Yeah well, Rosewater is past his prime and needs to be set out to pasture.........far far away from here. Silverheart wolfir was one of the best sleeper cards I found in the set for a blue/green deck and the rest of the wolfir weren't bad, they certainly out do most of the recent eldrazi cards that just sit around and do nothing.
There were only 2 wolfir (Silverheart and Avenger), and both were very good magic cards. MaRo didn't say anything about powerlevel or card design, what he called a failure is the concept of the wolfir itself. People were expecting werewolves (especially a legendary one) and suddenly they were all gone.
As a werewolf player I was upset because of the wolf sub-type. If Wolfir Silverheart and that other one had the werewolf sub-type I would have been happy. It is the fact they pulled another ally move by not including any werewolf creatures. Thats where Maro said they failed.

I'd much rather it be like due to Sorin's innate magic her inner black magic comes to the forefront so she has a bit of a personality change. I like the character enough I don't want her corrupted/mind controlled, but it would be kind of neat if she found out about her own origins and having to deal with the fact she may not be as different from the "monsters" as she thinks.
2. Reprinting Snapcaster Mage would most likely mean that wizards wants to sell the set based on hype and nostalgia, not new badass design.
I highly doubt they would reprint Snapcaster. They already are offering the card as a promo with alt art. Kinda like how they didn't replicate the Annihilator triggers on the eldrazi in BfZ, I don't think Snappy is coming back. Maybe a remake of him like Trinket Mage > Treasure Mage in the SoM block?

I agree completely. I guess my reasoning for not reprinting it wasn't stated that clearly. I was just offering my opinion as to why it would be a bad idea.
Here's my wild speculation plot: Sorin goes to Innistrad to look for Nahiri. Kozilek follows him. Queue Lovcraftian gothic horror theme, complete with doomsday cults and all kind of nonsense. Avacyn gets corrupted/enraged. As a result, wolfir revert back to werewolves. Avacyn's church crumbles as she tries in futility to stop the titan. The necromancers see another opportunity to turn the tides. All hell breaks loose. Sorin saves Nahiri, but ultimately Kozilek eats the plane in true Cthulhu style.

My apologies, children, for I am afraid I cannot save you all.
Jace goes to Innistrad, and Avacyn heals the damage done to his mind. He regains all his memories, and all the experience he has gained has given him the tools to cope instead of just wiping his mind again.
Jenrik discovers the true power of the moon along with Tamiyo. They destabilize the plane causing Avacyn to become dysfunctional.
Tibalt takes advantage of the chaos.
Sorry. Everyone else was doing it and I couldn't help myself.

Lycanthropy Awareness Day.
Hoping for a cure, or at least an outbreak.
With Garruk Veil Cursed having strong ties to Innistrad, and last we knew, was on his way to see Avacyn. Liliana, also hating angels, could have arguably also corrupted her, as we don't yet know the full power of he veil, or it's curse. Either scenario would explain Sorin's absence from the events on Zendikar, and with Jace seeking Sorin on Ugins behalf would explain why he is being featured in the art, though why it's not Sorin, Garruk or Liliana in the art is questionable.
I know that the recent UR's have given Jace some actual character depth, compared to what he had in the past, I'm getting pretty tired of Jace's over saturation in recent sets.
So the only thing we have to look forward to in future are...return blocks.
We only left Innistrad, what, two, three years ago? And now we have to go back? C'mon now. Let's return to Lorwyn before we return to Innistrad.
EDIT: Watched the trailer. First thought was "LOOK, PHYSICS!", and afterwards was "Angel feather into blood that warps the mark of Avacyn - corruption of angels, either in the form of an angelic revolt against all of Innistrad, especially the vampires, OR the angels somehow becoming vampires, the falling of the angels of Innistrad."
Which, from a lore standpoint, IS AWESOME. From a gameplay standpoint? Eh. Wizards really needs to stop resting on their laurels so much - it's not going to win them any praise and is in fact extremely lazy and boring, to say nothing of predictable.
I can't believe you guys are hating on this so much. I literally wanted this more than anything else for the next block, and I will hype it nonstop until release.

