For the token i could ser Tuktuk the Explorer ( his card showing his Ressurection) Dark Depths ( Marit Lage the Big eldrish horror from ice age that made many go mad)
Based on the name, my guess is this FTV is all about stories of Magic's past, in particular the legendary creatures who drove those stories.
We clearly have Momir Vig, Simic Visionary in the announcement art. He unleashed Experiment Kraj with the intent that it would absorb all life on Ravnica, and thus was arguably one of the biggest bads of Ravnica block alongside Szadek, Lord of Secrets. Szadek is also likely to be included thanks to forcing Agrus Kos to arrest him, thereby breaking the original Guildpact.
Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius was the parun who first discovered the Implicit Maze that would create a new Guildpact and determine who would control the guilds of Ravnica.
Memnarch turned Argentum into Mirrodin by bringing creatures from across the Multiverse to Mirrodin in hopes of finding one with a spark so he could transfer the spark to himself and become a planeswalker like his master and Argentum's creator Karn. Glissa, the Traitor was once Mirrodin's hero who defeated Memnarch, but became an agent of Phyrexia thanks to the oil.
Volrath was the evincar of Rath until Crovax defeated and usurped him.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
The idea to me seems to be to give a new-card frame treatment (and in three cases, new art treatment) to cards that represent major story moments. With that in mind I think either Vindicate or Pernicious Deed are locks for the set, and Dark Depths also seems quite plausible.
Ponder or Serum Visions with Momir Vig art representing his stroke of genius in creating Kraj feels like the idea of the preview art. Stroke of Genius might also be it now that I think about it.

Probably just a bunch of villains, since Magic Origins was about the heroes. Nice way to give a small salute, though. If so, Bolas is definitely in. Marit Lage would make sense as the token. Would Heliod be a villain, or would it be Xenagos? Both are a bit treacherous.

I want an alternate art Heliod painted by Terese Nielsen.

I'd much rather have Hero's Downfall using the Elspeth/Heliod art.

That picture could be merfolk looter, it's from the same block as dream halls and is the source of the term looting. That would be very lore-y.
Look at what the person/creature in the announcement is wearing and look at what Momir Vig, Simic Visionary is wearing. It's seems pretty clear to me that is Momir Vig in the picture.
Don't bash me but I think that "Lore" is kinda lame and generic. It is a good excuse to repring both good and bad cards though.
Not that generic
Delve deeper into the events that shaped the Multiverse—and show your opponents that those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it! This limited-edition set includes cards from throughout Magic's history that are renowned for both their power and the stories behind them. Surprise your foes with blasts from the past they'll have to see to believe.
The only thing we have is that art describing Momir Vig, Simic Visionry. As Manite said: Momir crated the Experiment Kraj that become a big bad of Ravnica before entering in a coma. And Momir hinself was a big player on Ravnica.
Yeah, if I had to guess its cards depicting MacGuffins or important characters and events in MTG stories. Most Likely its the events, since MacGuffins were covered in FTV: Relics and the characters got their tribute in FTV: Legends
So, how to people buy this? Is it an LGS exclusive thing, or can you buy them online?
First one I've really been interested in.
Best bet is to preorder it from an LGS if at all possible. The prices on these tend to go waaaay over MSRP if there are any decent cards in them because of how limited in quantity they are.
If I remember correctly most of the ftv products included a card from the fall set, not the spring. So if Marit Lage were a going to be a villain in a set, it would be the fall set. (The two off the top of my head that didn't were ftv 20 and ftv exiled.)
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.

Hero's Downfall with Heliod/Elspeth art?
Yep- it's actually even worse, as the two cards you mention are at least different, if very similar.

There could be many interesting cards representing major story moments: Vindicate, Scapeshift or Mind Over Matter. However, we could also be getting Deicide, Planar Overlay, All Suns' Dawn and Conflux, though that wouldn't justify the MSRP.

And make a Kaldra Avatar
My bets for the card that makes the token is either Dark Depths or Helm of Kaldra. I've always wanted to see what Kaldra looks like.
