I understand this person might be talking out their butts... but it wouldn't surprise me.
Well, now that eternal masters has actually been spoiled, this leads more credence to the reddit poster that stated he had heard a vendor talking about both splinter twin and bloom bans, along with eternal masters set. This now leads in to a very ugly area. This could have been someone who had just got lucky, or it could be he actually overheard them say this stuff. At that point, where did the vendor get that info from, and from which vendor did he overhear talk about it?
Not only that, but we had someone on here already state it was coming as well, which would point at a leak as well.
I would like to point out how the guy is spot on about vendors trying to give you less money then they say, I would highly recommend counting it out yourself. Hotsauce games did it to me at SCG Columbus just a few weeks ago, the calculator said one thing, and the guy was saying something else... then he realized he had messed up and I saw it and he tried to hide it. With how fast these vendors add up numbers, I can almost guarentee they're smudging numbers even if they say 15....15.....45....13.....9 in then end they'll give you a fake total of say, $80 (obviously with not that few of cards, but in bulk it's too easy for them).
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.

I thought they were talking crap until someone verified the claim about MTGPrice being almost broke, which AFAICT was new information.
Well magic is a randomized product so his comment in relation to vendors using their store for money funneling is probably a real thing and relatively easy to do.

There was a discussion about this in reddit's mtgfinance section recently, where someone that used to work in anti-money laundering operations said a couple of things about it.
Police are onto people using MTG for money laundering. You'll possibly get away with laundering $15000 but not $200000.
So that guy is now saying that the Eternal Masters "set run" is currently up for auction and the asking price is $25,000. Does that mean someone's trying to sell the set list for $25,000 or does someone actually have a complete set and are trying to sell it?
It could also be the order in which the set is distributed in packs, since pack-mapping is still a thing, just way more iteration-intensive than it used to be (or is worth, unless you're getting it in document form straight from someone else and can skip the whole "track thousands of pack openings" bit).
We shouldn't be surprised that huge stakeholders of Magic like SCG have access to info like these. While I don't like it because they control a huge chunk of the market, it is what it is.
It almost feels like insider trading. Especially if vendors get news one upcoming reprints and halt all buying of those cards until the announcement, while still selling the cards at the currently high price.
What does this all spell for the future? If WotC doesn't want leaks, they then need to stop sending out cards early to vendors, and back there product up. I believe this, in the end, is their own fault.
And as mentioned above, vendors who take advantage of the "leaked" knowledge do need to be held accountable. This is, to a lesser degree, insider trading. There are laws that stop a corporation from investing in themselves prior to a products release. The same laws should be applied to the vendors.
This "no reserved list legacy" rumour is getting out of control, too. Why would WotC hurt existing Legacy and Modern players so badly by making a large amount of card value in each format worthless? What kind of message would it send to players if they gave up on modern after five years? Why would you expect this new format to last longer?
This, so much this. It`s not even a rumor, it`s baseless speculation that has gotten out of hand. Dude on Goldfish wrote a "what if" article based on nothing but hypotheticals, like a thought experiment, MaRo didn`t deny on his blog that a new constructed format could ever possibly appear in the history of the game, and the new Masters set isn`t specific to an existing format… and voila, suddenly everyone seems sure that this new format is just around the corner. It`s all air, based on nothing at all.
Remember when the SFM unban discussion went from "oh, that`s a slightly unusual choice for a promo" to "there`s just no way we won`t see a SFM unban in Modern this month"? It`s that all over again.

No reserved list legacy is already a format if people are playing it. It is not sanctioned by WOTC, but it can still be a thing. Just last week there was a no banned list modern tournament. Wizards didnt give a blessing, but it is still a designed format with specific rules.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
And as we saw with the NPH leak, a lot of article writers, all of whom are players, many of whom are associated with Vendors, get godbooks early "legitimately." Never understood why this isn't a much, much bigger scandal

Why would they have to give up Modern? They could still have both formats and support them.
I figure the "no Reserved List" Legacy would last longer as there isn't a slew of cards that can never be reprinted and won't hurt the format by not doing so. Even with Eternal Masters the problem is the Reserved List and sooner or later something has to be done about it, either banning all of them or reprinting all of them. Right now those are the only choices to keep Legacy alive and keep Vintage on life support. Without the Reserved List we know that every card's supply can be increased, but right now we have 200+ cards that are dwindling slowly and won't be seeing anymore.

Actually sounds a lot more like the weeks and months before Modern was created. People debated between a format of 8th onward because of the new card frames vs one with 6th onward because that's the first set that contains no reserved list cards.

It is insider trading... which is a crime... which is reportable even under suspicions regardless of proof and they can't attack you back due to anti-retaliation laws... just saying
Selling to vendors seems silly anyway. You get so little value for your cards. They do try to rip you off as well, thinking you don't know anything about the prices. I've had them "miscalculate" to their benefit both when buying and selling. The worst is when they don't have prices on the cards and have to look up each one. Then they just give you some grand total. I demand they give me the price for each individual card so I can see it adds up correctly. Nothing this guy said is surprising to me. Most of them are cheats and thieves.
Vendors don't even care about you at all. I dealt with one before and their job is to rip you off then fear of loss you when you say "that's too low". Vendors are so unsanctioned that they can do whatever the hell they want; with them getting insider information, it makes it substantially worse.

there's no such thing as insider trading with unregulated markets like collectibles.
There's an interesting story from a ptq I was at a while back. I needed 4 Distress for the SB of a deck I was playing (standard). None of the players I talked to had it so I decided to go to one of the vendors. The card was only about 10c at the time. The vendors had it marked up to $1. I tried talking them down to 50c at least but they wouldn't budge. Finally I decided I would just go ahead and buy it since I needed it. As I was about to pay another player came up behind me and said: "wait you're not actually going to pay $4 for distress are you? Here take mine". He pulled out 4 distress and just gave it to me and wished me good luck. The look on the vendor's face was priceless.

Normally wouldn't give this the time of day but this person has posted new information that's been independently verified.
No new cards but a lot of gossip about alleged vendor collusion.
