I'm pretty sure those are the Markov Manor vampillars in the background. So did Sorin or Nahiri find the journal and conveniently leave it there for Jace to find, or did Tamiyo leave it there?

I'm starting to wonder about Tamiyo's fate. Has she just left for someplace else? If so, why leave your journal behind as a researcher? Slight use on other cards like Pore Over the Pages (which we now see is def her journal)"was on to something" instead of "is on to something" could point to something happening to her. Just a thought.
Also if Avacyn has gone crazy, I wonder if anyone can stop her. She was created with Pre-Mending Planeswalker powers. Radiant, Archangel was created by Serra Planeswalker and was strong enough to rip Urza's eyes right out of his head. She would have killed him if she didn't try to unite the Powerstones. If Avacyn is as strong as Radiant, she has enough power to go head-to-head with a Pre-Mending Planeswalker.

I think Jace is following a Journal he found elsewhere. We've seen him pouring over it on several different cards.

Nahiri is probably not causing big A's madness. Seems like it wouldn't be that big of a mystery if it was since Nahiri is not exactly being subtle, what with the Markov manor and all.
Its also not clear how Nahiri could be responsible for causing vampires to grow tentacles and extra eyes.
Ugh... my Tamiyo loving heart.
At the back of my mind I'm thinking that MTG is witholding anything that will reveal Tamiyo's fate to gauge something...

You want something really funny ? Check the flavor text : in english, it's "entry 434", but in french, it's "entrée 712". And this is not a mistake, nearlly each translation of Tamiyo's Journal got its own number of entry (who says the same thing, about Avacyn's madness)

I never noticed but now that you mention it, one of the vampires definitely has 3 eyes. O_O But I don't see any tentacles. This is so weird, I like it.
