Again, I will ask anyone to post up a link for these being sold under $249 shipped (USA only). Claims are just that unsubstantiated claims. I'd like to see the evidence and I would be grateful for anyone who can post up a REAL substantiated link with pricing below $249 shipped. Thanks.

Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
One thing I will say right now is that we all should ease up about all this financial dick measuring regarding preorders. In most instances, people only only saving saving pennies on the dollar (like $220 - $230 vs $240 - $250). It's not that serious. I personally preordered blind last week from Galactic Quest Comics in Georgia for $239 all in (shipped). I trust them to get me sealed box by June 15th and not cancel based on spoilers (which can happen with no-name lowballers on the internet).
Should people spend above MSRP in an ideal world? No. But this is not ideal. The people who preordered blind for at or below MSRP will generally make out okay (unless their seller cancels based on spoilers). The people who overpaid by less than $15 will similarly be fine, especially if they did it at an LGS (convenience, more trust, virtually no chance of cancellation).
Obviously we're all rolling the dice on both average EVs and specific boxes/cases, but we should all be fine if we didn't grossly overpay (and WotC doesn't pull another MM2 fiasco). So my fellow preorderers should chill a bit. You didn't "lose out" if someone claims to have got a sweetheart deal you had no chance at, or if a blink-and-you'll-miss-it seller popped up on eBay.
Now, are most of the people who didn't pre-order yet in a potential bind? Yes. The best time to preorder was before the allocation numbers came out (virtually impossible at most LGS, but a Wild West scenario on the internet). But again, you'd mostly just be saving ten to twenty bucks (a couple packs) versus today's prices. It's chump change in the long run.
Those who want to wait for the spoiler to come out are welcome to, but prices on singles and sealed product like this always go UP the closer to release, not down. If buying in blind is something you want to do, always try to do it as early as possible. If it isn't, feel free to wait.
Yeah... bottom line is that bragging about getting an exclusive deal/discount AND implying it's something that each of us can get (regardless of region) is pretty awful behavior. I'm sorry, but I gotta say that.
What I was saying is shop around. There are deals. Sorry it hurt your feelings. My deal was the best I saw, but there are multiple I have seen under 200. So shop around.
Very mature. My point is that you're misrepresenting a very exclusive, promotional discount as something anyone can get here:
You can order at a lot less than that if you shop around. I preordered 2 boxes for 170 a piece. I can't wait till Monday when we get spoilers.
And generally making unsubstantiated claims throughout the thread. I'm not "hurt". I'm PO'd at behavior I see as thoughtless at best and malicious at worst. You're spreading misinformation (including that comment about spoilers), pure and simple. Even if I have the wherewithal to know you're wrong immediately and call you on it, someone else might believe you. That offends me as a poster. Nothing to do with "hurt feelings".

I will say that eBay and other outlets still have listings at MSRP (including shipping) as of this posting (May 16th): Search results, individual listing. We're still all buying blind (and the best time to do that was before the allocation numbers came out), but there you go.
so, preorder now on the gamble that the set is actually pretty good, or conservatively wait but risk an increase in msrp? surprised theres still no spoilers.

It seems to me that Wizards have upped their no-spoiler game a little? Both with regards to Eternal Masters and Eldritch Moon.
Whilst it's pretty much standard op for Wizards not to release spoilers for supplemental sets until basically the last minute. Usually they DO try to hype them in a way they clearly haven't with EMA though. Word on the street is that WotC isn't fully confident that an Eternal-focused product can be a hit.
Moon's too far off for any spoilers, so that's really nothing surprising. We might get something unexpected/unofficial mid-June, but don't expect proper spoilers until the end of next month.
And yeah, most sets are a gamble. Buying blind is a gamble, buying after release is a gamble. Standard-legal sets and supplemental sets all work the same way there. The main issue here is that we've got an untested product line with a limited print run. It's somewhat akin to MMA in 2013, with the noticeable difference that nearly all the hype is grassroots/player-based rather than marketing.

