When I saw Thing in the Ice I was sure it was that Lage!
Awesome cards overall. I love the Alucard vampire!! Werewolf isn't super exciting, though it has fairly decent stats and I love the art. I'm loving this set so far.
Only thing that bothers me is that apparently Fallen Angel and Unsummon are now considered OP while Wizards thinks cards like that mythic Zombie are fine.
One of the popular theories is an Emrakul flesh lattice formation. Whether that means Emrakul is actually on Innistrad or is only tangentially involved is up for debate.
It could also just be some magic corruption from normal Innistrad things. Maybe from the delver researchers.
And what does the artifact reveal on that woman skin? Ermakul stuff? What about that land that shows Nahiri is creating those stones used by cultist and is summoning some kind of ... eldrazi?

Usually I would nod to wizards thinking that spells are OP, but you got things wrong my friend.
That angel is a white uncommon and fallen angel is a black rare. Even though they are similar, they are also completely different, and the effect is balanced and decent for an uncommon. In regards to unsummon, do you know what happens if you discard unsummon? It goes to the yard. That madness card you can play it. That is the difference, so it really doesn't make sense to compare the cards.

Thing In The Ice has already been sold out twice at Star City Games. The first batch was $.99, the second $1.99. I can only imagine they're going to raise it, so I'd recommend preordering yours while they're relatively cheap.
For real.
I just tried to buy some for $2.50 and 40 sold out in the less than a minute it took me to checkout :'(
Thankfully I got some for $3, but the card is still selling like heroin-laced hotcakes.
I honestly don't think it's *that* great- all formats have heavily played answers to the front side,
but I certainly think it's worth at least $3.
SCG can actually give really good deals on preorders if you pounce on things.
Yeah, all formats also have heavily played answers to another card, and that's not stopping it from being ridiculously expensive.
It's the fact that you're paying 2 mana for a super efficient creature that forces you to jump through minimal hoops to get full use out of it (and some decks would be casting that many Instants and/or Sorceries anyhow).
Thing in the Ice is just overhyped. Like how Narset was at the beginning.
That said, pretty cool to run with all the indestructible/protection spells in standard. lol
Eh, maybe it is overhyped, but this card has flavor text from a cultist to a deity of sea and storm, referencing something greater than Awoken Horror coming.
Thing in the ice might be good in U/R Delver since the deck mostly runs cheap instants and sorceries. Will not work well with Young Pyromancer but could reuse Snapcaster.
I'm in the family of the optimistic guys overall, but here I see a card that apply no pressure before 2-3 turns when things go from average to wrong. It's sort of a super-pushed Ludevic's Test Subject if I had to compare with unplayable cards.
In T2 it fights with Jace, Vryn's Prodigy slots in control decks.
In modern it fights with Young Pyromancer slots in delver decks.
I don't see it make the cut in constructed. I might be wrong like when I (and many more) did not see the potential of Gurmag Angler before the card was released, who knows...
No card revealed today looks constructed playable to me (until some stuff rotates out).

So good Magic sets only come every 5 years now? Way to save up all your creativity juices WotC. Almost every single one of the cards spoiled today hits at least one mark of good design: Mechanics, Flavor, or Power-level. None of these feel forced into the set to fill a quota amount(I know some will, but when you have too many it makes the whole set feel lazy and boring). So far so good, WotC.
When I saw Thing in the Ice I was sure it was that Lage!

I know Fallen Angel was rare, but it did get downgraded to uncommon for whatever reason in it's last deck appearance. I compare them because the new angel is basically a color-shifted version of Fallen Angel, with an unnecessary ability tacked on to make it far worse. I'll probably never play this card and I never really liked Fallen Angel either so I don't really care that much. I'm simply not a fan of when Wizards takes old cards and makes a new, worse version of them because reasons. Yeah, that new bounce spell can do an Unsummon impression if you're discarding it, but otherwise it's still a 2 mana version of a card that has cost 1 mana since the dawn of Magic. It just gives me that same bad feeling that Wizards has been dishing out lately with their continued downgrading of common utility cards. See: mana dorks, counterspells, 4 mana wraths, burn spells, spot removal, etc.
So Skulk is confirmed to appear on both blue and black cards. Gee, wouldn't it make a swell evergreen keyword?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
And yes, the meta is constantly evolving. Perhaps that should be the meta-meta? OTOH, Magic is still the strongest CCG out there, and no other game has come close. (Maybe Hearthstone.) I don't mention this to imply that they can do no wrong, but it may be that the reason they change the meta-meta is because they realize that the game is not/less sustainable otherwise.
I appreciate that Thing in the Ice doesn't reset other Things you might have lurking on the field already when it flips. It's not really a creature that gets worse in multiples. It's also not the kind of card that's optimized for the decks I like to run, but I certainly wouldn't complain about pulling it.
Thing in the Ice has a ton of fun interactions. In UR with Bolt, snapcaster, git probe, and counter spells Thing seems really easy to pull off.
With a well sequenced Natural Affinity Thing becomes Upheaval of Tentacles.
Nahiri is indeed going to drop Innistrad's moon onto Innistrad.
She's channeling mana.
The cultists (that she's at least aiding) are centered in the ocean area.
The Clue has 'Their chanting rises as the tide rises.'
IIRC, tides are formed from the gravitational force between a planet and its moon. If the tide is rising... (High Tide)... then perhaps it's not because of orbits but because the moon is getting closer?
The best expansion IS called Eldritch Moon, after all. That, and full moon is frequently associated with madness.
But I don't recall Nahiri being so vengeful. When she first appeared she was tenacious but never aggressive.
What about that land that shows Nahiri is creating those stones used by cultist and is summoning some kind of ... eldrazi?
The thing on the skin was an eye growing. It's not a marker of Emrakul's brood as of now, but we've seen them flesh out the other Eldrazi broods a bit more so who knows.
As far as the land someone was theorizing she was siphoning the mana from the plane in order to attract Emrakul. Of course it could just be part of the whole moon thing.
I know Fallen Angel was rare, but it did get downgraded to uncommon for whatever reason in it's last deck appearance. I compare them because the new angel is basically a color-shifted version of Fallen Angel, with an unnecessary ability tacked on to make it far worse. Being an uncommon in a deck basically means... nothing. Rarity is distributed based on limited impact. Curiously enough, the card was created as an uncommon, but after some sets it was upgraded to a rare ever since. I don't think you understand how madness works: you take an effect that usually is negative (discard a card) and turns it into a positive. You could use it with the new vampire spoiled (just an example) to bounce the creature of an opponent and make a tempo play (in a tempo deck, maybe), or use it with jace as people said, etc.
It is not comparable (and I'm not even entering into color pie considerations, that black should have easier sacrifice than white).

Just the Wind is stronger if you can discard it.
As one ubiquitous example, looters like Jace, Vryn Prodigy turn it into straight CA.
