I really like this card, but honestly was hoping for an angel. It means that I can finally finish my black/white deck through something other than reanimator and stax. I have too many reanimator decks.

Life is a beautiful engineer, yet a brutal scientist.
oh lord.... Ajani's Pridemate already gets way too big VERY quickly in a Soul sisters like deck...
this dude is orders of magnitude more powerful.
it's scary.
this dude is SO STUPID POWERFUL it may actually bump soul sisters to a legacy playable build (not tier 1 certainly, but I bet it could steal some matches)
It's REALLY easy to bump this guy to 10/10 or higher by turn 4, he really gets out of hand REALLY, REALLY fast.
Actually a pretty rad Voltron/soulsisters commander.
There are a lot of ways to build around this guy, so even though I dont find him particulary awesome, I can appreciate how cool the design is for this format.
Home run I say because I know some folks who were begging for something like this

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
What I love about this guy is that there are so many good B/W cards that gain life without being gimmicky and 1-dimensional. They are just good cards regardless.

So Legacy BW Soul Sisters viable? Black gives you access to Thoughtseize and Inquisition against combo decks, Lingering Souls, Zealous Persecution, and Vindicate, which are all pretty solid. The Miracles matchup seems a little concerning, though.
He looks powerful but a little one dimensional. I worry that building a deck jammed with lifegain will end up durdling a little too hard, "I need a board wipe or a tutor but i keep drawing life gain cards!","I'm gaining lots of life but not actually doing anything". I won't deny how strong he can be, he costs only WB, can be cast numerous times a game, can get very big very fast and even Exile problem creatures but I imagine he'll put a target on your head and he comes with no evasion and no protection "A 6/6-8/8 on turn 3? we have a threat!".
Don't get me wrong, I think he's cool and am considering him as a commander; but atm my gut tells me to stick to good ol' Teysa, Orzhov Scion, my current list isn't centralized around Teysa, rather she serves as a means to enhances the synergies of the deck which I think is better. The deck plays to slow the game down, generate tokens to sac them to win a game of attrition and life drain, Teysa gives double value on saccing black creatures and can sac white creature to exile problem creature which is awesome. In my experience Decks that rely heavily on the commander are easier to deal with and are too feast or famine for my likes.
I like this card, but I actually wish it only gained 1 counter per lifegain event. As it is, I think it's too easy to build around, and will be really annoying to play against. I like my commanders to be a little janky, I'd much prefer if this effect was more of an "every once in a while you get a free kill spell" rather than just "build around this and have limitless unmakes."

Gaining life in commander is already worse than it is in other magic formats for more than a few reasons. It's usually a waste of cards and–worse–makes you a target. People who try to exploit his abilities too much will end up with weak decks, but good decks centered around him will include cards that otherwise would be overshadowed. To me, that makes him a very good addition to the multiplayer commander format.

I don't think it is just yet, but I'm brewing in my head. Keep your eye on the Soul Sisters thread that I'll necro in the next couple days.
I'm really interested in seeing the full BW deck list now. There is no overlap in synergy between daxos and this guy, so I really want to know how WOTC is going to make it feel like a cohesive deck.

Pretty sweet card. Daxos still seems like the trump B/W Commander for this set.

I was gonna write a thing but this post is basically what is in my mind, and in my heart. Karl is making me very happy.
I expect a stiff breeze to be a lot stronger than Daxos in practice.
