Very good card choice. VERY poor art choice. I really wish they would stop changing the art on Invitational cards. Either keep the original art or at the very least just keep the guys face in the art. It is so disrespectful to the creator. I'm certainly glad I own the original art versions already. I guess the silver lining is I won't expect this inferior version to hurt the value of my foil version much at all.
I actually dislike the original art on almost all invitation card except Dark Confidant.
New art is never a bad choice. People who like new art can go for new art. Otherwise, they can always buy the old one. More option is better for everyone.
That said, I don;t like this art.
I don't mind them changing the art. I like to upgrade old spells from time to time when the new stuff strikes my fancy. My biggest point is that if WotC is going to change the art all they have to do is keep the Invitational winners face on it. Don't make it some random mage or whatever. Tiago Chan is the Snapcaster Mage. Dark Confidant is called Bob for a reason. Just don't disrespect that is all that I am saying.
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
I don't know what all the fuss is about on this card. Art on this one is about on par with all the rest of the junk MtG has been putting out; All computer generated art for every card. Throw old school oil painting a bone for a block. Jeez.
Did you see the originals for the land arts from zendikar?

Actually, no and which Zendikar? First block or the revisit?
This art is terrible! Hopefully, if Snappy gets reprinted in a MM set, they use his old art. Sadly I can't see this affecting the price of the original printing foil, as most of the talk on this reprinting is pretty negative.

Revisited, I cant find the link, but they were all oil on canvas paintings before they were on cards.

If that's true, then I'll eat my words about the lands, but a high percent of cards these days are just computer drawings. Give me something on par with Onslaught fetchland arts. Stunning.
And I do like the art on the new full art lands. I don't like the border. Extremely lazy design, as with the Expeditions(they just flipped the text box with the type. DA ****?).
I like this art a lot and it should look decent in foil. I'll probably swap out my INN foil from my cube for it and get some cash in hand into the bargain. I was never a fan of the OG art here.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Honestly I prefer this art much more than the original snapcaster.
Old snappy is some still art with a dude holding some blue gadgetery.
This new guy has tons of action and color. Blues, greens and reds. The guy is running with his arm back about to flash in a spell.
It feels soo much more powerful than the original.
Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
Eh, pass on the new art, it is a little to generic for my tastes.
Even Modern Master's Bob art was less generic imo, even if the art is not too everyone's taste.

I don't mind the art but the art feels like a red card more then a blue card
That's funny because the effect on Snapcaster Mage is far more red than blue, too.
Oh, whatever. Recoup is a single card, and Flash is really not supposed to be in Red.
Both have fairly long histories of interacting with Instants and Sorceries in the GY,
and considering how much Red has stolen from Blue over the years,
it's totally acceptable.

Joseph Meehan has done 9 cards so far. Started out in Tarkir, hasn't done any rares yet. Acolyte of the Inferno, Eldrazi Devastator and Salt Road Ambushers are some examples of his work.

But bad art on chase cards however... serve to make the original even more expensive. That's not to say this one will bomb.
The color choices are really off-putting. It feels like I could receive these by playing in some random FNM event. It reminds me of Disdainful Stroke.
