Cavern of Souls, Gemstone Mine, Grove of the Burnwillows, and Horizon Canopy don't feel like Zendikar or any place on Zendikar. That's why I didn't put Glacial Chasm or Thawing Glaciers on my list.
Also, the lands have to be rare, at least, which is why Temple of the False God doesn't really work. Petrified Field is a good card. It should be run in more EDH decks, it's rare, and it fit a space in my list. -- no one Really likes Temple Garden, but I got 2 of them in my BFZ packs.
I could be looking at this the wrong way, but did they change the text of Ancient Tomb so that it produces the same nana as out new spoil basic land Wastes? In other words, did they set this up to help assist cast new cards like Kozilek, the Great Distortion? If so, it might see standard. But like I said, its hard to make out that symbol and I may see it wrong.
no way is Ancient Tomb going to be standard legal. it pumps out a lot of mana! t1 hangarback would jam.
I think these expeditions will be mostly for legacy. weren't the last expeditions legal in the formats the originals are legal in?

They didn't change the text of Ancient Tomb so much as re-templated how they're representing colorless mana. Ancient Tomb still does the same thing it always does.
And no, you can't play Expeditions in Standard unless they already happen to be Standard-legal. This is more like a FTV release that's distributed randomly in packs (which I think is a super-cheesy gimmick, but that's another topic...)
If you randomly have an Expedition in your Sealed/Draft pool, however, you can use it in Limited.
ancient tomb is another expedition I want for edh, too bad it'll also be incredibly expensive because of the playability
I think it'll be more expensive because of the rarity. MtGGoldfish has the Tempest printing at $13; that's pretty good for an old-school uncommon that has Legacy playability. I'd just grab that if you want it for EDH.
Unless you're trying to pimp your EDH, in which case... ouch. I'll grab a foil here and then if it's a few bucks more, but by Jace is a photocopy and so is my Verdant Catacombs. I'm too rough on cards to trust myself to shuffle things that have that much resale value.

yeah I have a few edh decks I'm trying to pimp, one I might just get the FTV ancient tomb for but I guess 2 ftv ancient tombs is cheaper than 1 expedition one
FWIW Ancient Tomb was printed as an uncommon
