Orzhov Control in SOI standard loves this.
Just out of what rotates and whats spoiled, they have Duress, Dead Weight, and Searing Light (on draw) as T1 Enablers.
That is in addition to quite a few decent T1 creature drops that have a decent chance at dying before T3. Which you dont need the card in GY till your T3.
Plus as some people have said, this card isnt all about dropping 4cc on T3. It could very easily do 2 card play on T3. Which Orzhov has great cards for a kill something, and hold a kill spell for their T3/T4 creature. Then it takes you right into a T4 wipe, or another 2 card play if needed. Finally its giving you the MUCH needed ramp Orzhov needs. Sorin definitely seemed later game with 6 mana, and I've seen plenty of 25 mana decks get screwed and stuck on 5 mana for a while. This fixes that.
I'd look to see any number of these plays post rotation, especially in magic xmas land FNMs.
T1 Duress/1drop
T2 Tombstone
T3 Languish
T4 Draw + hold 2 mana
T5 Sorin
T1 tapland
T2 Tombstone
T3 Kill spell + hold 2 mana open
T4 Planar Wipe
T5 Sorin
T1 creature (dies against an aggro blocker OR...)
T2 Tombstone (t1 creature swings and gets blocked)
T3 Languish / 2 card
T4 Wipe / 2 card
T5 2 card / Sorin / 3 card
This card really isnt that bad, and its not hard to turn on at all. The biggest thing against it I have is that you can only run 4 making some games likely you wont see it until T5 or later, and thats every card. I see this allowing Control decks to stay around post rotation.
ps works decent with midrange too due to the creature deaths, or corpse churn
You consider it a cost, I consider it a benefit. There are a lot of really good spells that cost colorless mana and being able to cast Thought-Knot Seer on 3 is something people have been saying is too strong for modern.
why i find this Tombstone interesting:
because i already have many ideas how to get FOUR different colors on T3:
one with using ShockLands and Safewright Quest (nice on T1)
another idea is possible with MonoGreen Landbase and Manamorphose (can be cast on T3)
i think the second one is even more funky because you can cast the Tombstone while you have no cards in your graveyard, and the enemy does need to think what card of yours he does destroy because you will get more mana from it.

It wouldn't be a cost if there weren't much, much better options for getting colorless mana in Standard, let alone Modern. Or in BFZ block. Or in OGW. Or in SOI. Hell, I'd even be willing to say that Wastes in deck weren't always bad if there was a single piece of playable nonbasic hate floating around.
