Why tapped. That's a steep cost for it and your only gonna revive this maybe once or twice in a game. It's stats don't warrant it being dangerous even with flying and 3 power.
Hey, but it is a Zombie so there's that. Limited definitely.

Probably they don't want it messing with combat math from the graveyard. So "enters tapped" or "when you could play a Sorcery" are the two obvious options, and "enters tapped" is a more zombie-like thing.

Why would you want to block with a 3/1 Flier in Limited anyways? These wings are made for attackin'.
As for the card, it's Limited fodder mostly, but it's pretty alright. I love it how the second cost is much cheaper than the base one, so "cheating" it into play somehow with a Turn 1 discard nets you a 3/1 Flier on Turn 2. So, say, Lightning Axe T1 to face, T2 this just straight-up wins games.

It's not a bad synergy, but just remember you can't Lightning Axe anyone's face. Unless that "anyone" is a creature.

You can't Lightning Axe players. Probably cause that would be insane for Red.

Oh d'oh. My bad, yeah. It would have to require a target to work then, that makes it much less desireable. So far no other ways to drop him fast on the Grave T2 tho. Shame. :/

I wonder if there's a common to complete the vertical cycle.
What's the rare?
No rare, just this and the mythic (so far). Usually rare and mythic rare are interchangeable in vertical cycles, I think. I can't think of any examples that span all four rarities.
It was a good decision to build that Sidisi EDH dredge deck. It is nice to see how SOI fills the deck almost on its own. And that Nils Ham artwork is awesome as always.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Love the name of the geist, and this is a good Spirit. Becomes a 3/3 unblockable when it is transformed. Great in limited, Might not make the u/w spirit deck in standard though being it does not initially have flying but we will see.
But so far U/W spirits is the deck I want to build

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
The Geist is the front runner for best card name in the set. I kind of like these very simple DFC designs, too, they're very charming. I'm glad the number of DFCs was increased compared to Innistrad, having room for more things like this is quite nice.
Wish you wouldn't, almost missed that one because I'd already read the thread before the change and had no reason to come back. I got lucky to notice the additional card.
Concerning Uninvited guest, it kinda bugs me designwise. It feels like instead of a flip card it should have renown and as long as this creature is renowned it is unblockable instead. It also doesn't help I suppose that I hate the existence of the skulk keyword due to skulking being the unofficial shorthand term for the sacrifice this if it becomes targeted (based on Skulking Ghost, Skulking Fugitive and Skulking Knight).

I for one am happy to try this with dredge and Faithless Looting in Modern. Now, just need that Bridge from Below enabler...

Oh, who am I kidding. It's Wizards, of course it was intentional.
Shame Uninvited Geist couldn't be a Vampire as well... now that would be a flavor homerun!
