Michael Komarck's Elspeth Tirel and two versionsof Sorin* are some of my favourite pieces of Planeswalker art from any source, so I don't think the card art versions are always worse. But hey - opinons of art have always been subjective. That's what's so enjoyable about them.

Also, I wouldn't give to much about a darker color scheme of art including Jace in a generally pretty dark setting like Innistrad...
