It's fun, it's splashy, it's an enabler, that's a mythic. You can't demand that Mythics not be pushed constructed powerhouses AND complain about this not being super pushed at the same time.
How is this being mythic "a slap in the face?" What is insulting about a mythic that you simply don't want to play? Not every mythic is built to please every player.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Wizards is REEEEEALLY trying to push Big Red, aren't they?
Stormbreath Dragon yes.
Everything else has been close but has fallen short. I once had high hopes for Soul of Shandalar and it won me a few games at FNM with the flashback burn but it never really took off.
To be fair, Tyrant and Hellion are okay. There are cards that are trash (like the blue and white intro pack rares for SOI oh boy...) and then there is stuff like this that is just okay. I think the tiers go something like this
Staples>Playable>Semi-Playable>Fringe>Unplayable>Trash(these are cards that are actively and offensively bad)>Wood Elemental
Dragonlord Atarka this is not.
Heck, I would be disappointed with this thing 4 years ago when I thought that a 2/4 for 4 was a playable card
It just doesn't DO anything...
Well, it doesn't do much of anything on the turn it comes in to play, certainly--at that point it is just a decent blocker on the ground. On your next turn, though, you attack with Wolf of Devil's Breach, pay R1, discard Incorrigible Youths to deal 5 damage to a creature or planeswalker, then cast it for R2 to get the 4/3 haste creature into play. Presumably you dealt the 5 damage to a potential blocker to clear the way for the attacking wolf before the declare blockers step. If you target Reality Smasher in this manner you won't even have to discard anything because it isn't a spell.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Oh please. They've been doing that since Mythics first began. Why stop now?
Other than that, it's fine. Just kinda plain and meh.
.
Many thanks to DNC at Heroes of the Plane Studios
Seriously, this is NOT mythic and its an insult ...

Except if it doesn't go in any decks it doesn't make decks any more or less expensive.
