Didn't see this here so I thought it would share. A poster on 4chan's /tg/ (traditional games) board had this to say:
"The block after Innistrad 2 will be about a new plane called Sivagat. It's a desert world and will heavily reference Egyptian mythology. It will feature gods and the story will be a relatively small-scale mystery plot that's gonna be completely separate from any other story line going on at the moment. The reason for this separation is that WotC is worried that the block will mirror Kamigawa in certain regards due to the exotic setting and almost niche mythology that's not as popular as Greek mythology.
The first set of the block will be called Secrets of Sivagat and the second set will be called Fury of the Sand.
The block after that will be another Return to Ravnica. I have no information about that story and only know the name of the first set. War of the Guilds."
Seems worth keeping in mind, especially considering how many seemingly random leaks have popped up and ended up true recently. Egyptian theme has always been on MaRo's shortlist, and seeing as how we will be getting a "return" every other set now, Ravnica being so popular and all about Jace now doesn't seem so far-fetched. Link below.
Calling this fake from the mere fact that it claims wizards is worried the set is Kamigawa 2.0 - Kamigawa was an abject failure. Wizards would not print Kamigawa 2.0.
Is it wrong that I haven't been hugely favoring "Return to" blocks since roughly Scars of Mirrodin? After having played the original Ravnica block, I thought RtR's block was eh (GTC and DGM were pretty meh to me), and then I've hated absolutely everything about Zendikar 2: Electric Boogaloo, except this time they messed up Modern while they were at it (actually kind of think the Eldrazi deck is just as bad as Mental Misstep, an abject mistake lol).
Then again, I've mostly just been playing Legacy, Modern, Commander, and prereleases.... So... maybe I just missed out on the best those blocks could offer, but I'm so damn tired of Return To blocks. So, I'm sincerely hoping that Return to Return to Ravnica: Get Your Guildpacts Here is not a block we're seeing in the next few years.
The poster could be some fan of Blogatog, or could be someone from WotC throwing a spanner in the works.
There're many ways to start a fire. The more people talk about Magic the better it is for Wizards. It doesn't have to be real. It just has to be realistic enough. And they managed to get us talking already.
Egyptian theme seems plausible. However another return to Ravnica is far to soon since we only left 3 years ago. Moreover where already doing another return visit right after another return visit. Two new planes in a row to offset two returns in a row seems more likely. Then they might start to alternate between new/return/new/return.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if we revisited Ravnica every 3 years or so. It's easily the funnest plane they came up with and everyone loves the guilds.
i'm not sure if this is a really well constructed hoax, or actial leak, but one thing struck me: Sivagat
if you reverse the last 3 letters, it becomes Sivatag, which is hungarian for "desert" - as in an lot of sand covering large fields of sand and sand everywhere.
we are used to see tricky names from Wizards, i just don't see the connection here
Isn't 4chan like the troll capital of the Internet?
Yes and no, /tg/ is a rather tame board and such claims are seen rather skeptical.
However an Egyptian themed world a cool enough idea to discuss. Especially since the first magic expansion ever was Arabian Nights. So yeah I don't think that the majority of /tg/ really believes that this is a valid claim.

The issue here is that there needs to be a reprint of the shock lands to keep their price under $15.
Honestly, the Shocks and Fetches need about 4 reprint cycles to keep them from spiking too much similar to how Dual Lands were $10 for a very long time or how Pain Lands are/have been until the Eldrazi Aggro deck. There are just certain things in Magic that need their price kept in check, and shocks are a big one.

Life is a beautiful engineer, yet a brutal scientist.
Calling it now. When we do eventually get an Egypt themed block, we will have "Treasures from the Tombs" just like we have expeditions in Zendikar and the leak suggesting we have Echos of Innistrad. That said, I don't believe the 4Chan "spoil" is real. On a side note, when we make it back to Theros, we will have "Gifts from the Gods" as our expeditions.

And here you stand corrected.
Behold, a person who doesn't love the guilds.
The guild thing is getting old.
I did like Ravnica the first time around, but for me, there is too much of the plane right now. Not only does it already have two blocks, it was also a part of Origins (which I understand was a necessity due to Jace's story - necessity of Jace himself is questionable, but whatever) and almost a half of new legendaries in latest Commander are from Ravnica, because Wizards don't pay people to come up with new ideas. The plane itself could be interesting, but making it about the same old interpretations of color pairs third time around just sounds so damn boring. I wouldn't say I hate Ravnica, but I don't love it. So unless they are coming up with a Simic mechanic not involving +1/+1 counters, I am not stoked.

I love Ravnica but I don't know if I'm ready for a return there again. Dragon's Maze and to an extent, Gatecrash, left a bad taste in my mouth. I love the support for all of the colored pairs and that's the main reason I'd want a return, just for the chance to get cool new color pair cards for my various EDH decks. I'd love to see what Wizards would come up with for an ancient Egypt-themed set. A legendary Anubis god would be sweet.

Oh, I'm sure there are other people as well who, for their own reasons, don't like the guilds and/or the setting. It's just that in general, Ravnica has been one of the most popular planes because of them.
I do understand your criticism, though. For one thing, I couldn't care less about Jace and his investigations, but the guilds do have immense potential and can always be reinterpreted for new story arcs. Now, whether Wizards can take care of the job or not is always a different matter. And speaking of a Simic mechanic that doesn't involve counters, I'm more or less in the same boat, but with Rakdos. I found Unleash to be quite a disappointment, specially when I think how great Paincast could've been if done right.
I know it doesn't seem like it, but time goes by faster than it feels. A lot of people are talking about how it is too soon for a return to Ravnica but if you look at it in timeline:
Onslaught (last Dominaria set) 2002 Time Spiral 2006 (4 years)
Mirrodin 2003 Return to 2010 (7 years)
Ravnica 2005 Return to 2012 (7 years)
Zendikar 2009 Return to 2015 (6 years)
Innistrad 2011 Return to 2016 (5 years)
Return to Ravnica 2012 War of the Guilds Ravnica 2017 (5 years)
Seeing as how every other set is going to be a return set in the spring for now, I feel 5 years is a good spacer for a return to a plane. I also have a feeling that all of the return to planes will also be post Dominaria because of the new stories. If we look at the 5 year return then it could go something like this:
Theros 2013 Return to 2018
Khans 2014 Return to 2019
Battle for Zen 2015 Return 2020
Can't understand what's wrong with Kamigawa as "too exotic" world.
We have a Tarkir, after all.
Tarkir most certainly did not have the strange lore issues and confusing names of Kamigawa. The extremely abstract spirit art and the naming issues weren't present on Tarkir. Tarkir had it's own species and some of it's own words but they were well defined and easily recognizable. This is in stark contrast to Kamigawa's honestly head turning spirit art that caused many to squint and ask "what is this supposed to be?" along with Japanese names and terms that undoubtedly turned a lot of people off because, let's be honest, a lot of people already have trouble pronouncing a lot of words in English and I can't expect them to actually remember the names of cards in Japanese.
I think Kamigawa could be done again, but it would need a big overhaul.

If WoTC was worried that a set would be too similar to Kamigawa they wouldn't make the set.
So stopping the storyline at a time when the movie is going to be ramping up production (If all goes as planned) makes no sense.
The information about the sets is far too specific to be real. It would be more realistic for them to know cards and mechanics than set titles and story/flavor IMO.

It's not inconceivable that, if there were an Egyptian themed block, it would somehow explain the birth/creation of the Eldrazi if they're trying to do story continuity.

There is no need for any creation story for the magic version of "the old ones".
The creation story for Eldrazi should be "time began, and there were Eldrazi".
