I'm interested in the influx of the foil versions of these cards. So hopefully they include the Zendikar Fetches with new art, Mana Crypt, Snap, lily, and any other expensive or non existent foil version.
If the ZEN fetches are definitely in, I just hope this doesn't preclude them from a standard reprint in a couple of years. I could see Wizards deciding that they don't like fetches in standard, and only put them in Khans to "bite the bullet" and even out the modern mana base by making the allied ones legal. It is interesting that they also decided to change the rotation schedule to minimize time in standard, when they could have easily waited on that for a year so as to keep the entire 3 set tarkir block together -but that's probably reading too much into things...
Assuming they are not relegating all fetches in the future to "masters sets", then these wouldn't be the worst things to include, as there are many worse value rares that could be there instead!
And as to limited print run, hopefully it's closer to the MM15 size, so that MSRP can be maintained, even if initially the EV is higher. If there's enough product, the included cards will adjust in price to compensate. I would love if Wizards sold some product online to customers at MSRP, this would help ensure MSRP is maintained for at least a short while. Stores have every right to charge the market rate, I just wish there was a window (even if it's a short window) where the market rate was MSRP!
If the ZEN fetches are definitely in, I just hope this doesn't preclude them from a standard reprint in a couple of years.
I could not agree more. Having fetchlands exclusive to $10 limited boosters would be extremely greedy. I also think that fetches sell a regular set way too well for them to not do that again, while there are plenty of other cards to put in EMA that will guarantee to have it flying off the shelves even at the high price.
And as to limited print run, hopefully it's closer to the MM15 size, so that MSRP can be maintained, even if initially the EV is higher.
Availability is a known factor for this set, kind of. From the Wizards Play Network Eternal Masters page, the guaranteed supply for stores is as follows:
2–3 cases for WPN Core level stores
3–6 cases for WPN Advanced level stores
6–12 cases for WPN Advanced Plus level stores (source)
Modern Masters 2015 had 2-3 cases, 5-6 cases, and 9-12 cases for the respective levels, so it`s a bit smaller than MM15, but not by much, and MM15 can still be bought, but that also has something to do with MM15 being a terrible set. I don`t think this set will be too scarce unless the EV per pack is a lot higher than I think it will be.
I just want to point out that ALL SETS ARE PRIMARILY MADE FOR DRAFTING ALL OF THEM (since Mirage)
No, they're really not.
They're primarily made to be cracked for Constructed staples, the majority of which are rares and mythics, as that is what sells packs.
Drafting, and Limited in general, is an added bonus avenue of sales - as well as an excuse to not include too much value (especially at lower rarities) in a set.
It's your view. A lot of people enjoy the variance and gameplay of limited format and couldn't care less about constructed.
If there were no Constructed implications do you really think people would pay $10 a pack to draft Eternal Masters? Let alone the ~$15-20 it's probably going to be? Or even the ~$2.5-3 per pack you can buy most Standard sets for?
How much lower would the price point have to be for a "phantom" paper draft, where you don't get to keep any cards at all, for you to participate?
I'd say a lot lower.
Not true. I am personally a player who plays a lot of limited and I think I would play "phantom drafts" at the same price (10$) if I were to get a refund when I 3-0. Mostly, the cards you open are the cherry on the top of a draft experience, and you pay more for having seven people to play with plus the organisation of everything. It's still cheaper than cinema and last longer! I admit that might cause me to stop playing standard though since I generally only have to pay for 2-3 singles to complete my decks and I would not pay $200 or more each time I want to try a new deck, but my point is that when I play limited I pay for the game, not the cards.
Though I agree you are right that this is not true for this type of product that cost you like $50 to draft...
I can say that for 99% of people I know. This is not the case. If this line of thinking were true on a large scale, all the stores would be offering drafts nonstop, since it is literally free money for them.
I just want to point out that ALL SETS ARE PRIMARILY MADE FOR DRAFTING ALL OF THEM (since Mirage)

If you really believe what you write, you are sorely mistaken, friend, and you will never be satisfied.
Wizards themselves have said that they perceive Limited as the main source of revenue, and that is a reason why they keep repeating that a healthy Limited is the first concern of Wizards when designing sets. The needs of Constructed players? Much lower priority.
So no, all sets are primarily made to sell packs.
That is not mutually exclusive with the statement that they are made primarily for drafting.
And the best way to do that happen to be Constructed staples at rare/mythic.
For you, maybe. Definitely not for Wizards. They even openly declare their efforts to keep mythics from being Constructed staples.
If there were no Constructed implications do you really think people would pay $10 a pack to draft Eternal Masters? Let alone the ~$15-20 it's probably going to be? Or even the ~$2.5-3 per pack you can buy most Standard sets for?
Wait, why do you keep talking like "made for drafting" and "made for Constructed" are two mutually exclusive things?
CGoW is absolutely right that all sets are made primarily for drafting. That is an undisputable fact.
Having a healthy Limited motivates people to attend tournaments. The possibility of getting a valuable Constructed card that they can sell or use is a bonus that helps selling packs.
So essentially you are right, but you have it all backwards.
as well as an excuse to not include too much value (especially at lower rarities) in a set.

Didnt catch these although I think many of the ideas seem well founded as legacy, cube or EDH staples. Annoyingly I think you guys are right and this information is wrong.
As for the colour balance legacy does run on blue so it could be argued that they had the player base in mind. Having said this it wouldn't create a fun draft environment if everyone had U/x decks.

Another thing that screams fake about that list is that it`s way too full of value. Look at those mythic slots, they are all gravy, and the rares are also too good. I would crack that set all day long. We know from experience that this is not how they make sets at all, even at this higher price point. It looks more like a wish list than an actual set.
Edit: Also, the inclusion of Maro at rare is an obvious troll.

It shows the mythics as

There is also a list of all the rares, which are very interesting. Could be a fake, but it seems like just enough chase cards and value to be true.

Abrupt Decay, Chain Lightning and Gaddock Teeg seem odd as mythic, especially Chain Lightning. I could see Gaddock Teeg and Abrupt Decay being mythic for sealed/drafting, but Chain Lightning?
I've seen the same list that also includes the rares, and the ZEN fetches aren't on it, which I thought had a "verbal confirmation" from the leaker, so who the hell knows.
I think they are referring to the rumors on Twitter that somebody has got a full list that they`re trying to sell to vendors for $25k. I don`t think that list is the one we`re reading here (the one with Cursed Scroll). The fact that the Cursed Scroll list is (most likely) fake doesn`† mean that there isn`t a real one out there.
They also wrote "If true", so they could just take the opportunity to go "don`t you frikkin dare!!"

I think that mythic list looks sketchy as hell, particularly Chain Lightning and Abrupt Decay (not too good for limited at rare) but have you got the rest of the list?
Thats the link I saw. Seems sketchy for sure. I understand why Chain Lightning is a mythic if bolt is going to be in this set. They don't want draft to get ruined by the guy playing Burn. The list makes sense as far as I can tell. Yes there's some questionable stuff like port at mythic and wasteland at rare, and jitte/skull both at rare but... I dunno. It seems like just enough value to not be over the top, but justify the 9.99 msrp. If it's true, I'm pretty happy with it. If not, it makes me wonder. I'm pretty solid in the fact that I don't think Zendikar fetches will be I'm this set regardless of "verbal confirmation." It just doesn't make sense from wotc's perspective. They'll probably be printed in standard to sell a subpar set in the next year or so.
