesting with artifact creatures and enchantment creatures *g
and its nice to get the opponents to 0 Hand cards for my other black Effects

green got 2 mythics, actually, this and Seasons Past
From Under the Floorboards is pretty neat at least.
Good catch, didn't see that it was any land. Might make it a bit more playable.
I'm really excited to test the zombie revelation
Standard - Some kind of control
Modern - UB Mill (casual)
EDH - Meren's Grave Shenanigans

I know but Season Past was spoiled hours ago, this hydra was the last mythic in this block.
Also, duplicate threads have been merged.

The new zombie apocalypse looks much better. I have no clue how the lifegain makes any sense but it isn't unwelcomed in a control shell.

I agree, what does zombies coming out of the floorboards have to do with gaining life, did they find a medic pack under there or something?
Let me stop before I get infracted.
Feel free to tell me yours!
When you see it in an old story, it's a mythical creature. When you meet it at night, it's a horror trope.

It's a boring and not even that impressive. Just because it's one of the archetypal creature types doesn't mean it needs to be mythic.
Kalonian Twingrove Dungrove Elder Dauntless Dourbark all are rares and pretty much better then this one in all cases
