This is insane in grindy matches. Maybe it's sideboard material or just a one-of in Midrange/Ramp decks, but it's quite playable in Standard. Easily gets you 2~3 cards, often 4~5. It simply steals matches.
This card is amazing in any kind of green control shell. Basically refills your hand from your graveyard, and lets you keep the card in your library. Even lets you get a land (CMC = 0)
This long to reveal a green mythic, and we get a commander card, that's disappointing.

Definitely liking this. Be nice to refuel Saffi when I can't use her for everything.
Sure i will, they just ruined one of the most awesome sets of all time with a bunch of crap cads, but hey, at the end of the day, i wont be wasting money lol, so i'm fine
Killer kitchen table card. I suspect it's probably going to wind up a $1 mythic in the same way The Great Aurora did, but it's still damned good. All sorts of applications in EDH and Multiplayer. Could probably even sneak into my cube (assuming it's better than See the Unwritten there).
What a fun edh card! It's a little disappointing though that green seems ro receive the lion's share of edh inspired mythics. There's just so many good options at the top of green's curve! Just about any 6+ costed green mythic could justifiably be stuffed into any deck containing green

Innistrad is my favorite block of all time, and this is shaping up to be a very worthwhile return. Sure, stuff like bad rare mana rocks and a handful of other subpar cards aren't fun to see, but there have been plenty of fantastic cards spoiled that are playable in a variety of formats. From limited to...Standard to EDH and Legacy even. This is looking to be my favorite set since Innistrad and Dark Ascension. I've got stuff for Lazav and Saffi in EDH, stuff for my Modern Werewolves deck, and even something to test in Manaless Dredge.

You'll be singing a different tune once you'll be netdecking decks that run this.
Back to dealing with real Magic:
Hard to evaluate this card right now. If there is a control deck that runs Green then this is going to be an all-star. Paying 6 mana and a card to get 3-4 cards back is absurd as long as you control the board; the question is "how aggressive is Standard going to be with WotC pushing it?".
As mentioned, this fits rather well into green/X control shell. The question becomes though what other color(s) is the control? I could see Black/Green control/ramp being a thing again you have gitrog and the returning land for him, you have world breaker, ulamog, and so forth. Though the question on that is if you can swing a 3rd color in there with fetches going away, and if so do you go for red, or white. Red for the mana 'ramp' enchantment & chandra, white for the wrath effects and good finishers/sorin.
Love this! Appropriately mythic, and a unique take on the regrowth ability.
Big useless effects are worthy of mythic rarity and powerhouse zombies aren't? Is that what you're saying?
Yes, and he is right
So, big useless effects are worthy of mythic rarity? That is, perhaps, the silliest thing I've ever heard. Do you know the difference between the words subjective and objective?
That's a pretty cool card. Two more mana gets you Praetor's Counsel though.
Yeah, but the difference between 6 and 8 is about 5. At least outside of EDH land.
I know, but I'm an EDH player first and foremost, so I always judge big splashy cards like this by their EDH value first. It's lower mana cost makes me wonder if it might see play in a Standard deck some day. It seems like a nice 1-of that could be a complete blowout.
This long to reveal a green mythic, and we get a commander card, that's disappointing.
This costs 6, so it's definitely playable in standard.
a 6-mana do-nothing sorcery is playable in standard? where ramp is neutered?
How is it a do-nothing card? You're probably going to be bringing back at least two cards. Den Protector was played in standard, this is just one mana more. And there is in fact ramp in standard, have you not seen the RG eldrazi deck?
It's a little dangerous to compare this to Den Protector for 3 reasons.
1) Den Protector didn't require all the mana up front. You could pay 3, and then pass turn and wait for your opponent to do something before deciding to flip or play something else on their turn.
2) Den Protector was still a 3 or 2 power creature on the board.
3) Den Protector also had a mini combo with Deathmist Raptor.
Now, I could see RG Eldrazi run this tho. They can gunk up the board quite nicely once they get going.
I actually like this more than Praetor's Counsel for a lot of EDH decks. The difference between 6 and 8 mana is pretty huge in EDH--just because 8 mana is reachable, doesn't mean the 6 mana effect isn't still worth taking over it. Whenever you're casting Praetor's Counsel, how often do you really need *every* card in your graveyard? Usually, 3-4 would have sufficed for taking over a game. Praetor's Counsel didn't really have much competition in the 'mass regrowth' style of card, with the exception of the narrower Creeping Renaissance, but this seems like a worthy challenger. In most midrange and control decks, this will likely do Praetor's Counsel's job better. However, decks that care about getting back a lot of lands specifically will want Praetor's Counsel more.
This now leads us to the next question: how are cards split between rare and mythic rare? Or more to the point, what kind of cards are going to become mythic rares? We want the flavor of mythic rare to be something that feels very special and unique. Generally speaking we expect that to mean cards like planeswalkers, most legends, and epic-feeling creatures and spells. They will not just be a list of each set's most powerful tournament-level cards.
We've also decided that there are certain things we specifically do not want to be mythic rares. The largest category is utility cards, what I'll define as cards that fill a universal function. Some examples of this category would be cycles of dual lands and cards like Mutavault or Char. That also addresses a long-standing issue that some players have had with certain rares like dual lands. Because we're making fewer cards per set, in the new world individual rares will be easier to acquire because each rare in a large set now appears 25% more often.
Is Seasons Past a powerful tournament-level card? No.
Is it a utility card? Definitely not.
Does it feel epic? I think a lot of EDH players in here would argue that it does.
In that regards, it fits mythic rarity.
I rather haveVerdant confluence than this in my edh decks. Sorry but it is a crappy Praetors counsel. Most of the stuff I want to return are permanents anyways. Also you got the other modes.

I like that this can return a land as well. If one managed to Opportunity with this, it's already paying dividends.
