I for one, am interested in this one. It was due for new art after 5 or 6 printings, I'm just not sure yet if I like this art better than the classic art.
Interesting. Probably in honor of Eternal Masters, similar to how they gave Modern promos around the time of Modern Masters. They had two for Modern, so I wonder if they'll have another one for Eternal. Likely means this isn't in the set, though.

Classic art all the way!. Im a sucker for the classic art of pretty much every card. Theres something about the esthetics of older cards that you dont find anymore. I guess its because new cards are digitally drawn rather than hand-drawn these days. It also has a bit to do with the art style as well. But generally speaking, theres something very tolkien-esque about the style and tone of the older art. Its just very fantastical and endearing.
It is the first FNM reprint that I know of.
Seems to be a bit of a "cop-out" imo.
There are so many other card options to use....and they use one they already did.
I'm rather surprised by the inclusion of Goblin Warchief, although not too much a fan of the art, but it is nice to see something a bit more useful than some of the stuff we normally get.
If art is too digital, people complain.
If art is too traditional, people complain.
Why not leave the portrait frame blank so people can draw their own damn art and complain about that. Be sure to include sticker sheets in boosters for the creatively challenged.
I already own a playset of the first FNM version (actually managed to obtain it during the actual FNMs when it was released, I was playing goblins back then), but I am happy for this card to make a comeback. The art is... not so good, though. I know this basically means there are going to be goblins in EMA, but one can hope, right? I'm going to believe this means that the next set is going to be tribal-themed and the guy is getting a modern-legal reprint. Because with EMA and new Conspiracy, it seems no wish is too outlandish.

Interesting, now we get FNM promo that's not even legal in Modern.

The promo is for May. Eternal Masters will be released in June. It's the right timing. I suspect June's promo will be Eternal-oriented as well.
Hopefully it's a sign of things to come and not just a tribute to EMA.

As for this promo, any goblin warchief not wearing a mox ruby is not a goblin warchief I would regard as such.