Stinks of hype marketing to me.
Return to Theros will be next followed by return to return to Ravinica because the 10 guilds are super popular don't you know?
According to MaRo, EVERY set is the best-selling set of MTG history. Theros apparently sold loads, even though we know the only reason for this was lands + Thoughtseize.

Excuse me, what?
Ok, since so many people don't seem to understand how this is not even that short a wait, let me explain. MaRo creates his 7-year plan back around Return to Ravnica design. In it, the likelihood is that Battle for Zendikar and Shadows over Innistrad are still back-to-back. While planned out vaguely, the two-block paradigm occurs, which shortens the time by six months for when Shadows over Innistrad comes.
However, even with that six month difference, there's little reason to complain on SOI. The time between ZEN and BFZ was 5 years (Scars, Inni, RTR, Theros, Khans), and under the old system, Shadows would have been a four year difference (RTR, Theros, Khans, BFZ). Is a one year difference really the sudden change between "OMG WE FINALLY RETURN TO ZENDIKAR" and "OMFG WE JUST GOT BACK FROM INNISTRAD!"? Seems rather unreasonable, especially when, even two weeks before the announcement, people were clamoring about how much they couldn't wait for a Return to Innistrad.
Wait, which lands? Do you mean the scry lands? I'm pretty sure that those were not a major selling point of Theros block. Fetches in Khans is a major selling point, because those lands are actually playable outside of standard. Even the Innistrad lands are better than the checklands. And don't think thoughtseize sold the set either.
I was mostly indifferent to Innistrad in the first place, but my thought on this return echo those of others. Looking through MARO's state of designs for the past 6 years it is clear that they learn pretty much nothing with each new set. They STILL messed up allies in BFZ, with randomly assigned allies, and allies in general just feeling lackluster. I fully expect them to screw the return to Innistrad up in some way as well.
The melting of the feather reminded me of the black oil of Phyrexia.
Sorry, but it just still seems waaaaaay too soon to go back to Innistrad. Why not pull up some long-forgotten plane that hasn't been seen since, I dunno, the early 2000's or even the 90's? A plane the vast majority of the current playerbase will have never known about or interacted with? Don't get me wrong, Innistrad was flavorful and fun (I loved the G/W Human thing, all those counters and anthems, so much fun), but it just seems...abrupt. Since Sorin has to find Nahiri, this time he's going to have to choose between saving the Multiverse and saving Innistrad, and I'm pretty sure that this time he might just give up on Innistrad as a bad job because it's constantly under assault from one thing or another.
Yes we are going to one of the most popular settings according to Wizards, yes it is much faster than other sets, yes BFZ was a bit of a letdown, but come on. The fact remains that we still have Oath to come out before we even start hearing about SoI. I am honestly hugely excited because I missed out on the first Innistrad. I just hope they still keep the great tribal theme that Innistrad had.

What is up, is that a lot of players missed out on Innistrad, RtR got a big uptick in the playerbase; with all the vets talking about nostalgia and the new players wanting a piece of that. What we got was okay, but then BfZ comes, another very nostalgic set, and it is floundering the worst I have seen from a return set. I want you to enjoy original Innistrad level and themed cards, because I enjoyed them, but I will express my complaints; due to how Wizards treated BfZ. I don't want you to be disappointing and think original Innistrad wasn't that great, because all you have to base it on is the "return" set and I don't want one of my favorite sets trampled on by cheap Wizards marketing schemes and lazy design.
I want to return to Innistrad, I just don't know if this is the correct design environment for it.

Doubtful. The icon for the set is an inverted Symbol of Avacyn. I think the twisted monument in the video is referencing that.
Jace goes to Innistrad, and Avacyn heals the damage done to his mind. He regains all his memories, and all the experience he has gained has given him the tools to cope instead of just wiping his mind again.
