So with the art for Brago garnering some extra attention, and everyone already vying for the throne, anyone else think Brago is becoming an Archenemy? He could have a double-sized card like Garruk did with a few abilities to choose from. Doesn't work for the draft aspect, unless they do different booster packs, but they did for MMA. Anyway, just my two cents, but I think it'd be cool.
Also, I hope that Daretti comes back and confirms his planeswalk was to Chandra's home plane.
I trust your are able to understand that there is a difference between an ascended planeswalker dying and a dead creature ascending.
Nope! I have no idea! I don't think they've written a article detailing how the Planeswalker Spark interacts with Being Dead / Becoming Dead. How do the imaginary laws of physics work in Magic-land?
Just go to Storyline forum if you really want to know more.
Moreover, Elspeth is not a zombie. She is currently in the Underworld. The Returned are Theran zombies who escaped Underworld back to Theros. She is, for all we know, trapped in a sub-plane of Theros, unable to simply planeswalk away.
But all the dorks in Theros that wear a funny mask are all Zombie creature types. And we know there's a funny mask for Elspeth. So, like, doesn't that make her a Zombie?
And this is what happens when an average Joe sees a trailer, does not bother to check facts further and makes a conclusion. Just see above.

Sparks ignite based on emotional moments, the creature needs to be sentient, and needs a "soul". Theros zombies are different than most, but lose their identity when they return from the underworld, thus losing much opportunity for an emotionally-overwhelming moment. Still theoretically possible.
And though Brago did die, he's more spirit than ghost. His death was slow, and Selvana(splg?) basically gave him an escape from the prison his advisors had him in. Again, theoretically possible, but quite improbable.
Still, we are likely to see at least one planeswalker, probably Daretti. Would be cool to get another, though. I doubt Bolas wants the crown.

Didn't the twitter MTGDeepThroat guy say last week that Conspiracy 2 was coming out this year, or was that something else?
Even if so, that's a low-risk guess. Also (I remember someone saying this too, but there's so many "leakers" now it's impossible to keep them all straight) they didn't get the name right IIRC.
I wasn't expecting this at all. I got to say that I'm excited about this set.
The 100$ question: Will it be an unlimited print run like the first Conspiracy ?
I would be more excited for this if it weren't for Eternal Masters.
I only bought a few packs of the original Conspiracy set, but I picked up a lot of nice singles like Dack Fayden, Scourge of the Throne, Pernicious Deed and Exploration. I can't wait to see what gets reprinted and what new EDH playables they come up with. I'd love a Scourge of the Throne reprint so I could get another non-foil cheap and have a shot at getting a foil copy cheaper too, but I doubt they'll reprint a mythic from the first set here.
What I like about the flavor of this set is that the apparent antagonist is WU - a color combination you wouldn't normally associate with evil-doings and conspiracies and treachery.

We actually know explicitly that on Theros, eidolons are the souls of Returned seperated from their physical bodies (the Returned itself), representing the identities they give up to don their masks and return to the overworld. In other words, Elspeth couldn't come back as a typical Theros Zombie despite their being much more human-like on Theros since they are explicitly known to not have "souls". Of course there's still any number of ways Elspeth can be brought back and indeed she probably will be eventually since the set up is so obvious even if we don't know the exact capacity she'll return. Just wanted to point out that even though Theros zombies are different it's still established that with what we know they can't have a spark.

They didn't care that he was the savior of Fort Keff, the great hunter of Ondu, the champion of Kabira. To them, he was just another piece of flesh, a thing with life to be drained away.

They're unlikely to ignite their spark, but I think they (for instance Elspeth who already had one) can have a spark. And since she used Godsend as her mask, it's possible someone will recognize her and in some way give her her identity back. Then the question becomes if she stops being a zombie, or if she's a zombie-soldier planeswalker. Since her original story was complained about a lot as being too similar to Gideon's, I doubt they would make her white/black and have her become similar to Sorin. But since she hates Phyrexians so much, I'm sure she'll be able to join the Guildwatch for when we see the Phyrexians again.
Only slightly related, I kind of hope that Koth went through compleation. Be cool to have a corrupted planeswalker.

Doesn't the spark protect against Phyrexian corruption?
And I'm another one looking forward to a number of new commander playable cards from the upcoming Conspiracy set.

I... don't know if it's a matter of "gaining" or "having" a spark. I don't know what (or even if there are) any specifics on this, but I'm pretty sure their intention is that being "alive" and having a "soul" is something you need to have at all times in order to be a planeswalker-- I don't think you can have a spark and die, but still be capable of planeswalking as long as you can become reanimated. It's why they jumped through the hoops during Innistrad to explain that Markov's brand of vampires are not "undead" technically speaking (notably they did the same recently for Zendikar's vampires, though the importance of that remains to be seen). If you could have a spark, become undead, and still retain the spark I'm sure they wouldn't have bothered to go through those hoops to explain how Sorin could planeswalk despite being something most people assume is undead and thusly shouldn't have a "soul".

Karn was basically an AI, got Urza's spark. Lost it, got Venser's spark.
Sorin is a vampire, which normally can't have a spark, but from a plane vampires are not typical vampires.
Ob Nixilis is a demon, which normally can't have a spark, but he was a planeswalker first and then regained his spark.
Furthermore, I believe it was Mark Rosewater that stated if they break certain 'rules' when making cards they just need an approval that it fits the flavor/theme to do so. Magic is a game of exceptions.

Oh, no, I think you may have misunderstood me or maybe I wasn't clear. I 100% wholly believe Elspeth will return eventually (it was far too obvious that this was their plan), and almost definitely with a spark. Just wanted to clarify the specifics on Theros's zombies work, and how despite being more human-like they still have the same issues other undead on other planes have to deal with.

Being almost a strictly online limited player, this set doesn't mean much to me, but being someone that loves flavor and who studies the Florentine Renaissance, this set means a ton to me. It makes me happy that sets like this exist, especially as a unique draft-focused set as an alternative to the masters sets for those players whom it isn't worth to spend so much on one draft.

Yeah, I LOVE the pseudo-magitech-Italian Renaissance setting of Fiora. It just feels so inspired and creative to me (appropriately enough for its basis I suppose). It's easily one of my favorite planes and I can't wait to see more designs and stuff related to it.

I hope most of teh mechanics and drafting sillyness are different this time. I liked it, but didn't have the depth for me that it did other people. Will of the counsel could come back, and some of the cards like Paliano, but I am hopeful wizards can bring in aenough new thigns to keep it spicy.

Not Planechase 3, either.
Thou shalt not frame images with the modern card face
Thou shalt not change rules in vain
Remember the Reserved List to keep it holy
Honor thy Slivers and the symmetry of their abilities
Thou shalt not kill mana burn
Thou shalt not sacrifice depth for accessibility
Thou shalt not steal combat damage from the stack
Thou shalt tell a story through thy cards
All must be one

The 100$ question: Will it be an unlimited print run like the first Conspiracy ?
If you want to be technical, you have Eternal Masters in June, Eldritch Moon in July then this Conspiracy 2 in August, that's 3 sets.
