The first 2cmc mana rock we've had for a while, if I recall correctly. It doesn't seem that good though, considering you need at least one card in your greaveyard for it to generate any mana.
In most decks with fetchlands this taps for at least colorless turn three, but then again fetchlands are leaving Standard with SOI and in Modern you rather play Mind Stone.
You guys are making a false assumption. Colorless isn't a color. ONLY colored cards in the bin will generate mana from this.
Quote from Comprehensive Rules »
105.4. If a player is asked to choose a color, he or she must choose one of the five colors.
“Multicolored” is not a color. Neither is “colorless.”
106.5. If an ability would produce one or more mana of an undefined type, it produces no mana instead. Example: Meteor Crater has the ability “{T}: Choose a color of a permanent you control.
Add one mana of that color to your mana pool.” If you control no colored permanents,
activating Meteor Crater’s mana ability produces no mana.
Woah, quite strong. This makes any proactive 1 cmc spell much better. The green delirium tutor, for example, should probably be played in any green deck which wants this. You might see a split between ramp decks with this, Chandra, and Fiery Impulse vs decks with Wastes and ruin in their wake.
A U sorcery that investigates twice would be extremely good now.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
Yeah, this thing seems bad. Assuming you cast it on curve, it doesn't actually ramp you unless you were able to dump a colored spell into your graveyard on turn 1.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
This is seems worse than Mirage diamonds as you don't really want it early, unless you have some way of getting something in your graveyard on the first few turns.
It's worse than Sky Diamond and company, but those are pretty good. This could still see play. As long you're putting cards in the yard, sooner or later this will tap for any one of your colors.
Good thing it doesn't cost like cards like Darksteel Ingot..... because with this you can rush it out second turn and start using it third turn! If you build your entire deck around it, of course. Coldsteel Heart sucked but at least you didn't have to satisfy conditions in your graveyard for it to work.
Doesn't particularly stimulate me as a player or designer. Meh!
Rare seems a little high, but with the right setup it seems to be the best mana rock I have seen.
-filling your graveyard with the right color is not that hard. So you are easily on par with mirage diamonds.
-it can easily add all your colors, even more so than star compass, if you are in color death.
-I believe it is the first rock ever that can produce any color + colorless. (The way it is worded, if you choose a land, you get a colorless mana I believe, while with the classic "add one of any color" you cannot).
That last point, plus the power level in limited, are enough to make it a rare.

I feel really bad for the folks who had the "honor" of previewing this abomination of a mana rock. Oh, btw flavortext reads: everythings that isn't a creature is too strong for standard, so please jump through a hoop so your rarity-creeped uncommon does something.
Whose tombstone this is? I assume it's where wotc buried their dignity after thinking this card is an acceptable rare.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
Yeah could have easily been uncommon. Just because a card could have constructed applications like this card doesn't mean it should be rare. Weird manarock though.

That's a rather disappointing rare mana rock.
Like everything Wizards prints that isn't a creature, this seems aggressively mediocre.
