Also, unless Wizards pulled some kind of super weird rush job to get this out, MaRo directly lied to us. I specifically remember when he was doing "if" versus "when" questions on his blog, he said that a second conspiracy set was an "if", meaning they hadn't already had one planned.
He did the same thing with respect to Nahiri's reappearance.
He's always been a little tricky,
but he's becoming straight-up duplicitous in some instances.

Haha well to be fair. When he did the if/when thing, someone asked him "Did you say 'if' on any of these when you knew the answer was 'when'?" and he replied "Of course : )"
I must be in the minority who absolutely hated Conspiracy 1. Lots of rares that are useless outside of draft, and the set was abysmal for drafting on it's own. The commons especially were bad, and then you had to somehow try and make a multiplayer deck with them to take down 3 opponents? Not fun.
Meh. I'm not overly excited about this. Those hard to find cards are truly expensive, namely Dack Fayden. Not a fan of this print-to-demand model, at least their interpretation of it.
Two sets isn't all that greedy. They'd have to eliminate good selling sets for Masters editions which is kind of silly to do. FTV should still be coming along. It often comes out like a week from the duel deck. It's a high dollar collector's set. I doubt they really care about it conflicting with anything. Maybe next year, we'll see more planechase along with Modern Masters.
Anybody who loves cube (myself included) will be excited for this set. The prospect of having a few new additions to test in ones own cube is never a bad thing.
I'm pumped. Cheap new staples from EMA and new cards to add to the cube. Gonna be a fun summer.
I'm more excited about this than Eternal Masters. The original Conspiracy was the funnest limited experience since Unhinged. Looking forward to that again.
Oh man, I'm super excited for this. Once it drops, I'll probably try to build that conspiracy cube I've always wanted to do. I loved the first format and hope the second just as wild and fun.
So this Summer has *two* opportunities to reprint Austere Command which they will no doubt pass on again?
Awesome!
All the same, I'm betting there will be quite a bit I want between the two sets.
The original CNS had great value,
and I won't be surprised if CNS2 ends up more attractive than EMA.

I wasn't expecting this, but bring it on. While I really enjoyed drafting multiplayer conspiracy, it was even more fun throwing a few packs into chaos draft.
The first set reprinted the much needed staples of Sakura-tribe elder, Brainstorm and Swords to plowshares. If I had to guess on what reprints we'll see I this set, Serum Visions is at the top of my list, closely followed by Path to Exile and Sensei's Divining Top (though the flavor of the top's name may disqualify it from being reprinted in any non-Kamigawa set, I'm not entirely discounting it since the first conspiracy had Sakura-Tribe Elder).
This is unexpected. I wonder how they will split the reprints between the two sets.
I think they would be approximately equally stingy on reprints per set (measured in value) either way. They don't admit it, but it seems to me like they're trying to make the EV close to the product price or a little below. This means two sets = twice the reprints Then factor in that people are wayyy to optimistic in their expectations. Either way, it's good news, and it's gonna be a great summer for drafters, EDH players and Legacy players alike.

I just thought "Is today April 1st?" when I saw this. There probably will be an FTV this year right? For one not to occur would be unheard of. FTV isn't so much a product as it is a reward to stores and it caters to very little of the playerbase anyways whereas conspiracy is pretty widespread. Hope some sweet stuff is in this that isn't in EMA. Wonder what new conspiracies there will be as they made some cool ones the first time around.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
I was looking forward to this, should be a fun draft, wonder what twists they will do with the original mechanics (a lot of design space left I think).
I trust your are able to understand that there is a difference between an ascended planeswalker dying and a dead creature ascending.
Moreover, Elspeth is not a zombie. She is currently in the Underworld. The Returned are Theran zombies who escaped Underworld back to Theros. She is, for all we know, trapped in a sub-plane of Theros, unable to simply planeswalk away.

The first Conspiracy was the only format where I managed to draft a beast of 4-color reanimator and smash face with it the whole evening, so yea, I am quite excited.
However... I don't want to be the naysayer here, but EMA and Conspiracy 2 happening so close to each other just doesn't feel right. Don't know why. Just feels like WotC are trying to grab as much cash as they can in the shortest time possible. As if the ship was sinking or something.

Nope! I have no idea! I don't think they've written a article detailing how the Planeswalker Spark interacts with Being Dead / Becoming Dead. How do the imaginary laws of physics work in Magic-land?
Moreover, Elspeth is not a zombie. She is currently in the Underworld. The Returned are Theran zombies who escaped Underworld back to Theros. She is, for all we know, trapped in a sub-plane of Theros, unable to simply planeswalk away.
But all the dorks in Theros that wear a funny mask are all Zombie creature types. And we know there's a funny mask for Elspeth. So, like, doesn't that make her a Zombie?

It became too much for me last year. Six sets this year, four of which are large sets? Gonna have to skip Masters.
My Conspiracy Cube is rejoicing right now
Also, I am extra excited to get the opportunity to speak to Shawn Main himself in April/May as he will guest at our local Convention
I Expect Wizards to really ramp the 'Conspiracy' element of this.
