That card's really hard to make work and costs 6. I'm guessing if you are "competitive" you'd rather run lower curve ramp and tutors to win and not dick around with 5+cmc junk like these.
Love the art on this new Eldrazi. This is how they should look... completely alien, and not like they could be imagined fitting in somewhere on the regular color scheme.
Not so sure about the green enchantment. At that much mana, you're typically looking to play your finisher in a ramp deck, not play something that helps get you closer to a finisher.

Yea, but once you play Reliquary Tower, it's value all the way...
As much fun as Rally is to play, I don't think they really needed another guy this good. This is pretty clearly Modern playable, let alone Standard.
As for Zendikar Resurgent, it'll certainly find a home. You won't be losing if you untap with this, which is about how strong a 7-drop needs to be to be playable.
Wouldn't this guy be a big strain on the mana base? I know you can cast him off of Sifter tokens, but I think you'd need C sources.
Matter Reshaper looks good. Dies is worse than leaves the battlefield as far as triggers go, but LTB might be a bit much to ask for in the same set as Eldrazi Displacer... Low cost creatures that replace themselves have a pretty good pettigree, and I would be shicked if this doesn't see play.
Zendikar Resurgent is no Mana Reflection, it's more like Caged Sun trading the color restriction and the anthem effect for a permanent Glimpse of Nature at the cost of becoming . For most people that are green and in the market for a caged sun, zendikar resurgent seems better. Not every green deck is mono after all and really the anthem doesn't matter that much if you aren't going pretty wide in most games. Drawing a card though? That's one of my favorite things to do in magic
a seven mana mirari's wake? Pass I think..even in Animar i think I would pass.
It's easy to miss the last sentence of the card. I know I did the first time I was reading it. My thought process was "Whoa, 7 mana for this? ....OH..."
I think your Animar deck would like to refill your hand.
The power level between the pre-colorless symbol eldrazi and the colorless symbol ones is huge. Looks like they shoulda introduced it first set.
I actually thought this, even before they started revealing cards. I have no idea why they didn't at least INTRODUCE the colorless land mechanic in the first set. It would have been perfectly fine as flavor, and wouldn't have made for such a broken-in-half feeling block. If I had my preference, I actually think it would have been perfectly natural to reveal the colorless vs. generic mana concept in Origins, but I can understand why they wouldn't have done that, given that it probably would have telegraphed Zendikar as the next set.
They probably had the whole block templated already and sent it to print before cramming the rest into one set instead of 2. Still would have made more sense to do colorless a set earlier, but I'm guessing this whole block is messed up due to the last minute change in block structure.

I did see it, and your probably right, this is more than likely one of those cards that after I play with it or a friend murders me with it, I learn to love lol
but reading it for the first time, I want to draw a bunch of cards for seven mana (or the equivalent), not play a card to set up drawing more cards. I like opportunity and I like glimpse of nature, the last line of this card isnt quite either.
Again, Ill probably change my tune after getting murdered by someone utilizing this lol

Zendikar Resurgent - I'm really glad that there isn't a dozen of people who don't play EDH looking at this card, the mana cost and saying "EDH fodder" or whatever. Really glad since I would have to agree with them. Stapling a Glimpse of Nature onto a Mana Reflection is quite a wonderful combination. Of course, before anyone says it, yes, it does go infinite with Palinchron, but that will make Animar players even happier. This card is very, very welcome into the format, good work.
IT. IS. NOT. MANA. REFLECTION. Seriously, people, are you blind? Why do you keep repeating it?
It does not DOUBLE. It adds just one more mana. It does not work with permanents, just with lands.
IT. IS. NOT. MANA. REFLECTION. Seriously, people, are you blind? Why do you keep repeating it?
It works like Mana Reflection only for single-mana producing lands. Elsewhere Reflection is far better.
You are correct, sir, 100%. Relevant for Cabal coffers and gaea's cradle, as well as any other permanent type that taps for mana.
But I think people are making the comparison because of the similar mana costs and the fact that for many people using mana reflection, it is effectively the same thing (ie they are just using it to get 1 more mana out of their lands anyway.)
Again, you are def correct, but I can see why people are hasty to make the comparison

The comparison between ulamogs and kozileks brood seems absurd in terms of power level to say the least. I thought Thought-Knot seer and reality smasher were good already, but now this pops up and makes me wonder if this is something even for modern. I also dig the art, should look super-flashy in foil.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.

OH MAN! I hadn't even thought about how awesome Kozi's lil buddies are going to look in foil! Maybe Ill get a butcher of truth and do some colorless edh awesomeness now
Also, I am skeptical about this guys applications in eternal formats. What kind of decks want this ability? Im not poopooing it, I genuinely am curious what this guys uses could extend to

the reminder text is completely pointless. my least favorite thing wotc does is pointless reminder text and make new keyword abilities with reminder text as part of the rules text. Ex. Land fall souldv'e been "Landfall - Gain 2 life.(Landfall triggers when a land etbs under your control) because rares with reminder text is pointless.
Friendly reminder. Making strongly worded arguments is one thing. Seasoning them with direct/personal attacks is not.

Thank you Exactly what I had in mind, because someone mentioned Coffers at page 2. Again, I see why they are making the comparison and that for those interested in playing it, it works like M.R. in 90% of cases.

what about lands that produce multible colors of mana likeGolgari Rot Farm? as i read it Zendikar Resurgent adds one mana of any color it produces, therefore it would add one black and one green.
or am i reading it wrong and can only choose one color of mana and add one extra of that?
The card specifices one mana, so I think that in the case of Golgari Rot Farm you'd pick either green or black and get one mana of that color.

I am admittedly not too fond of Zendikar Resurgent. It is nice for slower formats, in my opinion.
This set looks much more reasonable than Battle for Zendikar.

It is one-sided Mana Flare/Heartbeat of Spring. It is Mirari's Wake/5C Caged Sun without the boost line.
