So flavor wise, whenever your creature goes into battle with the shard, they bleed a little...not enough to hurt them in any significant way, but enough to make you the player cringe and lose a bit of your mind?

Well, that or you have to be a little bit mad to use it in the first place.

Or desperate. As in "Zombies are running over the bastion of our faith and we gotta keep 'em out before they eat us"-desperate.
There's a little bit of madness in desperation.
I'm really curious as to what the full Stained-Glass Window looked like, though. I've yet to see any piece of church-like window art with someone looking so horrified.
My first impression was a hint at a possible Gibbering Descent reprint. They I realized Hellbent would be too much.
Maybe it's from a panel with a little girl shepherding her sheeps seeing zombies, before an Angel swoops in and saves the day.
Could be. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to see the full version in the art book for Innistrad.
I just assumed the full pane was of an Angel singing out in praise. She's got a halo effect around her head.
Could be. Could be Sigarda, or from the Herons, with the green clothing and brown hair.
I just loved the art from Endlress Ranks of the Dead, I hope we get some more like it.
The woman's face is the woman using it to stab her attacker ffs.
It comes from the same window as Endless Ranks of the Dead and the new relentless dead. The "halo" is from the pane itself, but her face is the reflection of the user.

If it was a reflection of the user, I don't think it would be upside down. There are other broken windows in the church. The Endless Ranks window is to the right, but there is another smashed stained glass window to the left. The hair on the woman is also stylized with heavy black lines, similar to stained glass windows.
funny
Well we know that is the face of the shard of glass weilder...kinda crazy lady

The face is definitely not a reflection, is outlined in black. Unless you're saying that just the lips and eyes are being reflected.

I'm mostly a casual player, I don't build competative decks... so I don't know if that would be good or not.
