Odric as a Commander isn't nearly as busted as he may originally appear. If he's on a board alone, he does actual nothing and being in mono white certainly does very little to accelerate him and keep his gas going. If not preapred for, an Odric 2.0 deck will get stalled out and lose momentum super easily.

Odric is totally not implying Skulk as going evergreen later on in the next block. Nooope, totally not. It's not like they needed a UB keyword and Skulk is generic and flavorful enough to fit the bill. Noooope.
To the Slaughter is fantastic. And stop complaining guys, y'all already know Planeswalker removal is rare.
Probably because: 1) Prowess stacks, and would cause major headache on how the hell it works for new players, and 2) It would be too powerful, as Soulblade Djinn went out to be pretty good in Limited.
Odric, Lunarch Marshal makes any deck act like a Sliver deck (the M14 Sliver style anyway). It encourages a certain type of deck, but lets you take it many different directions.
In CMDR, he seems more versatile as part of the 99 than as the leader.
Odric is cool. I guess what makes the To the Slaughter rare is the mentioning of planeswalker, cause otherwise this plays like an uncommon or common card.
awwwww, odric master swagtician will be sad that they didn't get to spoil this on Tumblr. That would have been the bees knees lol
Anyway, hope I open a couple of that black kill spell in draft. Very nice art, very creepy

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
The removal spell is great. Flavor text and art are on point. Forcing delirium on that is absolutely key and I can imagine control decks using this in place of all those Ruinous Path cards lying in their boxes collecting dust.
I don't know, the more I think about it, the more I think cards that rely on Delirium to be worthwhile are not going to be worthwhile. The easiest types to get in the graveyard are Sorcery and Instant. After that, you're looking at cards that normally don't get there unless something else puts them there. Fetches are rotating out, but we still have cards like Warped Landscape and Evolving Wilds. That's 3 types. What is the next easiest to get in the graveyard? From here on, I think you're looking at warping the build of your deck to enable Delirium. Is it worth it? I'm not sure, and I have my doubts. You don't want to play cards that aren't good unless your opponent takes a specific action (i.e. destroying your creature, artifact, enchantment, or planeswalker).
That sac spell is just dumb though.
It'll be okay with Delirium, but without, it is *massively* overcosted.
And of course, it has no business at Rare.
You forgot WOTC's age old adage
"Does it mention Planeswalkers? RARE!"
And you're right, without delirium it's dry Foul-Tongue Invocation or Tribute to Hunger without the lifegain. But hey this is what we pay for sac effects these days.

I'm at least liking how they lowered his colored mana requirement so that he fits into a multi-colored deck with a lot of key worded creatures that much better.

For control decks, they can afford to play the long game and they are pretty much guaranteed to get a sorcery, instant, and land into the graveyard (assuming a crackable land of some sort ala Evolving Wilds, Warped Landscape, etc) We need a good expendable creature(Jace, Vryn's Prodigy and Hangarback Walker are the best creature Delirium enablers in standard by far and both are extremely playable in standard) I expect sorcery, instant, artifact and creature (from hangarback) to be the most common delirium pile.
Odric is bad. Very hard to make him work, maybe if you have a Boros deck with some hasty, flying creature you can top with him to get the surprise "everyone has fly and haste" attack. But I think that is too cute and probably not going to work. A shame, another bad White legend, monowhite EDH sits on the bench one more time.
To the slaugther is not gamebreaking, but it is interesting. If the opponent doesnt play walkers it will just be a bad SAC effect, but the potential to 2-for-1 probably means it will be a sideboard Card against midrange decks, maybe mainboard a couple of them.

You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

The Soldier, I guess he's fine with his buddies, but a vanilla 3/3 alone. This one's probably better than Odric, Master Tactician.

Too bad all that text didnt allow him at least a line of flavor text.

Would run Odric in my casual Humans/Soldiers deck (has a bit of both tribal benefits) in a heartbeat. Fun card.
And what can I say about To the Slaughter but YAY! Another interesting way to deal w/ planeswalkers.

It's so great to get another in the tradition of Escaped Shapeshifter, Cairn Wanderer, and Soulflayer.

To the Slaughter is probably a 1x-2x in modern decks. Delirium should be easy enough to trigger since its basically tarmogoyf the keyword.

Read my other stories as well (some ongoing):
Reaper King (a horror story), Kaalia of the Vast (an origin story), Sequels for Innistrad (Alternative sequels for Inn), Grey Areas (Odric's fanfic), Royal Succession (goblins),The Tracker's Message (eldrazi on Innistrad) and Ugin and his Eye (the end of OGW).
Giving them a choice for three mana is craptastic.
I'm pretty sure this card has the biggest gap in power level between Delirium and non-Delirium versions
of all the Delirium cards previewed so far.
