One of the silliest possible combos this Standard: Awaken the Vale, equip it with Neglected Heirloom, then transform it. Enjoy your 12/10 first strike flying lifelink indestructible haste Demon!
That is definitely a lot of mana for a 1/1, but they probably didn't want players making armies of Clerics early game then curving straight into Ormendahl. Trading Post and Myr Turbine are readily accessible sources of tokens. Shadowborn Apostle exists to be fodder.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

No, it does not.
If you target this with Reflector Mage the card will return to its howner hand as a land, then he (the land/creature howner) may cast the land as it have a different name, sure is that he has to sacrifice other five creatures but then any Boomerang would do the job as fine as a Reflector Mage.
I am tempted to make tribal goblins with this for one reason
"Furt enjoyed his new life as a cultist, no dragons trying to eat him, no bugs setting him on fire, no Varv trying to kill him or other goblins trying to throw him at big creatures, The head cleric keeps telling him that he will be the Sac-Ri-Fice to summon the great demon, he didn't know what Sac-Ri-Fice meant..but it has to be important.
Is this the largest body ever printed with Lifelink?
I'm not certain, but I'm inclined to believe it is.
An 18 point life swing is certainly no joke.
The largest power for a creature with lifelink is 7. The largest toughness is also 7. One card has the former, three the latter.
The one with 7 power is Hook Griselbeef. The two others with 7 toughness are an oversized chicken and Mama Droma.
Comments here are pretty funny, do people not realize that Nephalia Drownyard and Moorland Haunt were constructed playable? even with the color requirements, the activation requirements (on moorland haunt) and being much slower at ending the game (nephalia drownyard), just because they are lands that double as win conditions? I honestly don't get why people are excited about thing in the Ice, Hyping it to undeserved heights and you see comments about this like... "this should make all 5 3 tokens or cost 1 mana, or it's unplayable", really guys? Yes colorles lands need to pass a high bar before they become playable, but this land being a win condition on it's own without the transform stuff would make it at least close to playable, you do know that you don't have to sac the tokens, you can just keep making them even after you have 5 right? You should only transform this when you are certain that you are getting at least one hit in and have a way to protect it, or you are ending the game.
Playability aside, I don't really get the flavor, a building becomes a demon? I mean sure it's cool that you actually have a demon card, but it would probably be more flavorful if you sacrificed the creatures to search for the demon or put a demon token, the card obviously becomes worse, but I just don't get the flavor of a building becoming a demon, are you animating the building by sacrificing people? I just don't get it.
Yes, yes it does. Reflector Mage puts on a bib, sits down at the kitchen table, pours himself a glass of orange juice, and eats this guy for breakfast.
Why even bother arguing Tim1137's point when you know he meant "Reflector Mage's bounce ability" when he said "Reflector Mage". I'm pretty sure he knew the "can't play that card" clause didn't apply. He could have said any other bounce effect but chose Reflector Mage.
Mazirek EDH enjoys this, nothing like my whole team getting 5 counters, Ormendahl being a 14/12 off the bat.
This card is quite good, wouldn't doubt this being in control decks in Standard. When your land is your win condition it definitely leaves space for other removal, although getting those 5 creatures will be a little tough to achieve.
He wouldn't be a 14/12 off the bat though. Unless you have a lot more things to sac when he actually is a creature.
When you activate the ability to transform the land it will go on the stack and then mazireks ability will go on top of that. So the +1 counters won't be distributed while the land is actually transformed to a creature and so won't get any counters.
But you control all of the things going on the stack so don't you just let the transform go off first? Then the counters get placed on everything. No different than saccing something with persist where you let it come back before you add counters.
The difference is that when you sac something with persist you get two triggers happening when the creature dies. Mazirek and the persist. When yo activate an ability you first of all put that ability on the stack, then pay costs for it and then it is considered cast. In the mazirek case as soon as the ability is cast during SBA the triggers for the 5 dudes that died during the activation is put onto the stack.
So the activation will always be on the bottom of the stack.

WB token decks are obviously where this belongs. I can also see a blue deck making interesting use of cards like Rise from the Tides and Master of Waves.

I said what I said not only for Tim1137 but also for everyone who could have trouble with the ruling if something like this appens during a Standard match where Reflector Mage is played a lot. I'm not trying to argue, I'm just trying to help.
You know if there ever was a time to have a land that transforms into a creature, it's in an Innistrad block after Battle for Zendikar block! I really like that bit of interlock synergy. It feels natural, not forced at all. Really a perfect situation for this card to exist regardless of its power level.

They didn't care that he was the savior of Fort Keff, the great hunter of Ondu, the champion of Kabira. To them, he was just another piece of flesh, a thing with life to be drained away.
I really don't see the Reflector Mage worry as that will be only cast on the next turn. An 18 point life swing is easily worth a few measly token creatures
Am I the only one annoyed by this land giving colorless mana? Would much rather have it give black or generic mana.
Nothing taps for (or produces in any way) generic mana anymore. You can't even add generic mana to your mana pool. Mana is either colored or colorless only; costs use the word generic to mean either colored or colorless mana can be used to pay them.
In regards to land, the people complaining that this thing should be "better" by making completely ridiculous are probably the saying there is nothing wrong with modern we have 5 different *cough* eldrazi *cough* decks top-8ing whats the matter...
I for one think the first ability is good. The flip ability is a steep cost in a format that is currently rampant with reflector mage.

Might be mistaken but isn't sacing the 5 creatures here part of the cost? So Mazirek would trigger before this thing transforms into a creature (thus it wouldn't get the counters)?
You're correct. Better use a card with Awaken on the land first!
