Adding in another evil when you already have so many open ended, completely unanswered, evils is just.. sloppy. Not impossible, but frustrating in that some of these threads have been left open for a decade. To open another is just ridiculous and calls into question Wizard's ability to actually tell an overarching story. If they just keep adding new yearly evil flavors, the old ones cease to have any meaning, and therefore the new ones lose their meaning. If nothing ever finishes, then there's no point in being invest. That's why it shouldn't be a new evil, or even an old dormant evil coming back, like Merit Lage.
If this story doesn't somehow link into the existing stories and push them towards a conclusion, then wizards is just jerking everyone around. This should be Emrakul. Otherwise Emrakul is out there lose somewhere, and we're just adding another meaningless bad guy to the line up.
I think that's a narrow way of seeing things. With the exception of the Eldrazi, none of those villains are immediate threats to the protagonists. Bolas has been around for ages and so has Phyrexia in one shape or another. It doesn't make sense to expect Wizards to eliminate all those characters for good before bringing new antagonists into the overarching story. On the contrary, it only makes sense that more and more evils are born in an ever expanding multiverse, to the point that they might eventually have to face each other and give us entire blocks with no "good guys" involved at all. Basically, they are only meaningless if you think of them as things that need to be overcome completely in order to have new arcs, which is simply not true.
Also, speaking of loose ends, isn't that exactly what Marit Lage has been way before the things you listed?
My problem with a new bad is that we already have 3.
1. Bolas
2. Phyrexians
3. Eldrazi
And then you already have open threads with. 4'ish - Ashiok
5'ish - Raven Man
6'ish - The Veil
You know, I can actually see Ashiok being behind any sort of plane-wide outbreak of madness. And yet it did not occur to me as a possibility, nor have I seen it anywhere in the forums (might have missed it though, that wouldn't be anything unusual).

Wasn't said that this would be a new multiverse threat?Emrakull isn't exactly a new thing tough
I don't recall the exact statement you are referencing. I have though made observations that can make sense of this. Consider Battle for Zendikar-block. It has the Eldrazi as main villains, but it also serves as a setup to Ob Nixilis becoming an ongoing villain that directly confronted the future Gatewatch. The comments leading up to Magic Origins implied that their plan was to follow up on loose threads and complete the story arcs they start in a block while at the same time they would continue to expand their Rogues' Gallery.
With that in mind it wouldn't be surprising to have known villains side-by-side with new threats as to further both agendas at once. It really depends on what they consider a "new threat" as well e. g. I could imagine that an allegedly mad Nahiri on the war path against planeswalkers and their home planes could be considered a new threat since we have only ever met her in a supplemental product and/or if her becoming a threat is a recent development and/or because her being a threat would be new information to the Gatewatch as well as the audience.
It could be something entirely new, something not hinted at before, but I wouldn't consider any combination of the above interpretations as misleading. For what it is worth, I wouldn't mind meeting some new and unique threat to the multiverse. For the moment though it seems like the story elements that are in place are satisfied quite well with known quantities. Keeping in mind that a prominent reason given to switch to the two-set paradigm has been that they want to follow up on their stories and it seems likely we will have more returning story elements than we are used to.

Kinda felt that Ashiok was like Tibalt, an evil that just emerged and trying to find its place in the multiverse. And the Raven Man appears to be the one that helped in leading Lilianna to the Veil, so those two might be connected.

The reason this isn't brought up is because in the Comics Ashiok is still on Theors fighting Dack, and its assumed if we see Ashiok again it will be after that line in closed.
Well whatever is in this Eldritch Moon is some type of five legged shrew, with a voice like whispering thunder. Mad Prophet from Avacyn Restored might not have been so mad after all.
They need to do an evil team up in response to the gatewatch and give them their own 'oath' cards. Make the threat real instead of the 'avengers' vs 1 threat at a time.
Oh and Jace needs to die already... How that wuss has survived this long is beyond me.
Yes, they did have different numbers (001; 002 and 003/011, to be precise). So Multiple clues could be an option, yes. Maybe with different flavor texts, too?
I wish we could get just a snippet of info on Eldritch Moon before EMA spoilers start.
Honestly, I just finished Bloodborne, and the less they spoil about this set and the more it will be like Bloodborne, the better. Really hyped for the set (though during the draft we lost interest after drawing so I never played SOI).
But otherwise, what do you guys think would be a good MTG Youtube video, how should it be presented and such?
I planned on introducing each set, each with two videos. First one being about lore, characters, additional info (e.g. how Serra looks in the comics, how Planeswalkers got nerfed), places etc. and the second one about mechanics and cards worth mentioning.
Just letting you know before a mod does, this is not the thread for that kind of discussion. Probably should start a new thread in the Magic General Forum.

Yes that's exactly where that belongs along with any discussion of the relative merits of any MtG YouTubers from now on
Anyone else find it noteworthy that we have the expansion symbol for every set being released from now until next January, including both of the next block's symbols, and yet we still don't have Eldritch Moon's, which releases in a couple months?
So much secrecy over something we pretty much have had figured out for, damn when was the first post speculating on Emrakul being the big bad of Innistrad 2?

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure is was when the set title "Shadows Over Innistrad" was announced and someone just said "I bet that shadow is Emrakul" :3
