Has a blue card before Unity of Purpose directly created and placed +1/+1's on other creatures? Graft, Proliferate, and Shadowmoor stuff is all manipulation of existing counters on creatures.
No, seriously, the fact that people expectedInquisition of Kozilek to be reprinted here baffles me completly. It was a thing you could deduce yourself
Well expectations are hard to temper, especially when the expectation so closely fits with reality. They're doing Eldrazi vs Zendikari, high cmc vs low cmc, so it's a pretty logical conclusion to draw that they'd reprint it. You know, even more so with this being "the kozilek" set. The only real hamper on this that doesn't require following MaRo on his social media is the fact that Inqui doesn't have devoid.
There are actually some for sale in the mid-20's on TCGplayer. I haven't checked the other major sites yet though. I think IOK will probably stabilize around that price or close to $30.

Lots of cool and interesting commons and uncommons, which is surprising to me. I'm glad for that, at least.
I wish they would have expanded on Rally and Landfall more instead of doing Support and Cohort. They're just bad abilities.
I wholeheartedly agree. Landfall is a great mechanic and would have made the set a lot more interesting. At least they introduced surge, which I think will be useful.
Are we not getting new tokens in this set? Nissa creates 0/1 Plant Tokens, and Chandra creates 3/1 Elementals that have haste, but no trample. I'd assume WOTC was planning on making them?
Is Rampant Growth also considered "too strong for Standard" now? Also lol at Shock being 2 mana just so it can have Devoid? At least, I HOPE that's the reason why Wizards thinks Shock should cost 2 mana now... Also RIPTitan's Strength
I'm happy to say there were still some cool cards left to spoil. Cohort really disappoints me because it's hindered by all of the good Cohort cards not only costing a lot but also requiring you to tap the creature with Cohort to trigger it. Whatever happened to the days of Master Apothecary and co?
I don't have the source but I think Maro said that Rampant Growth is too strong for Standard.
So Rampant Growth IS now too powerful for Standard and we get a worse version of a mechanic that was never OP because once again Wizards thinks players are too stupid to comprehend something that's been part of the game before. Good job guys!
Not impressed.
Eldrazi once again look all the same, and most of them do similar things, adding C to your mana pool or something... yawn.
Cohort is terrible, tapping two creatures just so I could get 2 life or something... come on!
The Planewalkers/Avengers plot makes me sick.
Also, the flavor text on these cards is terrible: Dread Defiler, Havoc Sower, Unity of Purpose (is Gideon Jesus now?), Prophet of Distortion, Steppe Glider etc.
I'm glad that we are finally done with this abomination of the block. Hope WotC picks up its pace at SOI, but I'm not holding my breath.

No, seriously, the fact that people expectedInquisition of Kozilek to be reprinted here baffles me completly. It was a thing you could deduce yourself, it's a thing MaRo confirmed, and yet, people were in denial, and now the card tripled in price. This is why we can't have nice things.
I swear next time I see people hoping/expecting a reprint of something we know isn't being reprinted that's a reasonable price (i.e. not snapcaster) I'm buying them
Where are the tokens? Can anybody let me know if they spoiled any?
Maybe there are no tokens, since the slots are needed to have enough Wastes out there... It's just speculation though.
A quick scan and comparison with BFZ reveals there's only 3 new tokens in the set based on the cards creating tokens - 3/3 Angel (Linvala), 2/2 Zombie (apparently BFZ didn't have any) and 0/1 plant (Nissa).
Returning tokens include 1/1 Eldrazi Scions, 1/1 Kor Ally, 2/2 Knight Ally and the 8/8 Octopus.
The 10/10 Eldrazi, 3/1 Red Elemental, 5/5 Dragon, 1/1 Plant and 5/5 Red & Green Elemental don't return in OGW.
I did this with pretty much a quick glance, so I might have missed out on a few details.
Chandra uses the 3/1 Elemental for her +1. Also, you missed the X/X Green Elemental from Seed Guardian.
For the most part I really like this set (it blows BfZ out of the water) but damn, some of the flavor text is bad. Like, how did Creative let something like Havoc Sower pass?
wall of resurgensce does not have awaken because awaken is an additional cost you put on sorceries or instants like kicker but without stealing as much design space as kicker. it just doesnt fit the awaken template at all
But it basically does the same thing as awaken. It puts a number of +1/+1 counters on a land to 'awaken' it into an x/x elemental with haste. That just bothers me. I know it's not exactly the same but..it just bothers me.
Claws are also just kinda sweet attrition value, since it enables itself. Once you've produced at least one ally token, even if the original wielder is killed, you can keep equipping the tokens and generating more tokens, attacking for at least three while laughing in the face of targeted removal. Seems like a solid place to be even without Ally synergies, potentially.

Not interested in this set at all. I'll pass on Limited and Standard this time around.
As far as EDH goes, it's sad that the card I'm most excited for is Baloth Null.
With concerns towards Modern, I was excited to see a new deck shake up the format, but BfZ and Oath are eerily "Devoid" of good reprints, even though we were told the two-block paradigm would bring us more exciting reprints since great cards would stay in Standard for shorter periods. I was even working towards building a new Modern deck, but seeing that Wizards has no intention of supporting the format except through super-expensive supplemental product, I think I'll settle for my barely Tier 2 deck and call it a day.
There are actually some for sale in the mid-20's on TCGplayer. I haven't checked the other major sites yet though. I think IOK will probably stabilize around that price or close to $30.
You can get two copies from the Modern Event deck (as well as three Path to Exile). I wonder if that will make the event deck's price rise?
I'm not as down on this set as others, but the devoid burn spells are really annoying me. Touch of the Void should either cost 1R or be an instant. Devoid shock should just cost R (and why no exile clause?). I'm trying to make a BR Devoid aggro deck here, but god damn does wizards really not want me to.
Ruin in their wake is also a lot more interesting at G. It's still pretty hard to land it as a turn 2 ramp spell (and impossible turn 1), but it's not strictly worse than Rampant Growth.
Nothing else stands out to me as being so obviously overcosted by 1. I do like that green seems to actually have ways to deal with flyers in limited in this set. BFZ was pretty bad about that.
But they gave us ONE card that gains you life when it becomes tapped

Good thing I threw this into my sig. It fits!

P.S. Why did they change the number "5" in mana costs? For example, look at Kozilek's Channeler and Zendikar Resurgent. Or is it just me?
