It will be announced that there will be no "modern masters" but there will be a new set this spring that is not solely based on modern, but based on other sets of magic.
All I've got for yall
What's your source? I did a search and saw nothing about anything like this.
A bit of history here; he leaked the BFZ duals exactly as written, gave enough info on Gideon for it to be seen as an accurate leak, as well as the new Omnath. He also leaked Undergrowth Champion verbatim. That said, he also got Hissing Quagmire completely wrong.
All said I'm giving him a nod. He had some spot-on leaks from BFZ, giving him a bit more credibility than most. I'll wait an see though.

Seems the Rumor Mill regulars are users of amnesia, because after all these years people really still don't understand how this Rumor/leak thing works.
Yeah I agree with the user who posted about that's how the rumor mill works. I'm reporting info forwarded to me from the exact same source from bfz spoilers. Don't have to earn your trust. Just throwing info for y'all to talk about.
Seems odd to take out Modern Masters and replace it with something that potentially means less Modern reprints overall. Sure it helps the other formats, but I don't know if that is a wise idea in the long run. Modern is getting out of control and even less reprints won't do it any good.
if this is true hoipefully they learned from MM2 and won't put so much worthless stuff in it. They have a shot to do something truly great. Oh and it not being $10 boosters would be great.
Awesome. More credibility to the theory of an "Eternal Masters" type set sounds pretty great to me. Don't care if a box is 500 dollars, if the set looks promising, I'll just have to save up.

Modern Masters was never likely to return this year - so far, they have done it every odd year (2013 and 2015), always adding two more years of Expansion sets.
So the next would be Modern Masters 2017, adding M12, M13, Innistrad block and Return to Ravnica block to the mix.
Seems logical to add another set in that spot for the even years.
Well, yes, that is why we've gotten things like Conspiracy. >.<

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Not that I am aware of, I was just at Youtube, and there's nothing there regarding upcoming sets. The PTQ is still going strong, and there is a new "Inside R&D" video up, but that one deals with the Zendikari people. Nothing new on Tumblr either.

Wow. If this is true, then even the business decisions Wizards makes involving Modern are stating to distance themselves from Modern.
That says something. It's funny that everything negative I have said about this format since its inception has been proven correct each time something involving it changes, or fails to.
Wizards could put $100 bills in packs and people would complain about how they were folded. http://www.twitter.com/Dr_Jeebus - Follow me on Twitter!

Final starting with nothing revealed. About anything : (

The Pro Tour is a prime opportunity for WotC to advertise their upcoming products. They always have announcements about some product. Why not this time? Makes me think this rumor might be true, and WotC didn't like having their thunder stolen, so they pulled the announcement and didn't replace it with anything.
On the other hand, that would be really petty and stupid of them to do.
How so? They haven't announced a darn thing. Last year at this time Modern Masters 2015, Magic Origins, and one week from tomorrow, FTV: Angels were all announced. There is an obvious backlog of announcements for them and they are likely quite upset at the SOI booster leak.
MaRO said there is a summer set so something is coming for sure, but they are making us all wait on what that is.
All I've got for yall
How would it confuse new Modern players anymore than Planchase, Arch-Enemy, Commander, and Conspiracy have?

Modern Masters added nothing to modern, this wouldn't either. Shouldn't be confusing.

People should learn to give feedback to Wizards.
I only fear that we will lose in reprint of staples/deck pieces/and hate cards.
