Great cast that turn 3 gideon turn 4 and you can create an emblem and still have him around plus you have two tokens to protect him. This isn't going to be annoying at all.
Oath of Gideon is a great trigger for Ally tribal decks! And it works with Gideon, Ally of Zendikar who also just so happens to be good in Ally tribal. Man, I wish Gideon was actually affordable so I could try the deck...
I don't know how I'll ever fit all of these great Planeswalker support cards in my Superfriends deck. I mean, this one is a must include. Throws out blockers and makes Planeswalkers just crazy...
The taplands are so depressing though. Such amazing art wasted. Why are Refuges suddenly OP? They were downgraded to COMMONS in Khans block, now we get uncommon ETB tapped duals with no bonus effect? I just don't understand the logic. Another set of ETB tapped duals, even if they just gained 1 life, would have been great for budget EDH decks.
Now I just need WOTC to print; Oathbreaker-Equipment

The art for Kozilek's Return just looks wrong. It reminds me of a bad custom Magic card where the creator simply picked an art on the Internet that was obviously never meant to go on a card and did a quick crop to make it fit. It doesn't look like Kozilek is blowing up the world, more like he's leaning forward to pick up his wallet or something.

i feel Oath of Gideon coulda been 2 Mana legitimately d:/ But still playable. Are there any ways to blink or return those Oaths to Hand, in order to gain the triggers over & over again ?
With all the lousy art in this set, why did they have to waste gorgeous art on these lands no one will use? These blow away the allied fetches by miles!

Because Khans needed a lot of color fixing at common for the limited environment to work. OGW is the opposite, it needs a lot of colorless lands at common for the "colorless matters" cards, so the fixers needed to be moved to uncommon.
Oath of Gideon is by far my favorite of the cycle to date.
it may not be the most powerful one, because Nissa's gives quite a nice impression on Ponder, which is crazy (I'm still not really convinced this is an effect a green deck would like that much though) but certainly packs quite a punch.
it's a lot more interesting than restricted mana fix in the color of general mana fixes.
and also more interesting than a Thassa impression with some looting attached.
also, 3 mana for 2 allies while making a big setup for all those pretty powerful CMC4 walkers is pretty crazy.
I'm in love.
Sorin ultimate the turn after he comes out with Gideon's Oath. Same with Ugin and monoR Sarkhan (not that anyone really plays him for his ultimate). Just be glad Elspeth isn't in the same Standard as this thing.
So Maro talked about how we will see more Oath cards in the future as more Planeswalkers join the Superfriends Gatewatch. I'm already curious to see some multicolored Oaths and we don't even have the mono cycle complete!

Oath of Gideon seems almost stupidly good.

Right? It's tasty.
Really want Oath of Gideon tho, looks amazing and the art is actually okay this time
The Oath looks good for allies with Gideon.

The rarity is nice for a limited environment that largely works around two-color builds.
Lord knows I don't need another 20 of these at common sitting in my box.

They would then be the worser alternative to pain lands, but still better than just generic tapped lands....