yeah, i'm a bit bummed out. i wanna look at spoilers on tcg player/salvation and read comments and watch prices move around. oh well, will just wait until release date.
I read spoilers start on May, 23th
Not sure about the source.
Not the original source, but PucaTrade confirms it. From here:
The wait to see what's getting reprinted in Eternal Masters is coming to an end next week. Starting May 23, you can expect to start seeing spoilers. While there isn't much to report now, it appears that like past spoiler seasons, WotC is allowing popular content creators to reveal the cards. Unlike past spoiler seasons though, this one will be over and done much quicker, with Spoiler season lasting only one week.
It was posted on wizards tumblr. I dont have tumblr but saw it on my friends. Spoilers start monday. If there is a gp this weekend somewhere id expect a few from there too
Pretty sure 1 week is their standard for reprint-heavy or reprint-exclusive sets like this and MM and Conspiracy, and the 2 week spoiler season is for sets that are predominantly new cards (Standard sets).
My LGS guy is terrified that it's going to sell out so hard, so fast, he'll barely be able to get any beyond his first or second shipment from the distributor.
1 week preview period is indeed standard up for supplemental sets and precons. Nothing new there. I DO think WotC has been promoting this set far less than say a Conspiracy or Modern Masters, and that's probably due to their uncertainty regarding its potential popularity.
Honestly, if the product is good the more they wait the better it is, because prices are still very high, I'm afraid they could even increase a bit...
Like I said earlier, prices always go up as we approach release. My $240 (i.e. MSRP) preorder that looked sub-optimal 10 days ago is now virtually impossible to match. Even if the EVs end up looking like MM2, most people and places won't lower their prices much, if at all. The print run is just too small.

It's like MTGHQ said in his video: The most a store can get is like 6-7 cases from WotC, plus an indeterminate (but similarly low) number from distributors. And buying in at the naturally inflated post-allocation price is gonna be a ***** for LGS and players alike.
I'm pretty much just gonna wait for my box, cross my fingers and crack some packs. Then, whatever singles i couldn't pull I'll buy once the prices stabilize.
A Little Feat reference? Pretty good man. And I agree. If they reprint it, I can't imagine it being an uncommon simply because they're aware of the effect it will have on the collector's market. Rare maybe, hopefully not mythic, though, as it's not that huge of an effect... though I'd take it as a mythic over the rumored Chain Lightning being mythic.

Every P3K card that has been reprinted has had its price dropped quite a bit. Take a look at all the ones they put into Commander 2013 and the prices of the original, most fell 50% or more, and their rarity stayed the same. If Imperial Recruiter is reprinted it is going to take a major hit, even if it is mythic. In EMA it really should be rare though.

Commander rarities don't matter much, though. Its not like buying $30 worth of packs would give me good odds of getting any specific uncommon, let alone a rare or mythic. Especially when that is only 3 packs.

MTGSalvation; Where the whining is a time honored tradition, and enjoying the game is trolling.
You're not paying 30 dollars for 2 packs unless you are in the woods somewhere in the midwest where store rent costs two bags of potatoes. But seriously modern masters smashed prices and they jumped back up to or higher than they were. MM15 succeeded in knocking down things like goyf and clique.
Some of my friends are saying that EMA won't have any cards that are legal in modern and said that that is what Wizards has stated officially, but I don't remember reading anything like that. Can anyone confirm?

Agreed, I recently got one off of eBay for MSRP too and I'm glad I didn't wait. A neat "hack" with eBay is that you get eBay bucks, so I basically got $5 off the order. Now you'll be lucky to get it for $250, and $260 seems to be the norm.

From the official statement, it seems like it's heavily focused on Eternal and Commander formats. I wouldn't expect many Modern playable cards in it. Maybe Young Pyromancer.

Take a step outside time with Eternal Masters. This exciting set lets you draw on some of the most sought-after cards from throughout the history of Magic—some with new artwork—to enhance your Cube or your favorite Commander, Vintage, and Legacy decks.

But there's a lot of overlap with staples between formats, I don't think that statement excludes legacy staples that are also modern staples. So zendikar fetches, snapcaster mage, goblin guide etc could be included. The person who leaked EMA said that zendikar fetches are in the set.

One thought is the limited print run is unlikely to meet demand, so WotC doesn't want to promote a difficult to find product too much.
Another possibility is a lack of confidence in thw set, and WotC doesn't want to spend too much marketing effort at a potentially unpopular product.
After what we got in MM2, maybe there are only enough interesting cards to fill a single week of previews, with most of the set filled with chaff.
