Not to mention that our big stores are terrible at stocking up-to-date product. I'll keep my eyes peeled, but I have little hope.
My local stores (Walmart / Target) usually have plenty for a good long time. I could be persuaded to pick some up for cost of product + shipping for those of you who want them.
Well good thing the Fat Pack has full-art Wastes, that way I can purchase one fat pack and be finished buying any and all sealed product I could want from this set.
Anybody think the inclusion of Wastes in the land pack will cause a run on the Fat Packs like there was with BFZ?
Most likely, and probably even more so. Right now there isn't many avenues to grab them in multiple besides one of the intro packs and fat packs. Wizards probably should have had at least two of the fat packs half half the land being Wastes, rather than one of them only having 4.
Slight tangent, but why doesn't WotC just nix the card guide, and 2 cardboard deckboxes, add a single die + some more basic land (maybe so we get 20 - 25 of each basic, instead of 16 of each basic land), and just re-market it as a 3-person draft kit?
I mean,
You get 9 boosters, which is enough for 3 people to draft with 3 packs a piece
The basic lands pack could act as a land station, though as per my suggestion, you might wanna expand i to 20-25 of each basic to ensure a lack of issues when it comes to having enough
It'd allow you and 2 friends to draft for fun, or allow the person with the kit to teach people how to draft
Adding 2 dice so the kit had 3 would ensure that the 3 people drafting would have a spindown die - good if they play, had one, but forgot/lost theirs, or are relatively new and don't have dice of their own yet
I dunno what nixing the guide, deckboxes, adding 2 more spindown die, and adding 4-9 of each basic land to the land pack would do for the cost, but I really think that fat packs have a potential to become really good teaching aids - and are actually most of the way there.

I only buy fat packs for the card guide.
I buy for the card guide and the box. Two fat packs generally holds all the uncommons and commons from a set, and makes for a nice aesthetic on the shelf.

I'm sure the reason is WOTC wants some kind of starter pack for newer players, and including the deck boxes is a big thing for that (I've been playing since Revised and I appreciate their inclusion in the fat packs).
There is a format you can play with a fat pack that WOTC has mentioned before:

I was thinking about something like this, except the lands are separated into 5 piles, one of each kind, and you either have to draw from the lands piles, or from the master tower. You can't draw from the lands pile if you drew from it the previous turn. Cards that tell you to search for a land instead gives you the option to search the master tower to search for a non-basic land, or allow you to draw from the basic land pile.
I've played tournament pack vs tournament pack, with the 75 cards as is, and it just isn't fun because a 5 color deck without mana fixing just won't work, and I think without the lands separated, it would be the same level of fun if you played a 5 color deck without mana fixing.
If only there was a more simpler way to shuffle a 200 card deck. I think another cool way is instead of making one single pile, separate them into multiple 60 card piles? The player would make a choice as to what pile to draw from. The rule is that if you touch that pile, you have to draw from that pile.
I missed the boat for BFZ because someone (or a few folks) bought the entire supply in Houston within a day. This will be equally as bad. You can't even preorder these things for retail. This is crap...

My local Walmart had all of the Oath stuff out yesterday, which was very fortunate because I knew I wasn't going to be able to get out this weekened and I really wanted a fatpack. They had about 7 or 8 fatpacks, so I grabbed one. 7/9 rares were Eldrazi cards. That kind of made me laugh, though I was really hoping for at least one Oath of Nissa. Got Knot-Vine Seer, Displacer and Reshaper though, so that was cool. No mythics or even foils though, which was strange because usually I end up pulling like 3-4 foils (usually commons/uncommons) out of fatpacks. 5/9 packs had a Wastes.
Was disappointed to see that the land pack had a ton of the reprinted Zen lands in it. I already have a ton of those and don't care for the Island, Mountain or Swamp. To make matters worse I pulled those same lands in several of my boosters too. >_>

I remember the opposite, that they contain full art Wastes in addition to the normal basic lands.

Mark claims that Oath's fatpack should have the same full art basic lands as Battle for Zendikar's. I do not know about Wastes though.
